126  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Teen stolen by cops after curfew bug on: 2009 June 07, 17:55:58
Just incase someone may not know how to work around this bug.  Type in the cheat box: resetSim firstname lastname  This should reset the sim to their house.  This goes for babies too.  The game is a glitchfest!
127  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Neighborhood Shifting-The Horror-or not! on: 2009 June 05, 21:03:37
I normally play one family and make some friends for them and what not in Sims 2.  So for Sims 3 I had some time and thought I would recreate all of Pleasantview starter families and move them in around the neighborhood to see how different it would be.

At the end when I got sick of playing the neighborhood I had:

Mary-Sue died from drowning, Nina Caliente starved to death, Lothario's moved away, The Dreamers moved IN with the Clavell's, Some old man moved in with the Caliente's, the Newbie's had 2 more kids, the Burb family super aged so they were 2 age zones older than everyone else, Matlapin's (Darleen Dreamer) also moved away, and Mortimer and Bella both cloned babies.

I expected chaos...but wow.  So now I am back to just caring about one house.  Everyone else is backdrop.
128  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Gardening and fertilizing on: 2009 June 05, 18:45:15
I did some testing.  My findings are:
Fertilizing with Rank 7 fish (Vampirefish) caused the plant to bear fruit several days earlier than Non fert. plant.
Fertilizing with Rank 7 fish allows you to not need to fertilize as often, compared to fertilizing with an Apple.  Bigger the fish more fertilizer...that is logical.

I found either no difference or just slight difference in the quality of fruit harvested.  I could not tell since it seems random to begin with.  I did not notice an increase of fruit being beared either.

I am testing perfect vampfish to normal vampfish and so far no difference.  My plants have not died yet, so I can not tell how this affects length of crop.

If you want less fertilizer maintenance then go with a bigger fish.

That is my findings.  Again someone who looks at the code would know best.
129  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Gardening and fertilizing on: 2009 June 05, 01:59:00
The guide says nothing about quality of the fertilizer, which to my thinking would be a huge factor.  But then it *is* the guide which is usually not accurate.  Then the green thumb trait might play a part.

I started doing a whole bunch of testing but got really bored!  I just shove whatever I have in my pockets on the plants and eventually through planting and replanting higher quality fruit I end up with perfect plants.  Fertilizing with something that is higher quality of the plant definitely helps the fruits quality.

One nice side information I learned.  If you have a stack of seeds in your pocket and want to see if any of them are perfect quality you can click fertilize on a plant, you can see the seed quality there.  I then fertilize with the seeds that are below perfect and I am left with the perfect seeds.  Only works for uncommon and rare I believe.

**Edited to remove misinformation from the Prima Guide of Lies...  Answers later on in the thread found from others delving in the code.
131  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Story Progression Toggle: Is it borked? on: 2009 May 31, 15:50:01
I stupidly recreated all of Pleasantview to match Bella and Mortimer.  I then made them all houses to match their needs and money status.  Decorated them, moved each family in and got them jobs. This part was fun.

Then I was playing with Mary-Sue in the park and noticed this old man carrying Darren Dreamer.  I was like...why??  Went to "Edit Town" and found:

The Lotharios just up and disappeared, the Dreamers MOVED in with the old couple, the Clavell's. and then Darleen Matlapin's (Dirk Dreamer's Mom) up and moved off the planet as well.  In one sim day!

No messages in the newspaper of their moves either Sad

Will this be fixed in the upcoming Awesomeness?  Why the hell can't the game move around the stupid EAxis townies!  Why my carefully made sims!  I didn't even get to enjoy them for 1 day...lame.  I knew this could happen because I saw it before...but 3 families totally changed in 1 day.
132  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Burial Grounds (Dead Girls Don't Say No) on: 2009 May 31, 04:51:35
Yes, I didn't take a screenshot. (New computer and didn't load a photo program yet) My screenshots all come out really dark.

You get to shoo the rats, and they run all over the place then disappear.  The lot was covered in trash, cockroaches, rats and weeds.
133  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Burial Grounds (Dead Girls Don't Say No) on: 2009 May 31, 02:45:02
I have also gotten "Squatters have lived her before you came!" Which resulted in cockroaches, rats and garbage everywhere!  I tried to get it again by moving a family in a million times and haven't gotten any of them since Sad I'm thinking it is random.

The rats were really neat, that would be great if they came like the cockroaches do.

134  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: OK, so why would I want this mess? on: 2009 May 30, 06:08:05
Well I am not a sheep, but I find myself enjoying the Sims 3.  I have always been a player, with a side of builder.  I have never created any custom content but I have over 4 gigs of DLs for Sims 2  Embarrassed

I certainly agree with a lot of the things people dislike.  I am also really pissed that half the game content is for sale at the Sims Store.  I refuse to buy any of it and will gladly donate my 10 sim bucks to a worthy cause  Wink

It's strange because I like a lot of the things people are disliking.  I like the random quests, and the collecting.  I love the entire neighborhood aging and dying.  I love the seamless neighborhood.

