TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My pets won't get a promotion!

When I had this problem, it was due to using Dizzy's old sitter hack which hadn't been updated for pets. There are others out there known to cause this problem. One is an old version of one of Pes' hacks, I think it's the noagediscrimination. Someone else was having this problem and discovered they had an old version of this hack hiding out in their downloads. Updating it to the proper version fixed the problem. So make sure that you have the correct versions of all your hacks, and don't use any which the creator says is incompatible with the newest EP you have installed.

Marhis also has a hack at MTS2 that works with the nobuskers hack to eliminate the long animation of checking/shaking the tip jar when they do perform. The jar just disappears, and any money goes into their funds.

Usually happens when a sim is going off to take the dog for a walk and the dog goes down/up the stairs first. Which makes me wonder if any of the EAxis folks actually own dogs, because most of the time my dog waits for me to start down and then zooms by me. That's so funny, because my dog does the same thing. I've tried to get her to go ahead of me, but she stubbornly refuses. Then once I start to go down, she gets excited and runs down ahead of me. I've been using Targa's Ascension "elevators" over at MTS2, and I love them. They are low poly, compact, and you can place four of them in the space that a staircase would take. I rarely have route blockages with these. Before I heard someone here talk about using them, I had switched to putting modular stairs in all my houses, but that was a PITA when you play several houses like I usually do. On the topic of sims waving at each other more, I've noticed that too. I heard someone say Maxis put that in because people wanted their sims to be more social towards each other. But it's really weird seeing a couple waving at each other across the bed after having just woohoo'ed.

Yes, it is easy, but as you say, it's so mind-numbingly boring. That's one of the reasons I don't play Pleasure sims. That and their boring wants. Jump on the sofa. Juggle. Jump on the sofa some more. Ask someone on a date. Juggle. Soak in hot tub. Jump on sofa. Play chess. *pulls out hair*

I experimented with this last night. I ran the hack conflict scanner, and while Squinge's AnyLTW and Pes' ltwvariety do conflict, there is no conflict between Squinge's AnyLTW and Pes' uni LTW mod. However, I ended up taking out Squinge's hack because it takes too long to cycle through all the LTW's to get to the one I want. I think I'll stick with ltwvariety, and if I have a sim I want a different LTW for, I'll spawn the Sim Modder through testingcheats. I was interested in Squinge's reduced requirements LTW mod for the ones like 3 children instead of 6, etc., which will help with curbing the population explosion, but I did not like changing Max 7 skills to 5 skills. Usually my sim kids have maxed 5 skills already by the time they become a teen, and when I tested this in my test hood, the "Max 5 skills" would not roll up as LTW for a teen who had maxed all but one skill point. I had to take away two skills and 1 skill point from another before it would roll up. Then she could get the LTW. I tried changing the mod in SimPE from 5 to 7, but when I saved it, it blew up from 8k to 32k! Also the "Directory of Compressed files" entry disappeared. I don't know why this is, but I couldn't figure out how to compress it again, so I just deleted it. I would love to see one though that reduced the number of children or 1st/dream dates, etc., but not skills. It would be awesome if we had one we could modify ourselves to make it harder/easier or just customize it to our personal playing style.

I checked out that fix by Numenor, and it sounds like it is just what you need! Did someone say here it was caused by not having Pets? I'm not sure what Pets did to cars, but it sounds consistent with your situation, Emma.
Yep, I have the Numenorian version and it works just fine and doesn't break my other car headlights Yay! Yay!!! I am genuinely very happy for you.

I can't wait to try this out. I saw this in the test directory last night but haven't gotten a chance to play with it. Does anyone know if this will conflict with Squinge's Any LTW mod?

No, I don't think that would work or be a good idea. All the character files for Downtown and other subhoods are contained in the main neighborhood.package file. I was only talking about moving the entire neighborhood folder from one PC to another, with all subhoods and character files intact.

I remember saying something about this back at VariousSimmers. I said something about leaving the babies on the cold hard floor, and Pes says that prepares them for life, which is cold and hard.
