101  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: no cc with new patch?? on: 2009 December 20, 16:37:40
So people with bad grammar or poor reading skills should be ignored?

Yes.  Acquire those skills or go to Yahoo! Answers for help.
102  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Has anyone else broken their game as badly as this? on: 2009 December 20, 08:01:41
I did that by moving the number/letter .packages from the DCBackup folder to Mods after installing Riverview the first time.
I don't have any of those anywhere.  I did so much weird stuff trying to get it to work, they might have been in mods at some point, but they are certainly not there now.

But Gwill, your saves might be permanently broken because usually once you see blue lots error you can't go back - even if you didn't hit save. So, hopefully you have backup save files somewhere to restore them.

The problem is still happening, so I don't think going back to an older save will work.  If I create a brand new Sunset Valley, the same thing happens.  Whatever's causing my borkiness is still there.
103  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Has anyone else broken their game as badly as this? on: 2009 December 19, 23:10:59

I was trying to get Riverview working after the patch, and something or other caused this to happen.
Now Riverview works just fine, but all other neighbourhoods have the shell of the Riverview terrain floating above it.
The picture is of Egypt, but the same thing happens in China, France and Sunset Valley.

Does anyone have any idea what I might have done to cause this, or how it might be fixed?
104  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / World of Puddings / Fat Gwilly Sim on: 2009 December 19, 13:25:18

Fat Gwilly people have considerably more chest (and a bit less belly) than an unmodified CAS allows.  Feel free to size up if you have that kind of mods installed.

  • Easily Impressed
  • Grumpy
  • Hates the Outdoors

Can children pre-skill athletic?  They can swim in the pool and work out with the stereo.

I've noticed that children can be tutored in skills they could not otherwise learn.

Sea Foam 0EE6DE ███

that looks nothing like sea foam in game.  It should be a sort of cloudy white.
108  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugged pond on home lot on: 2009 August 07, 09:33:47
I'm pretty sure my problems started before the patch and the patch was supposed to fix it...  The patch is doing something to fish in ponds, but Glod knows what.
109  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Bugged pond on home lot on: 2009 August 06, 12:37:21
I have this problem on several lots.  One is a copy the fish hatchery moved from Riverview to the other hood (whatever it's called).  The other is a residential lot I built myself, which has also been packaged and re-placed.
I've leveled ground on the home lot and re-ponded it, but the problem still remains.  The hatchery I buldozed and re-placed an is working now.
High-fishing skill sims get no options at all.  Lower fishing skill sims get the options, but then throw "unexpected object reset" and drop their queue.

I'm guessing this is related to the "Stocked ponds are properly preserved when shared." fix in the latest patch.
110  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Red CAS and colored graves on: 2009 July 23, 07:42:06
I love the grave idea.  The red and blue one looks a bit on the bright side, but I'll give it a go.
111  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Sims Store Add On's on: 2009 May 29, 18:49:59
I'm getting error when a  (sloppy) sim somehow tries to stow books into or onto the bookshelf/coffeetable.
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Need help tewaking EAxis clothing on: 2009 May 14, 11:26:36
Did I forget to say? Version 0x00000001 and product 0x00000001 removes CC-star, but does not help enable for YA.

This always happens to me, just as I get around to asking, I find something that works.
I don' know how or why it works, but version 0x00000006 and product 0x00000001 seems to do the trick.  Will do more testing.
113  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Need help tewaking EAxis clothing on: 2009 May 14, 11:03:51
I fiddle with things; I've hidden, unhidden, re-categorized, age-enabled and otherwise messed with most of the EAxis outfits, and I mostly know what I'm doing.  I keep the modified files in the Overrides folder, not in downloads, but I don't believe that actually makes any difference (my tests show no difference).
The problem is when altering Base Game outfits, they won't work for Young Adults.  I set the age to 48 (which works for all other EP outfits).
I'm pretty sure it has to do with flag/version/product number.
BG outfits do not have a version number, but adding one with simEP is no problem.
If I set flag to 0x00000010, version to 0x00000003 and product to 0x00000000, the clothes show up, but with a CC star (which is unacceptable to by OCD). This is the configuration some of the free maxis downloads use.  Setting the flag right is for some reason essential for correct townification.
TSstore outfits have flag 0x00000000, version 0x00000006, product 0x0000000D, no CC-star (or other EP mark) and do work for YA, but appear in front of all other EPs in the catalogue, not at the end where the base game outfits should go.
I understand that dumping the files in "\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins" or some such like will take away the star, but I'm looking for a way to FIX the problem, not work around it.

Does anyone know how this works?  Or know of a combo that will remove the CC star, keep it in the BG section of the catalogue and enable for YA?
I hope someone at least understand what the hell I'm going on about.

I have an undiscovered shiny for prodding ghosts into appearing at will, but Fat Gwilly People haven't asked.

Does it work on community lots?
* Gwill wants!
*jumps up and down*  Release shiny!
115  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: robot has no clothes on: 2009 April 24, 19:44:17
I have a replacement.  The male servo formal outfit looks quite nice.
116  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: robot has no clothes on: 2009 April 23, 21:53:57
Click on servo > Change Into > Formal.
There's your dress.  That's the only way that outfit should be accessed.
117  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Business sucks... on: 2009 April 23, 21:43:29
Literally.

I do not believe you.
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Magic Wand question on: 2009 April 21, 21:29:07
You don't really need to wave it around.

Yes you do!  You also have to make "swish-swosh" noises and finsh with a small "whee!".
That's what I do anyway, and it's always worked for me.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: the fighting skill, can be changed ??? on: 2009 April 18, 08:49:37
With thefightclub.package winning fights also increases battle skill.  So does losing, but not by much.
I don't remember exactly, and can't be bothered to check the FM.
120  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you edit memories? on: 2009 April 08, 09:45:56
If all you want is a picture of the kiss, you could use the all options cheat thingy.
121  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating CC Vanity? on: 2009 April 08, 09:44:17
I'm guessing there are some options missing on old vanity tables.  I never bothered with them myself...
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.  That's how one finds stuff out.
122  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Flashing Blue Accessories on: 2009 April 04, 12:48:09
That's not a fix.  It's barely a band aid.
123  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No locals generating in vacation land on: 2009 March 24, 13:44:56
Hypothetical approach: Can you not, say, send your sims on vacation, install them in a hotel, save, exit game, and then remove notownieregen, go back into the game to your "on vacation" sims, and let the game generate locals for a bit.  When you have enough for your taste, you can reinstall notownieregen.

1) Would this work?

I'm not sure whether it would generate locals, but it will generate a buttload of tourists.
124  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Disappearing Wants on: 2009 February 21, 23:47:44
Probably hack conflict.
Do binary search.
125  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Notownieregen & similars installed, yet new townies are created every time. on: 2009 February 19, 23:27:14
63 residents with the number: 0x0000  - who are these?
0x0000 is the default family; grim reaper and all that.  63 seems like too many unless your hood has a lot of dead sims.
More on Family IDs: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,9932.0.html

I wonder if its safe to add clean template neighborhoods for the shopping center, nightlife, university and vacations to my normal hood to prevent more unnessecaries?
Of course it is safe.  If you haven't already that explains why your hood is full of crap.
Delete and start over.
