1  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Graduation Party Memory Fix on: 2006 February 12, 12:28:11
the double graduation memory is caused by notelepathy. As soon as I removed no telepathy from my downloads folder, my sims stopped to have this extra memory with lower grade.
Pioupiou.

I've never had notelepathy installed in my game and I get the double graduation memory. I can move them into a new house directly after they return from Uni and there's no extra memory. But if they move after that they get it, with the reduced honour.
2  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Crammyboye Archives / Re: Computer Madness Fix on: 2006 January 28, 22:40:23
It's not just computers in my game, they also do it with musical instruments, baths, toilets ... it's whenever someone they're 3-bolts in love with is using it, they want to use it as well.  Even if they've just had a bath, they want another one, or they want to clean the thing when their beloved is in it.  Drives me absolutely crazy.  If it were possible to put them in the bath and throw an electric fire in with them, I would.  No, seriously, I mean it.

That drives me crazy too. When I first got NL I always tried to get the  bolts as high as possible with married couples, but now I purposely will not let sims marry if they have three bolts. I've had sims almost die because they had three bolts with their partner. They'd rather clean the toilet that their partner is using than eat, even when their hunger is almost at minimum. It's ridiculous.

Thanks crammyboy for this hack. Yet another annoyance gone.

An alternative for 2b (grocery madness) is Monique's computer at MTS2 that has an option for express delivery and teleports the groceries direct to the sim doing the ordering. It does pizza and chinese too.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Attack of the 1950s demons! What's going on here? on: 2006 January 13, 15:20:36
I just noticed that when Nightlife generates downtownies it creates a lot of identical sims. I just started a new custom neighborhood, deleted all characters and generated new townies and downtownies. The ordinairy townies were all different, but when it created the downtownies it created quite a few identical pairs. Same faces, hair, clothes and makeup. (Although they seem to have different aspirations. I haven't checked whether they have different personalities.) I imagine that's what has happened here and the game just happened to choose that pair of "glasses".
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Buy-Off? on: 2006 January 02, 03:20:18
There must be more to it than I thought then. The only time I've ever seen it was when a sim was furious. And even then it wasn't always available.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Buy-Off? on: 2006 January 02, 02:54:28
Unless I've misunderstood it, it's not so much rivals you buy off but anyone that is furious with you and keeps stealing your newspaper or kicking over your bin. It stops them for a while but not completely.

The "booklet thingy" you refer to sounds like a winrar icon. Are the downloads you're talking about the installed versions or the zip/rar versions? It sounds to me like you need to install winrar or maybe winzip. Sims package files normally have a windows icon unless you've associated them with a program.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can anyone identify this hack? on: 2005 December 29, 23:34:02
I had seen this before at MTS2, so I know there can be some kind of sky projection done. I thought maybe someone had built on this hack:

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=44693&highlight=horizon

I hadn't seen that before. Looks good.
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can anyone identify this hack? on: 2005 December 29, 22:56:00
I have a hard time believing there is a hack that does this. I remember reading in the thread for Gunmods radiance lighting mod that the sky used on lots is a mapped cube, rather than a sphere. This means any texture, other than a plain colour, would be distorted. The backgrounds in the sims2community thread aren't distorted at all from what I can see.

It wouldn't suprise me if those pictures were rendered in some 3D program (3D Studio etc). I use Cinema 4D and it is easy to just map a sunset on to a background with no distortion at all.

Of course, I could be wrong.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Hygiene drop w/ Smustle? on: 2005 December 21, 12:53:10
Funny you should mention that, but only yesterday I noticed the exact same thing. I find the smustle funny so I had a married couple, who had both recently got out of bed and used the shower, smustle together. And I noticed the hygiene drop. It's odd how I'd never noticed it before, but considering they were both freshly showered it was quite a drop.

So I'm not going mad! Thanks everyone.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Make out and not fall in love on: 2005 December 21, 03:39:37
Has anyone else had this happen. I have four students living in a house. They are two couples who I intend to marry when they've finished university. Anyway, One of the girls had a two bolt attraction for the male that she isn't currently in love with and a 100/100 relationship and I thought, just to spice things up I'd have her make out with him and skip any flirting. So, they lock lips and groan away and when they've finished no hearts! I tried again and still no hearts. They seem to be able to make out all the time without falling in love.

