376  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims not queueing up 'cry softly?' on: 2005 December 16, 04:59:46
Alright, I just had another elder die of old age about ten minutes ago. Even though both her grandson and daughter in law were doing nothing, they were just standing in the corner of the lot, grandma came home from work and promptly died. Her son, who also came out of the same carpool, did queue up 'cry softly' and he actually did it too...of course another grandson comes downstairs and sees some roaches and bawls like a baby.

Wow, now I'm confused.

I had a "cry softly" queue once - and I paniced and runned to search for a dead  sim, as nobody was bound to die  for now.

For my surprise, the "cry softly" was queued when Mortimer made out with his new bride in front of Alexander and Cassie. Not "embarrssed", just "cry softly".

Weird...Smiley.
I've had cry softly in those situations too. Benjamin Long had just married his stepson's widowed wife, and his kids and her kids did the 'cry softly' thing. Of course they didn't queue it up when he died. His stepson did though. He was the only person in the entire neighbourhood who has cried at an old age death.

In my most recent deaths by old age, sim no longer get cry softly in their queue. They'll drop everything and run for any other causes of deaths (like when Meadow eletrocuted herself at her son's birthday party) but for old age, they won't queue it up even if they are in the same room. E.g, recently, two elderly sims were kissing in the bathroom, they finish and Grim Reaper comes. She just stood there and complained that she couldn't get to the toilet because the Hula Dancer was in the way. After a few more seconds, she peed herself. She then complained her dead husband's urn was in the way of the shower. No-one else in the house queued it up either. (Her son and daughter in law were attacking each other again, so at least they were preoccupied...) Of course, this situation repeats itself often (not the stuckage, but the crying, or lack thereof)

Their complete indifference just gets to me. Sure, they cry later, but that just interrupts them when they're doing useful things.

Thanks, I entered the intProp line into my userstartup.cheat file. Now my sims may actually have proper outings again. (Although recently outings seem to consist of a mutual lover of the iviter and the invitee, but that's probably becuase my sims usually end up falling in love with their best friends)

So using the potty is bad because they need to be emptied into the trash and if you get hungry enough and have to eat from the trash can...........*shudder*  Lips sealed

Oh, yuck! But what does sim trash consist of anyway? I suck at this challenge, not because screaming, starving toddlers get to me, but because I'm having problems getting the baby to the toddler stage. And without cake, it can call for some very glitchy age transitions...

Well mine must be set uber low then, go to a diner with one cook, one podium dude and one waiter, add my sim and date and suddenly its overloaded? Which makes no sense at all to me because the first lot was fine, its the second lot that the date takes off - granted the first lot is usually a bowling alley or coffee shop.

Yeah, that's the same problem I've been having. There's no one there, apart from the NPC's and maybe one or two visiting sims, if I'm lucky. And I've played up to 20 something people on residental lots...so whats the cheat to increase the number of visiting sims?

As soon as the party is about to end, have them both procrastinate. Procrastination is your friend! Then you can click on the limo and tell them to get in. They should go.
But you can't click on the limo! Isn't that the problem? Unless you're reffering to something else. It's too late at night and my head doesn't seem to be working.

I have this problem too, but usually by sims doing stupid activites at the last minute. One sim guy decided having a pillow (well, fish) fight with his mother was much more important the going into the limo with his newly wed wife. I could turn free will off, but then I'd forget to turn it on again, and then my sims would just stand there 'til they starved to death.

I've been lurking here for a while, and am now finally posting since I have a problem that is annoying the heck out of me. The thing is whenever one of my sims is invited for an outing downtown, when the lot loads and everyone gets out of the taxi, everyone but the last two sims to arrive will just walk to the edge of the lot, they still retain the plumbobs, but they'll just walk right off the lot, and if I hover over them it just says 'there are no interactions available'. I saw these people come out of the taxi! It happens with multiple people in multiple neighbourhoods. Three people isn't a outing.

It also happens with dates as well, unless the date is started at home. If I use the 'ask a date' option on the phone, the other person accepts, the dialogue pops up as usual, the downtown lot loads, and the date meter pops up as usual, but the date will just walk off the lot, and the date metre will just disappear. Very annoying.

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?
