I'm glad you found your problem as well. I don't understand the conflict either.

I will PM Sara, thanks for suggesting it. Smiley

I don't know! I have never knowingly downloaded careers yet, so I am assuming it was some sort of babysitter hack.

The only babysitter hack I was aware of in my game was dizzys sitter1f and as far as I know the two are not related. At any rate, I removed both of them, to be on the safe side.

Edit: I just noticed we have a SaraMK here as a member. Maybe it is hers?
378  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Object Error" when loading lots on: 2005 October 25, 20:32:21
Nothing like posting a problem to bring out the detective in me Tongue

I removed my Downloads4 folder (the last "batch" of downloads) and the problem disappeared. I put it back, the problem reoccurred. So that narrowed it down at least. I then arranged all the files by date modified and at the top of the list was SaramkirkChildCareTeen.package. I removed it on a hunch. Relaunched the game and now all is well.

That's what I get for downloading willy-nilly. I normally add things one at a time, but I had so many things collected to d/l; I added them all at once.

Anyway, problem solved for me. Venusy, do you have this particular download? I don't recall where I got it.
379  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / "Object Error" when loading lots on: 2005 October 25, 19:37:11
Hi all. Wondering if anyone might be able to help me on this. Sunday, I went on a downloading spree, as I do every Sunday Grin

Anway, after starting up the game and loading a family to place them in the neighborhood, I got an Object Error. The only option I had to get rid of it so the lot would load was "delete". Cancel and Reset did nothing. This is what the error says:

Error occurred in object "Job Data-Teen Elder-Athletics" 235. Error: Invalid Constant. Stack trace saved in C:/Doc/name/My Doc/EAgames/TheSims2/Logs/Object Error._Noo1_t########.txt." (This number changes of course, depending on what lot I am loading.) Happens on all lots, including downtown.

Once I got into a lot, I noticed Don Lothario had a want to retire and have a family reunion, although he is 22 days from being an elder. I moved him, bull dozed the lot and those wants went away. Not sure if that's relevant or not. Undecided

I thought at first it might be the sitter1f. of dizzy's, so I removed it, but no change. The error continues to pop up.

I decided to post here for possible solutions before removing all of my downloads. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Actually I think the book you are referring to is "From a Buick 8" by Stephen King. If I recall correctly, Christine was a '50s model Ford.

You are right. I am reading that book right now. I love Stephen King. Smiley

I learned from the BBS that it is very difficult to learn anything at all from the BBS, unless you use the Search Tool and sort by Highest Rated.
Even then, the results are somewhat dubious. Undecided

I just had a sim get the want fulfilled when she married a sim with 48K in the "bank", but he also had a fully furnished house in the 50K bracket.

ROFLMAO! Grin Ahhhhh..the consipiracy theories! Cheesy Maybe he dicided that being "retired" is too boring and decided for a "comeback" to his old career?

Lately I've been thinking the whole "old-man-with-long-long-long-bead" thing is a cover up! I bet he's a skinny, small fourteen year old full of zits with glasses like goggles, braces (one of those that go aLL the way around the head) with this HUGE head beacuse of his HUGE brain (double the size of his skinny, small body) with all kinda info stored in it..Wink Tongue And now his parents are onto his secret lab.. Grin

Yeah, I KNOW this is farfetched, but if the alternative is imagineing his saggy manhoood.... Shocked argh! I'll stick to my story... Grin Wink

Haha, I get this weird picture of a walking Candy Apple wearing glasses. Tongue
Maybe he is Will Wright. That would be a hoot. Nah, Wright goes out in public, so that's out. Undecided
383  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NL Cemetary Tombstone Problem (Possible Fix) on: 2005 October 09, 18:18:51
I made a cute little cemetary in one of my NL neighborhoods and went to a family I've been playing for many generations (so there are about 10 tombstones on the lot).  After I moved the tombstones to my new cemetary, I thought that I could go into the cemetary lot in build mode and move the tombstones where I wanted.  I was wrong -- the tombstones are not there.  When I visit with a sim, the tombstones are there gathered around the pay phone / trash can.  The problem here is that I can't get into build or buy mode in order to move them.

Just for fun, I tried entering the "boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false" cheat while my sim was visiting the cemetary.  It didn't enable build mode, but buy mode was enabled, and that was enough for me to be able to move the tombstones where I wanted.