I miss everything that is in Sims 2; seasons, apartments, OFB, pets etc.  I dislike the random clones/births.  I  hope some of the rabbit holes one day turn into usable places.  I think they put the lighting in the game on improperly.  The lighting is so harsh and unflattering outside of CAS.

I guess it comes down to a lot of the Sims 2 is missing from the Sims 3.  Like it was created by people who have never even touched Sims 2.  I will play it...but like everything, if it gets old, move on to something else.
135  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Good, the Bad, and the Randomly @Toaded on: 2009 May 27, 00:27:20
My sim's family is on it's 4th generation and I have not seen 1 NPC/Townie randomly fall in love, marry and move into a house with someone.  I have seen names in the paper of sims that got married but they were not people in sim houses and they never showed up in an empty house.  Anyone single in a sim house ends up adopting/cloning but never marrying anyone.  Ugly old random guys in random houses is eewwww.

And for you Bella lovers...Mortimer and Bella do not autonomously fall in love get married and make Cassandra and Alex.  Even their traits are retarded and nothing like the old versions.

On a side note...someone tell me where the money tree is!?  I can't figure it out.
136  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Playing AL without apartments: witches enough? on: 2008 September 30, 14:24:44
I also waited a while to get AL.  So far I do like the witches, I am not ususally into the other "species" of the game.  I got some hacks/mods to take away the skin change and sparkles.  I have always made duplexes and apartments using Inge's lockable doors so I am enjoying apartments.  I like the new interactions and even the statue man and the breakdancer.

I hate the changing of the portrait...to see its total fail, watch someone get electrocuted!  As always they tend to get obsessed over the new items and jumping rope.

So my hack folder is even bigger but I love a lot of the items added and I am really liking the game right now.
137  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cloning an in game sim (in looks, mainly.) on: 2008 August 05, 02:04:32
I use Doc's SimPe method all the time.  I also have several of my favorite sims DNA saved in a folder so if the game makes a townie/NPC/club person I can change their DNA to something I know I like.

But remember like Pescado said, if there are 2 choices in the facial DNA the 1st instance is their DNA and the 2nd is their Facelift(not genetic).  Just export face 2 and replace face 1.

I couldn't live without this!
138  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: The application has crashed. The application will now terminate. on: 2008 July 02, 18:30:54
I use delphy's download organizer from MTS2 : http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=227925

The good thing about this is it dates when you put the items in your folder if you use it regularly.  Easier to find things like your crashing problem.

You can catagorize items too and that may help you find it by just putting small amounts of files into your download folder.

Before you start, backup your download folder and put it somewhere safe.  Be leary about deleting anything that shows as an orphan, because it is not updated (to my knowledge) for Freetime, K&B, and Ikea.  So it will find recolors of those as orphans.

Good luck!
139  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ikea on: 2008 June 27, 14:36:21
Anyone else having a problem with doors not "locking" correctly?

My homes and businesses that have doors to areas I do not want people to go to are not acting like they are locked.  Everyone just waltzes right in.  I have replaced the doors and relocked them, and still doesn't work.

Driving me nuts.  I didn't see this before I installed Ikea...and I did not add anything except an updated phonehack.
140  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ikea on: 2008 June 25, 16:11:58
I found 2 hack problems so far, but I have not extensively tested...I have all expansions and all stuff packs.  I do have securom, but I don't use this computer for anything but sims..so meh never removed it.

1. My sims could not use the telephone, so I removed the phonehack from here and they could then call.

2. Using the lot debugger I can no longer upgrade my sims to university.

Both of those things worked minutes before I installed it.

That's all I have found.  I like the objects a lot, I can't wait for recolors.
141  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed. on: 2008 February 29, 12:45:27
I put the Llama Jenga game out and invited sims over.  All of the guests ran for the game, then sat there ALL day and NIGHT playing.  I couldn't do anything to get them to get off the game.  So I finally made them selectable to get them off.

I hate how they get obsessed with things like this and the instruments.  Drives me nuts.  Calling them to dinner didn't work either and that usually works pretty good.
142  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: MissingChildAnim Fix (Drink Chocolate/Drink Juice) on: 2007 September 19, 20:44:39
Ah thank you!

This did work in Seasons because I often fed my children apple juice to do homework, and hot chocolate.  When I tried this since BV the child would jump out...not nice!

Thank god we have people like you to fix the game!
143  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Anti-Redundancy *CRITICAL FOR BVp0* on: 2007 September 13, 23:55:20
Possible problem.  While talking on the phone to someone, my level of social immediately jumps to full no matter if it is half full or in desperation mode.

Did you just get back from a vacation and did you chose to be refreshed?  My sims had the same thing happen after they returned from their vacation.  It went away when the refreshed state faded.
