1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Social Worker brainwashed the kids and fed them elixar! on: 2006 March 14, 00:55:13
When I adopt a child that was previously playable but got taken away, I find their memories got wiped and their age is reset.

Is there a hack (or two hacks) that can counter this?  The FDA only permits teenage sims or older to drink the elixar for a reason...  and I don't want to see the social workers messing with children's memory!   Undecided

is it possible to make the bought item have their original instead of depreciated value?

If something is crossed off from dirty but not added to clean, does that mean they are obsolete?

deathfix
hygienebugfix
moveoutbugfix

And are the following obsolete as well?

cellphonefix
mondayfix

thanks

did romancemod even became NL-ready?
6  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Final Exam Fix For NLp2 on: 2006 February 26, 00:27:55
is this "second patch" offered as "the patch" on the Maxis website?  I only see one for NL there.

January 3rd, the update I've been waiting for.  Thanks!!! (-:

I guess NL modified some stuff related to SS so this was listed as noe-NL compatible?  Has anyone tried it with NL regardless and see if fireballs spit up?

On a slight tangent:
I've been playing with only officially NL approved hacks, didn't notice this wasn't in there because I haven't been playing university lots.  Last night on one neighborhood I created 4 YA sims, cheated to induct 3 into SS, and let the 4th be friends with them.  They were all in the same household.  Then at 23:00, the limo came to abduct my 4th sim, but once the limo drove away, the game didn't load to the SS lot.  The 4th sim was simply removed from the selectable list while the residential lot continued to play with the 3 other sims.  I didn't wait around to see if the sim would come back later cuz I had to sleep, but did NL change the abduction behavior?  Or did I run into a bug?

Likewise i think autoyak, autosoc, and encouragificer are considered objects too, though not completely sure.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: [Req] Continuous dancing / play pool on: 2005 November 30, 06:35:58
coolness (-:

on a related note, can there be an option for Skillinator so that individuals pick whether to kick for fun or dance/pool for fun?

I want my adults to kick, and teens to dance/pool
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: [Req] Continuous dancing / play pool on: 2005 November 30, 05:25:45
Lol, how do you want them to dance after all the disasters you put them in? Poor kids...Smiley.
well, they are knowledge sims, so they WANT to be abducted and watch their siblings be abducted.  and all the death will happen after they are done dancing.  Thier parents will get resurrected by the gramps or uncles once the teen-turned-YA get their scholarship money d-:
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / [Req] Continuous dancing / play pool on: 2005 November 30, 04:20:49
Now, I know kicking stuff is the fastest way to increase fun.  But from a scholarship perspective, if I'm going to go after all the scholarships before sending my teen sims off to college, overall wouldn't it be more time-efficient if they use dancing and playing pool to handle their fun needs?

Anyways, I currently have two teens who maxed out all 7 skills, been abducted by aliens, A+ grades, and will be getting jobs 3 days before going to college, turned into vampire as well as losing their parents to the cow plant forest in the attic a few hours before going to college.

They've been kicking stuff for fun, so now I have to keep telling them to dance and play pool.  Pool isn't so bad, each game lasting quite a while (they play on separate pool tables), but I can't get dancing to go very far, due to ADHD from constant high fun and social motives.  This is why I'm requesting the macro.
13  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Unlinkage On Urnstone Delete on: 2005 November 30, 04:04:51
can you add a pie-option on the tomb stone that says "Shred", which pops up a confirmation to double check the players know what they are doing, and delete the character file after the confirmation?

Or something like "bust the ghost", since I presume the ghosts are intrinsically tied to the character file.  Driving their spirit symbolizes the irreversable process of deleting character file, and prevents future resurrection.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: [Req] WALK if Sim is just going to the next lot AND came via taxi on: 2005 November 29, 01:23:22
Hmm, Nightlife's game options has some radius thing, I guess the BHAVs can't tap into that?

How about just generically "If lot changing is via clicking on neighbors, walk" and players set the radius to minimal, or only click on adjacent ones.  Would that be doable, or is neighbor-clicking still beyone the grasps of BHAVs?
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / [Req] WALK if Sim is just going to the next lot AND came via taxi on: 2005 November 29, 00:19:55
I find it absolutely ridiculous that, if I go to a lot via Taxi, and want to go to the lot right next to the current one, I have to wait for an hour of taxi...

