26  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Good reason for *not* getting FFS (Family Fun Stuff) on: 2006 April 14, 23:59:23
This pack REALLY sucks.

And I thought the holiday one was bad but it came with some new food, new music, NPCs, and even had some objects with interactions (fireworks, reindeer...).

This pack, on the other hand, is absolutely empty, comes with little content, which is mostly decorative and is very buggy. They actually have included a Nautical "collection" made of six items. This is ridiculous!

I am appalled when I remember the questions Maxis asked in their surveys about the kind of stuff we would like to see in their shopping packs, as it included careers and stuff like that.

Yup, you can get wayyy better stuff for free at some great sites!
27  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB *home* business ideas for the creatively challenged? on: 2006 March 23, 01:57:40
A funerarium selling coffins, flowers (and tombstones? gotta try this) is fun!

Lilith Pleasant also has a goth salon, so that I don't even have to change anything to the guys who get a suposedly "bad" makeover and end up looking like Robert Smith!

Selling flat screens to those moronic townies is also a very nice and easy way to get money.

My plan is to build some sort of laboratory where the townies would pay (ticket machine business) to be tortured, with cowplants, electrocution ect. Now THAT would be lovely Smiley.
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Newer Shinier Comm Skilling hack at MTS2 on: 2006 March 23, 01:47:10
Motoki, I love you!

This is my favorite hack, now having a gym finally makes sense again Smiley
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB and new BodyShop executable on: 2006 March 04, 13:38:56
I'm happy to be back with a fully functioning BS as after the second NL patch, all NL items had disappeared from the program lol
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FFS OFB Compatibility List on: 2006 March 04, 13:33:44
You all talk a lot, but test nothing!

If you would, you would find that with the last phone hack update you can't invite a taxi (only the NL version works), and comm-skilling isn't working anymore (I downloaded the last 5:43 AM version). No one in the community lot has the skill-meter over his head - nor my controllable sim.

...Wake up simmers...Smiley.

I second that, the community lot skilling updated version doesn't work, so I think I won't be playing my gyms for a while Wink.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's your second and third impression of OFB? on: 2006 March 04, 13:32:04
I agree that NL was never a challenge but I just love the cars, new downtown, clubs scene, objects, pleasure aspiration ect. It added a bit of everything.

Bluewater village looks so much like Pleasantview I don't even feel like I have a new EP!

Motoki, I actually want to hire someone to restock but I've not yet met a Sim with a talent badge in that, so I guess I'll have to take the risk to hire someone who's new at it Wink
32  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's your second and third impression of OFB? on: 2006 March 04, 13:02:42
Anyone know if there is a way to check what badges my employees have after I hire them? Sometimes I forget. :p And making them selectable temporarily to peek messes up their employee status and turns them into customers. :p

You can check it out in your business panel, there's a special "employee info" button, it's near the top I think.
33  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's your second and third impression of OFB? on: 2006 March 04, 13:01:03
I'm disappointed because I think it doesn't have many stuff (several things that were in the screenshots weren't included - yeah JM, I know, propaganda Wink) and it's too darn repetitive!

I don't like clicking again and again on customers to perform sales interactions. I had hired a slacker who was great at sales, but as soon as he reached a gold badge, every interaction resulted in minus points, and I have no idea why! He just drove the business to the ground despite being well paid so I had to have my playable Sim do the sales interactions and it's BORING. And there are very little choices offered when you want to hire people, so that someone with a big neighborhood will most likely only get their playable sims proposed although, of course, they don't have a single talent badge!

Clicking on empty shelves to restock and choosing where the items go on the shelves is also tedious. As far as gameplay goes, I think it's about as repetitive as Uni, Superstar and Makin' Magic for stores that sell stuff, although it is more open as you can choose a theme for your store.

I also think it's unrealistic that the Maxis made OFB families started with almost inexistent skills, I think the logic would be to build skills while a kid and teenager and then work at a business when you reach adulthood.

And I'm disappointed that I barely see any new wants and fears apart from the "get a badge" ones.

The new clothes are quite disgusting, I think they outdid themselves lol, especially for the mumsy outfit with the very high waisted pants and baggy shirt. And the gorilla heads and such... ugh.

So far, Nightlife is the best EP IMO.
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: FFS OFB Compatibility List on: 2006 March 03, 20:03:28
Much, much thanks for updating the hacks so fast, I got OFB yesterday and playing without the community lot skilling was already too much of a drag!

