1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Fix for photograhy issues in WA. UPDATE 2009-12-22: Dropa stones fix. on: 2010 January 02, 15:21:34
Thank you so much for this fix!

I could not believe EA did not think to work on the Riverview buiildings, oh wait a minutes, in fact I did!

And including the beach photography in one of the collections when there is none in Riverview? Nice again EA!

Thanks for fixing their failures!
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So is World Adventures worth it? on: 2009 November 22, 18:53:00
I had no idea about package files and the food spoiling thing, thanks for the info!

So, are there any special files I should consider deleting to get rid of the issue? This problem only showed up after patching and installing WA.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: So is World Adventures worth it? on: 2009 November 22, 14:38:11
Well, I'm playing on my old computer, with only 1 gig of RAM and lots of CC, and it runs well! So much for the horror stories! No bugs nor crashes so far either. Only annoying thing I noticed is that the food now spoils very quickly in the fridges, in less than a day. Dunno if it's the patch or WA though.

As for WA: definitely worth it, as long as you're not one of the RPG gameplay haters, because there's lots of it in the EP. The neighborhoods are great and EA did seem to put a lot of work in the EP on the lots and locals, the new skills are nicely fleshed out, and there's tons more collectibles (new fruits, recipes, fish, rocks, gems, and now relics too).
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no random sims moving into town on: 2009 November 15, 14:20:15
@ Tangie: thanks for the heads up.
Just read the story progression thread on the official forum. It seems that for many Simmers, story progression stops working after a few generations.

So EA did fuck up one of the main features of TS3. Why am I not surprised? Simmers have recommended deleting headstones to help, but the things is apart for the few I've put in the mausoleum I've already deleted all of my sims' graves erm.

Other simmers recommend the NRaas Super Computer to control the population, which seems to help. I'm definitely trying that out and giving you the heads up later!

Ah, I now seem to remember when EA was telling us that the TS3 town would be alive. You'd be in the park, see two Sims flirt together, later learn by reading the paper that they'd gotten married and had children. Lies and propaganda!!  Roll Eyes
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no random sims moving into town on: 2009 November 14, 21:22:20
I have the same issue, except that I don't use any core mods and dind't delete all sims.

Sunset Valley, where I must be at 9th or 10th generation of my family, is a complete ghost town. No Sims have moved in at all for several generations (5/6 gens, I think). AND, the families I add to the game myself to fill it up a bit do not expand. If I create a couple they don't make kids, ever. It's completely weird and sucks the fun out of the game, as the town is empty and stagnant. Even worse since random coworkers/school friends look pretty much identical...

What's weird is that I have a second game with Riverview where story mode is working perfectly well! I'm at my first gen only, since I'm playing that neighborhood on epic length. And I have regular random move ins and move outs, families merging and baby making!

So, I wonder if it has anything to do with the number of generations I've been playing? I noticed since playing the same town in two different games that some "random" move in families were identical and looked premade by EA? Is there something there? Are there still issues with the number of characters in a neighborhood, like in Sims 2?
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Does the Vegetarian Trait affect anything besides food choices? on: 2009 July 02, 10:25:50
Vegetarians tend to live longer because they tend to have a diet with more fruit, veggies, whole grains, and less fat. They are also generally slimmer than carnivores, for the same reasons.

The problem wouldn't be eating protein, but red meat eaten in large quantities, trans fats ect.

My sister doesn't eat meat or fish, but doesn't like veggies at all, she basically survives on pasta and candy, which I doubt will make her live longer Wink.

I'm also someone who doesn't eat meat mainly because I never liked the taste of it, and as another poster said, am also not a fan of industrial farming to say the least.

I think the interactions added regarding the vegetarian Sims are pretty funny. People always like to stereotype vegetarians as annoying preachers whereas my experience is that most people immediately question me and want me to justify why I do not eat meat, as if I am attacking them by choosing to live differently!

