51  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: You think you might have a hack/mod conflict? Than check this tool! on: 2006 April 17, 17:50:06
There is a tool over at Simwardrobe that permits you to check if some hack/mod you have install in your game have a possible conflict with each other.

Squinge over at the insimenator site trust it enough to make it a permanent post there.

You can install this in any folder you wish or even on your destop, it is fast and it seems to be reliable.  You simply need to unzip it (3 files to unzip)  and then double-clic on the .exe file and after the window pop-up simply clic on scan.  It will automaticaly do a report and let you know if you have possible conflicts or not.  It will not correct or fix it but at least you will know and can report to the modder about it.

You will need to install Microsoft visual basic too in order for it to work.

Here is a link to Squinge's original post about this tool, he also gave a link to visual basic in the same post:  http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=8821

It took me like 2 seconds to do a scan but I only have mods/hacks install in my downloads folder.

According to this program, I have 9 possible hack conflicts. Take a look:

I use Dizzy2's tool also. It never fails.

Which tool is this? Dizzy's, I mean.
Yes Mike please share.  Smiley

55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New "Love Bed" at Shaklin's SimPage. on: 2006 April 16, 23:44:09
Just as a test, I went back to that lot and tried it again.  There were two different Social Bunnies on the lot.  Without their bunny suits, one was a red-haired male with the short afro-style hair and the other was a female with long straight blond hair.  So, just be warned that you can't tell what gender the Social Bunny is ahead of time, and you may get a surprise when you invite them to join on this bed  Grin

Karen

This gives me more reasons why I should test this out.
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Good reason for *not* getting FFS (Family Fun Stuff) on: 2006 April 16, 23:17:22
Thing is, this is totally unnecessary. There's nothing in the damned pack that would require higher requirements. Believe me, I've seen custom content that people download with way more polys and bigger textures than what's the FFP. I really dislike that it installs like an episode, new directory, new objects.package, new bodyshop, SimPE complains about it etc etc. It's just a few objects for crying out loud. I've downloaded way more stuff than what's in this pack and it didn't make my game a new episode. Tongue

I completely agree. Maxis did alot of unnecessary things with Family Fun Stuff.

I thought it was the other way around.
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Request: Making the Hang-out interaction better on: 2006 April 16, 23:10:31
Hey, I've tried requesting this in various websites but haven't really gotten any feedback, I guess it's kinda impossible to do.
But hey it's worth a try here.

Umm, JM, Twojeffs or crammy, could you possibly make a mod that alters the hangout interaction? I mean making the relationship gains higher since it takes forever for that with Hangout.

Also making sims have gossips within the interaction along with some sharing of interests.

Now that in my opinion makes it better and worthwile.

Thanks if ever you hear me out. Cheesy

Like the idea. You should post a request at Modthesims2. There are alot more modders there who are willing to help you out. Wink
59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anybody know of some cute guy ponytail meshes? on: 2006 April 16, 23:07:50
Thanks, Jysudo.  I'll have to recolor it, but that's not too big of a deal.  Smiley

Edit:  Oops, big deal.  I recolored the textures, but for some reason they won't show up right - it comes out looking like the short 'afro' hair.

Cheesy What did you do? Did you need any help?  Cheesy

Have you checked with Clean Install for any empty packages?  You can delete those safely, perhaps it's related?  I'm not sure as I don't keep them so I haven't seen this.

See, I didn't even think of that. Man, whats wrong with me today.  Embarrassed

The Social Bunny, minus the bunny costume, turned out to be a black-haired, light-skinned male with a mustache.

Roll Eyes Oh baby, I gotta try this thing out!

66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My sims complain a lot on my home business on: 2006 April 16, 22:45:53
I found that some sims want things from rooms that they aren't allowed to go.

But If they aren't supposed to go there why are they still trying to reach these things?

Before she quite the sims modding business, Inge made a patch to stop that behavior. Check this thread for a pointer to an archive of her files: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.net/smf/index.php?topic=3938.0

Thanks for providing him with the right information, because Mike isn't do a good job at it.  Wink

Make sure those things aren't marked for sale.

Well for the first time I made a home bussiness using the ticket machine, it is a videogame place, there are computers, vg consoles, tv, a  karaoke machine, pool table and a bathroom. But my customers insist on complain about I-don't-what. I look at their thought bubbles and they seem to complain at my sims that live in the lot. (It's not always the same sim).  So I don't have any clue.

So I'm making money but I'm not advancing, I don't what I have to do to make my customers happy and win stars.

Am I forgeting something?

They complain for no reason, they do it all the time in my game. This is probably a bug. However, the complaining ceases when my employees earn a gold badge at what they are doing. Do your sims have gold badges? Maybe this could be related some how.

70  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sim Spam: "Unknown" and professors on: 2006 April 16, 19:39:07
I've wondered if the Unknown is the Unknown sim of all the first kisses, etc.  Anyway, one always gets generated when you start a new neighbourhood.

I think that is the unknown sim that appears in first kiss memories.
71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New "Love Bed" at Shaklin's SimPage. on: 2006 April 16, 19:27:39
I tried it out in my game, and it is interesting.  I was kind of annoyed that it reset all my sims so that everyone at work got sent home and all my sims I'd put to bed were standing up fully energized...and my toddlers had to be re-smartmilked.  Roll Eyes

I'm not sure how much I will use it, but it was fun to play with.  I can kind of see where he got some of the animations.  The one where the sim lies on their back for woohoo was kind of creepy, because I could see that it was the animation used for babies.  The sim has a wide-eyed, blank look in its eyes, and it holds its hands with the middle and ring fingers folded in with the others out.  It makes them look spastic.  Tongue  But the reason he used it is because the sim has its legs spread open.  I even played around with moveobjects when I had this happen with Bella once.  I've seen this before when I had a glitch with a sim who did nothing but lie on the ground and move like a baby.  It's cute when babies do it, but it's creepy on a grown sim.

Shocked Yuck, they're doing it on the dinner table.  Lips sealed
72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Elevator Bug *please read* on: 2006 April 16, 19:18:40
I heard Maxis say in a chat that they made it so you could plummet to death on community lots. The part about the lost gravestone could be resolved by simply clicking the tombstone and selecting "Place gravestone in my inventory."

74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: how to make alien sims? on: 2006 April 16, 18:46:26
Has anyone tried selecting the alien skin, the black eyes, and then changing the alien skin to something else?  Just curious if that would work.

When you deselect the alien skin, the alien eyes leave as well.
75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Elevator Bug *please read* on: 2006 April 16, 18:44:13
Why are my Sims don't ever die from plummeting the elevator?

NOTE:
*Their needs are almost zero.
*They are woohoo-ing
*Not in a community lot

Does anyone also has this bug?

I have no idea whats going on. You did say something about it not being at a community lot which could possibly be a problem, perhaps?
Maxis did make it so they can die on community lots and maybe that caused a bug where they cant die on residential lots by elevator anymore. I would have to test it out myself