Cheers to el bunker man Smiley
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: For those BBS-phobics....there's a new patch out. on: 2006 February 15, 23:11:34
Oh dear. Installed the patch and have two brand new problems cropping up:

1/ The beloved JUMP BUG! Didn't have it before.

2/ All NL have been erased from Bodyshop.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Maxis SUCKS, way to go to make me want to buy OFB fast, ugh what a bunch of useless people.
36  Awesomeware / The Scrapyard / Re: Monday Morning Madness Fix *CRITICAL* *NL* on: 2005 December 17, 14:56:16
Thank you for that, it was much needed! Smiley
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Nightlife food hack? on: 2005 December 17, 14:45:19
I've been searching around for a hack that would enable Sims to cook the NL restaurant foods at home but so far haven't found any.

Is it impossible to have such a hack due to the special nature of the restaurant cooker? Then, would it be possible to hack that special cooker to make it usable at home?

Thanks by advance, my Sims would really enjoy having garlic shrimp and fried chicken at home Smiley.
38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: AMAZING Sims story - with a vampire boyband! on: 2005 November 27, 14:22:51
Seems cool, gonna check it out.

Thanks for the tip! Smiley
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: who or what is MATY? on: 2005 November 26, 20:53:28
I knew some guy who used FANTA but he's the only one I ever heard it from, I don't think it's really used.
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's official: MTS2/SC2 is the 'new Exchange' on: 2005 November 21, 17:30:21
No, was just kidding, he seems too dangerous/asocial for that Wink

Flame throwers or Nanny-bombers could prove to be a good bait though.
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's official: MTS2/SC2 is the 'new Exchange' on: 2005 November 21, 17:20:37
Yeah he must feel the need to suck up now... Too bad, cause we need independent sites, so here's to hoping Pescado will not get an invite so that this place will not morph into TSR3, hey it could, it's already got a very appropriate homepage Wink.
42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's official: MTS2/SC2 is the 'new Exchange' on: 2005 November 21, 17:14:02
Last summer Simmers used the BBS to orchestrate a NL boycott campaign to put pressure on Maxis to make a Uni patch, and also collectively decided to rate down Uni on amazon and different sites of the sort... well the SimMasters were fine with it! They only intervene when there's name calling for ex.

There are anti EA signatures and blogs as well, which I find amusing.

But, back on topic, yup I'm saddened by what MTS2 has become, honestly, has Delphy been paid by Steve or something? Is the change due to the fact that they now get invited to fansites events and previews now?  It sucks anyway, I loved the freedom of speech there was there at the beginning.

For reminders here is what LyricLee posted yesterday:

Quote
DO NOT post here to complain about Maxis charging for content. If you do not want to pay for it, dont buy it.
You can discuss how much you paid but ABSOLUTELY NO BASHING of Maxis, Other sites, Or other people. That is the rule here and always has been the rule here. This is not being harsh- this is being considerate of other peoples feelings be it an individual, other site, or company.

Liar. Ooh I feel so sad for hurting EA's and TSR's feelings! It's much worse than lying to people about what you do with their money, right?
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's official: MTS2/SC2 is the 'new Exchange' on: 2005 November 21, 16:59:36
Honestly, I think TSR is worse than the OS, because there are much more censorship and advertisements.

At least people who think Maxis/EA Games suck can say so on the OS boards, criticize paysites ect, call for boycotts... that would get you banned from TSR, I bet.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The 12 Days of Maxis Christmas - A song on: 2005 November 21, 16:57:24
13 Sim kids in college!
12 ghosts a dripping
11 Santas peeing
10 trees a-flaming
9 eternal pregnancies
8 jump-a-buggies
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: It's official: MTS2/SC2 is the 'new Exchange' on: 2005 November 21, 16:54:16
You mean they're the new TSR? that's undisputed!

Now let's all praise Maxis for their fantastic work on non-buggy games and great shopping packs at an awesome value! And celebrate the poor guys from TSR who pay such high bandwith bills each month and do not, of course, make a penny out of their site... *sigh*
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Can the Gypsy be fixed? on: 2005 November 20, 21:59:44
I sometimes paid 5000 to get a date who was REPELLED by my Sim.

Aah, so much for clairvoyance!
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's getting the x-mas pack? on: 2005 November 20, 15:20:56
Well, then they've got it all wrong because pissing off their customers by selling sub-par products is not going to do the trick.

PS: Hi everyone, another bitter ex-member of MTS2 here Wink