If I drove here, then it makes sense to also move my car over, so driving to next lot makes sense.

But even a super Lazy zombie sim can walk to the adjacent lot within 30 minutes, so why wait for taxi that takes an hour to get here?  Good thing taxi are free...
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / coffee cup hack for NL? on: 2005 November 28, 01:56:56
I saw the punchcup hack in the NL list, but no coffee cup hack.

Does the features of the punchcup hack include that of the coffee cup hack?  It wasn't obvious in the rftm.txt.

Thanks!

8. Now possible to invite headmaster if toddler will auto-transition at 1800
while headmaster scenario is in progress.

On the lot I'm playing there is an adult who used to have terrible grades as a teenager and flunked out of college.
I have a pair of toddler twins who were going to age transition at 18:00 on Friday.

Friday afternoon another sim tried to invite the headmaster. However I got a response that private schools are not interested in kids whose grades are below C.  On Saturday (the twins have turned into children), the headmaster was successfully invited.

I'm not sure whether the issue with Friday was caused by the adult who flunked out of school, but I can't think of any other possible causes.

Didn't keep a savegame for it to retest, sorry.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Professors only count as semi-service sims? on: 2005 September 13, 19:25:31
It would indeed be a poor job on Maxis' part on describing this want, if 'Woohoo with 5 service sims' actually meant 'Woohoo with 5 different types of service sims', I'd be so pissed off if I were you, having done all that work for nothing Roll Eyes.

Well in my case that sim did it because the story involves her sleeping with all male professors.  I didn't do it specifically for the want, so I'm not pissed off ^^

I might consider modifying the story a bit so she sleeps with other types of service sims too...  or just do it and not save it and see if it works.

anyways, just to be clear, all professor woohoo memories did have the service woohoo icon.  (-:
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Professors only count as semi-service sims? on: 2005 September 12, 20:48:22
I'm just guessing here, but check if there's only 1 'did woohoo with service sim' memory attached to the 1st professor your sim woohoo-ed with, 'cos if there's only 1, then maybe '5 Service Sims' actually meant 5 different types of service sims? The maid, gardener, mail man/woman, bartender, repairman/woman, barista, delivery man/woman, the rest of the variety I can't recall right now. Been a long time since I played romance sims like sex machines, can't keep up Tongue.

Hmm, I don't have any "Did woohoo with service sim" memory.  For each professor, there is only the "Did woohoo with Professor Blah" memory.

You could still be right though, in which case Maxis did a terrible job describing this particular want >_<"

btw I was mistaken when I said one morning the want rolled away.  It's still there )-:
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Professors only count as semi-service sims? on: 2005 September 12, 19:18:55
I have a romance sim, she has woohoo'ed with one regular sim, and then was trying to woohoo with every single male professor.  She's full adult already.

Well, by the time she was on to the 7th or 9th professor, one of her wants became "Woohoo with 5 service sims".

I'm pretty sure that want popped up because she has been woohoo-ing professors (who's woohoo memory icon does feature the service sim).  However my sim has already woohoo-ed more than 5.  I got her to finish woohoo-ing the remaining professors, but that want was never satisified.  Eventually it just rolled away when my sim woke up one morning.

I'm wondering whether the game processes professors as service sims only when deciding what wants should come up based on recent actions, but otherwise are counted as regular sims when the number of times woohooing with service sims are being computed?

21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Better Use of the SimVac? on: 2005 July 22, 03:05:05
Hmm, does the vac nuke relationship with the victim, or with everyone?

I thought it nukes the user's relationship with everyone, which was the reason I never used it  But if the relationship affected is only with the victim, I might actually consider it now...
22  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: FFS Director's Cut: More Awesome Than You on: 2005 July 17, 01:57:01
Hmm, I've noticed the Director's Cut is not a strict subset of the "All Hacks".

There are stuff in the director's cut that are not in the "all hacks", and vice versa too, unless the zip file name in the All Hacks directory differ from the .package name in the director's cut.  I haven't got time to check indepth.