Just thought I'd share this with folks in case you're having the same problem with cemetaries and tombstone placement.  Perhaps this will get fixed in the NL patch or someone will make a nice hack.

The Prima Guide mentions that it is important to "save" after you move the tombstones, or they won't be there when you go to the cemetery. In other words, the grave will return to it's original lot. Probably common sense, but thought I'd mention it.
384  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Jump bug, even with the fix on: 2005 October 09, 18:06:20
Playing plain old Sims 2, no expansions.  I have most of Pescado's hacks installed, no others, including the chatfix.  In my new neighborhood, one of the two families suddenly has the jump bug.  I believe I even know when it occurred - I had 2 sims playing with the toddler using the rabbit head (so three sims total).  I tried to have 2 more join them, and everyone "jumped" out of their actions.  I've had a few of them jump since.  Also, just today I noticed one of them with the scratchy lines memory though bubble - that's a sure sign of the jump bug, yes?

The problem is, I have the chatbug fix installed, and in fact have had it since day one, so I'm not sure why this family would have the bug.  Does the hack simply prevent the bug from spreading via memory, but not from actually occurring?  Any help would really be appreciated.  I guess I could start the family over, if I have to. (The lot will still be ok to use, correct?  If I just get rid of the family?)  I'd rather not resort to restarting, but if I have to, I have to.

the scratchy lines was usually corrupt death memories if my memory is not corrupted.  Wink  So the nocorruptdeathfix would be what you needed.  Also, I think I've read here that it can result from a corrupted objects.package file.

C

That's true. When Mrs. CrumpleBottom was bitten in my game, (unbeknownst to me until after the fact), I had the scratchy lines, until I overwrote the object.package file.
385  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to achieve LTW of golden anniversary on: 2005 October 09, 18:03:50
My Sims just reached their golden anniversary this evening, but only one got the memory marker for it. Is it only for family Sims who want to reach it, and does it have to be a LTW to get the marker? They both have the memory marker for a great party, they rather humorous - the husband has the driveway as the inset pic and the wife has a bottle of elixir, but only the one has the two golden bells memory. Did the husband miss out on a nice memory or does he just not care (he's Knowledge, if that matters)?

Yes, it is a Family Aspiration. Knowledge sims couldn't care less, apparently. Undecided

Every time I click on mine it says "No actions available" or something to that effect. I'll try moving it around to see if that helps.

I had just the opposite problem. My hair, skins, earrings, etc. wouldn't show. but the objects do?

391  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Preferrable Houses on: 2005 September 30, 04:14:53
I prefer a medium sized house that is at least partially furnished. I too, like to see how others decorate. I tend to change it, but it's fun to get an idea of some else's tastes.

I don't care for crazy terrain, flat is fine with me. Easier for the gardner.
392  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Submit Issues about Nightlife on: 2005 September 29, 21:38:54
I have an issue where someone will call my sim to go downtown, the taxi comes, the sim gets in, the downtown screen loads but when downtown shows up it is in build/buy mode and there is no sim/taxi in sight.

I have to go back to the neighborhood. The sim is there on the lot, getting out of the taxi as if he has been downtown and his "outing meter" is still running.

Thanks, Maxoid Tom

I believe we've fixed some of these issues in the NL patch, but please submit these using for form I referenced at the beginning of this thread.

Thanks again, will do.  Smiley

I switched from a ATI Radeon 5200 series to a PNY Geforce 6600 GT AGP 128 with a core clock speed of 500 and the difference is between night and day. I also removed my old 512 memory and added two Kingston 512 3200 (400HZ DDR) and now my game is smoking.

Well, let's see, I have a brown head parrot named Mikey, two parrotlets named charlie and T-Lo. I used to have another brown head and a cockatiel named Modem, but they flew away. I would love to have a small dog, like a Yorkie or Tea Cup Maltese. My Maltese Lizzie died in January. Now I am sad.

I don't have toe jam, but I like to jam to "toe the wet sprocket". Wink

Ok, goodnight, John Boy. Smiley

Yeah, I removed all hacks and my interactions are all there. I have since installed the college clock and Merola's painting and they work just fine. I mish my custom hair though, I have all these women walking around bald, hehe. Nothing a trip to the mirror shouldn't fix. Cheesy