I only had one vegetarian Sim and she did live a very long life. She also got a "nauseous" moodlet for hours after she ate a meat sandwich.

7  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Things you DO like... on: 2009 June 23, 10:38:18
Seriously, though? Separate books for kids? Could you not read adult books as a 6? I was reading L.M. Montgomery at 6 (technical age, not Rule of Six). Betty Crocker is hardly James Joyce.

Point taken. But the game does have separate children books. And while I wouldn't blink at seeing a kid bake cookies, I wouldn't envision them making lobster thermidor. So I think it's ok that they have marked differences in the ability to gain skills between kids and teens, though I agree they have probably limited them too much and made that age less interesting, except perhaps for the school opportunities.
8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Things you DO like... on: 2009 June 22, 10:51:43
Okay, then I learnt something new today Smiley.

I didn't know there were cooking books up to level 10, much less mechanics ones in the game!

But I've been playing only a bit, and have been turned off by some nasty bugs which is something I do NOT like in this game (that weird moustache guy that pops up in Sims portraits, having a mum and toddler indefinitely stuck at the end of "learn to talk" interaction, having a family disappear one day after moving them into a new, bigger house - guess my computer just sucks).
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Things you DO like... on: 2009 June 22, 10:32:15
Ha Pescado!

That's probably because I love cooking and know that reading about it and actually making a great meal are two entirely different things. Same with mecanics, I don't know anything about them and am sure reading a book about it wouldn't make me able to repair a TV!

I agree that kids are pretty useless, but toddlers are worse Wink. Guess they will fix that in an upcoming EP with new toys and a piano  Roll Eyes.
10  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Things you DO like... on: 2009 June 22, 10:14:31
I halfway agree with you there. Kids should be able to read about cooking, do gardening, athletics...I did all those things as a 6.

Sorry, I didn't explain myself well. I agree that kids could learn about cooking, from a special kids book. What wasn't realistic in Sims 2 was how you could make your Sim kids and teens skilling machines, reading and learning everything from a book and having maxed everything before turning into an adult!

Now this isn't possible anymore, and I love it. They have added more skills (writing, fishing, creativity being divided between guitar and painting) and you actually have to practice the skills instead of spending hours reading about them, which I definitely see as more realistic, especially for cooking and mecanics. The fact that you can know only some skills, not all of them also helps individualize the Sims.

Sim kids should definitely be able to gain some music and athletic points though.
11  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Things you DO like... on: 2009 June 21, 10:49:47
-The Sims, OK they do look puddingy but they're a vast improvement over Sims 2 Goopy-like creatures. The clothes are better too, no awful trousers with flames horrors that EA usually loves to do.
-CAST, so many possibilities without clogging the game!
- The more complex aspiration system, jobs and opportunities make the game more interesting.
-The fact that it's harder than Sims 2, money is not as easy to come by and skills are not so easily acquired, is a good thing. Kids not being able to read about cooking is more realistic IMO.
12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 07, 13:09:39
I'd happily donate Smiley.

I didn't know we could buy tems with paypal or a cash card, let me check on this! Edit: apparently not for those outside the US or Canada either.
13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 07, 11:53:35
ReinyDay, I'd love to buy items from the Sims2Store except EA won't let me because I'm not from the US or Canada! That's why I don't even feel bad for them that simmers are sharing their items, I don't understand this restriction?
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 06, 14:31:24
Mmmmm the post on he first page does not mention the child outfits, but I don't think anyone has included them yet?

The harakuju outfits for the little girls are very cute!

Baaaaaaaaa to all the awesome people on here!
15  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2008 February 06, 13:10:49
Thank you very much, Madam Mim, I'll be sure to download them Smiley.
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2008 February 04, 10:45:30
Hee! yes, it's a Pescado warning not to update a long dead topic, but I thought this was a worthy update Wink

Thank you so much for working on it, using all your and dewshine's geneticized skins has really spiced up my game as the genetics aspect of the Sims 2 may be the only reason I'm still playing it!