I haven't tried any of the other romantic interactions as I've now decided I don't want them to be in love, but is this a feature I'm not aware of? Seems more realistic to me, but I don't know if maybe some mod has caused it. I've found a romantic kiss always seems to make sims fall in love as long as the relationship is high enough.

And on a seperate note, since when have sims cleaned their windows? One of my very neat sims autonomously started cleaning his bedroom window. It's the first time I've ever seen that.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What is your aspiration? on: 2005 December 20, 21:36:09
I'm only an occasional poster but regular visitor, and I must say Brynn you do make me laugh.  Smiley

As for aspiration, I'm too much of a mixture of all of them to pin myself down to one. Except fortune. I've never cared for money. There are too many good things in life that are free.
14  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: Monday Morning Madness Fix *CRITICAL* *NL* on: 2005 December 16, 14:48:05
Sorry, seems I had the old version. Will try current one. Thanks.
15  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: Monday Morning Madness Fix *CRITICAL* *NL* on: 2005 December 16, 00:01:06
I'm having problems with sims missing work on other days where they work nights. For example one of my sims who is a Broadway Star had thursday off and had to work friday evening, but Friday morning came around and he was told he'd missed a days work and lost job performance.

Could this fix be modified to work on other days?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Really good ideas... on: 2005 December 13, 08:55:11
One thing I've learnt in real life is that just because I want something, doesn't mean I can have it. Same goes for my sims. They want a bowling alley? Hard luck! DJ booth? Think again simmy!  Smiley
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone recognise this outfit? on: 2005 December 06, 12:31:31
Same here ZephyrZodiac. I don't even have a TV so there's no way I was going to get a parody of some obscure Japanese show.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone recognise this outfit? on: 2005 December 06, 04:05:26
Thanks everyone for revealing the mystery for me. My sim was only just promoted to Celebrity Chef so I hadn't actually seen her go to work in them. It was the fact that there were four that confused me. Not to mention the rediculous colours!

Now if you could get them to wear them when using the punch bag career reward they'd look good with all those Karate kicks. But a chef? Whatever the Maxoids are smoking, I wish they'd stop.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Green arrow under objects solid? on: 2005 December 06, 00:32:26
I've seen that a few times but not for awhile now. It never seemed to cause any problems and I've been playing the same neighborhood since installing Nightlife.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Anyone recognise this outfit? on: 2005 December 06, 00:30:06
She's my first Celebrity Chef too. To me it looks like an Aladin pantomime costume. Oh no it doesn't! Oh yes...  Grin
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Anyone recognise this outfit? on: 2005 December 06, 00:17:11
I went to plan a new Everyday outfit for one of my sims and found four outfits that I don't recognise and certainly didn't buy. See attached image for an example of one of them. The other 3 are the same outfit but different colours.

The lot has two female sims, both Pleasure aspiration, both achieved LTW and both at the top of their career. One a Professional Party Guest and the other a Celebrity Chef. Initially I thought it might be the Celebrity Chef career outfit, but if that was the case wouldn't their be only one choice?

I'm puzzled. Anyone know what they are?

I blame DMA.

As in DMA Worker and Woohoo NPCs? I do have them installed.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: phone jumping bug on: 2005 November 26, 01:41:11
I'm afraid I can't actually give you a solution, but I wondered if you were having the same problem with the phones as I am.

My problem only occurs when a Sim tries to invite someone over. They dial, I choose the Sim they want to invite, they start the invitation, but then suddenly the phone is hung up and they just stand in front of the phone. Just like the jump bug with the original Sims 2.  It doesn't happen all the time, and usually if I try the invite again straight away I can often get it to work, though sometimes it takes two or three more tries. They have no problem at all when they use the phone to chat.

I've had the problem for some time but I haven't seen anyone else mention it. I know it's nothing to do with JM's marvelous phone hack because I had the problem long before I installed it. This is all on a custom neighborhood.
