226  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Easy way to Magical gnomes and are they bugged? on: 2009 July 11, 13:24:04
My current gnome has yet to budge. I placed it several (sim) weeks ago on the floor by the TV, and he's stayed there ever since - not moving, changing pose... Nothing. I might have to get my sim to kick the poisoned dwarf's arse just so it'll adopt a new pose or something.

My gnomes won't budge unless I kick their shortasses, and even then it's rinse and repeat if I want a different pose. It doesn't matter if I've renamed them or not, or have the camera pointed at them for over a week.
228  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: TS3 Anti-Piracy uses PACE? on: 2009 June 28, 14:13:24
Legit disc version, reinstalled twice, patched, Windoze XP SP3. No PACE, not even with EADM installed.

As others have said, it must be related to an older version of EADM.
229  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch released. on: 2009 June 26, 21:23:55
This is probably a dumb question but do I need the patch for the current build of awesomemod to work?  I really don't feel like dealing with shitty EAxis patches if I don't really need to at the moment.  Awesomemod seems to fix everything I have an issue with and this patch doesn't really do anything for me.

Yes, you do.

Speaking of the patch, has anyone else noticed a drop in fps since using it? My archaic GeForce 6800 used to give me 20-25 fps, but now it seems to be locked at 10-15 and no amount of tweaking seems to do anything. Stupid EA.  Roll Eyes
230  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: No Autonomous Put Away Fire Pit Mod on: 2009 June 25, 00:48:17
As someone who used to get infuriated every time my neat sims, on a community lot visit made a beeline to fire pit to put it away (isn't that theft?), I can honestly say this mod works great!

Cheers!  Grin
231  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Objects I miss on: 2009 June 18, 17:30:03
I really do miss the Servo.  Cry Ahhh, good old times, when you could just do whatever you wa... Oh wait.

Servo?  The servo was never a decent replacement for the TS1 robot.  I still miss the TS1 robot.
This. I want a robot that behaves like a robot and does the chores and doesn't count as a family member. Ts2 servos were bad and broke too damn often.

They did to Servo in TS2 what they did to ghosts in TS3 - gave them personalities.

I don't want collections of microchips walking about like demented Chobits persocoms in much the same way as I don't want ghosts going around acting all friendly. I miss the TS1 servo - it did what it was told and didn't answer back!
232  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bulldozing turns lots blue on: 2009 June 17, 19:58:08
I'm running the retail version.

I did a test tonight, bulldozing community and residential lots both in Sunset Valley and Riverview. Residential lots bulldoze fine, but all community lots leave blue gaps.
233  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bulldozing turns lots blue on: 2009 June 16, 14:37:36
I've had this issue too. I bulldozed the lot with the school on it in Sunset Valley (got fed up with the town being deserted Mon-Fri) and it left a gaping hole where you could see the sea if you looked closely enough. Moar excellent EA borkage going on there.

Fixed it by plonking another lot there but decided to revert back to an older save, delete the school building instead and turn the land into another park instead.
234  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Share pix / vidz of THE HORROR here on: 2009 June 16, 12:39:04
I haven't figured out if this is a glitch or what, but my Sim is now level 10 in Handyness, and he still can't upgrade this:

<snip>

My sim got a similar wish - except in her case it was to upgrade a door. And no - It can't be done.

That girl's profile claims she is 12. I'm not buying it. I don't know what possessed me to read one of her stories, but it sure reminds me of "da stuf in da july thred" with netspeak included.

dis is britteny she lives on her own in plesentview. her mom died wen she was just 4 and her dad left she had 2 grow up on her own and she is now 19
WTF? How on earth can a four-year cook, clean, do grocery shopping, earn money to buy food et cetera on her own? Where are the Social Workers? Anyway, point is she is a child on her own planet. Of course someone who likes Miss Hilton does. Not. Have. Any. IQ. Points.

She must be some sort of sick joke, right?

There's no way that profile of hers is real, is there? And what's with all that garish rainbow crap, anyway - rainbow skin, lips...

And why is there always a link between people who demand that I "rate high", and content that is so universally crap, it is actually a crime against humanity to view them?  Grin

If only there was a way to rate that crap on TSR.
236  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 15, 14:16:22
Venusy, I figured CN was fair game again because this wasn't specifically a clothing category, and I think it's the funky folding when sitting that really makes you go 'what the fuck'...well....that is after just seeing the dress in the first place.

If it's disqualified based on the February ruling, that's fine.

Actually, I thought it was the price tag attached to this abomination crime against taste "creation" that made one go "What the fuck???"
237  TS2: Burnination / The War Room / Re: TUTORIAL: Correct Footstep Noises On Skins! on: 2007 September 12, 16:31:32
I know it's an old thread, but it's bugged me for months that nobody answered this question.

It has to be done for each recolour. You can't associate the footsteps with the meshes themselves.

I only know this because whenever I download clothing, I almost always have to fix the footstep noises because the original creator can't be bothered to.
238  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! September: WTF? on: 2007 September 10, 21:06:41
rebecah deserves points, both for creativity and honesty.  Most creators don't bother showing people how bad their animations look.  She is a very talkented coder (unlike feeessen who just makes breaky chairs and potties), and people who dare to make things that look horrible to pave the way for people who refuse to release anything that isn't perfect.

The only real problem I can see with Rebekah's objects are the sim animations. Either she's taken stock animations from the game itself (like the skateboard one), or she's tried to do her own with a lot of guesswork. The real shame about it is that if she could get the animations right, these objects would be really good (well, except the wheelie - I haven't a clue what that one's about at all).