I'm very happy that Enayla's back in the community, her work on the Pixie skins is exceptional, IMO Smiley.
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2008 February 03, 18:52:18
Haha! I loved the necromancy warning, Beautiful Smiley.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you talented peeps that Enayla has posted new items over at Insim, including a new skin set, and she's planning to update some more.

So, if any of you were interested in geneticizing them too... *hint hint* make my life complete  Tongue
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Blue Screen of Doom on: 2007 September 09, 11:45:08
I have the same issue.

The latest NVIDIA driver had fixed the problem but with BV the infamous blue screen of death issue has returned.

EA really sucks at life, I cannot understand how they wouldn't check on one of the most largely known issues before releasing their latest EP. I'm tired of giving money to this inept firm.
19  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2007 July 28, 11:00:59
Thanks, there are quite a few unavailable Enayla skins there Smiley.
20  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2007 July 21, 17:49:38
I think these skins and eyes are Enayla's last creations, yes, and members of her now offline forum also made recolours of them.

I'm in love with these, but I'll guess we'll have to be patient, I haven't seen them uploaded anywhere else so far!
21  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Anyone want Enayla's Fanasty skins as Genetics? (Added Normal skins) on: 2007 July 16, 19:55:49
Great! I've downloaded all the "normal" skins and eyes and will add the fantasy ones when I get bored of the new addition.

I wanted, sheepishly but shamelessly to ask if anyone had the last Enayla eyes and skins, which were only available at her website for a short time (http://www.furiae.com/images2/monochrome/firstpage.html). PM me!  Kiss
22  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Crash after accidental delete of a Maxis mesh on: 2006 December 14, 15:00:44
Thanks for all your quick answers, I'll guess I'll have to manually check which CC content can be handled by the game after my delete, though it doesn't seem to be much at all.

This issue is really weird, for example all the Maxis default eyebrows started being indicated as CC as well, although I haven't downloaded any eyebrow files in six months!

There must have been one bad apple which caused problems with a whole bunch of files, then, I'll check but I haven't downloaded much lately, except for Peggy's hair and clothes.
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Crash after accidental delete of a Maxis mesh on: 2006 December 14, 12:00:43
Here, awesome ones, I'm having Sim issues and am coming to you to check if they can be overcome without the dreaded "starting over from scratch" solution.

A couple of weeks ago, in BS, some of the Maxis defaults started being indicated with a star as if they were considered as CC.

Well, of course, I accidentally deleted an ugly Maxis mesh, the ugly blue sporty adult female dress, and my game isn't too happy with it.

Both BS and CAS crash after that.

I've tried doing a reinstall of the last EP (pets), and the game works fine, but as soon as I add back my CC in its Downloads folder, boom it crashes again.

Mmmm, I just don't understand why BS would crash after adding back content, if the problem comes from the fact that I have accidentally erased a Maxis item in BS.

I don't have any CC recolors of that ugly dress either!

Does anyone have any ideas to try and solve this stupid problem? I can't imagine playing without any CC!
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Peggy Sims - worth the subscription? on: 2006 April 17, 01:56:34
I've donated once and it was fine, I'm very happy with the downloads and the communication. I had browser problems, couldn't log in with Explorer, had to use Mozilla then had a cookie problem, the webmistress was very nice and reset an account for me.

I'd say you're likely to get better support than on TSR for instance Wink.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Good reason for *not* getting FFS (Family Fun Stuff) on: 2006 April 15, 15:30:46
Adding to the crappiness, it seems that the community lot skilling doesn't work now *sigh*. I'll start the game once more to check it out though.

I hate that there's so little content in this pack and that the fairytale room set should so obviously have been included in OFB which had the fairytale build set but in softer (prettier IMO) colors.

The one thing I DO like about this pack, though are the new kiddie clothes and meshes, especially the monster PJs. Otherwise, it's a big disappointment and certainly not worth the money.
