51  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Blank Icons on: 2006 July 19, 19:21:06
I recently got OFB and did a fresh install (I have all expansions except Family fun pack).

I created a few families and thought I'd try something new and have a household with mostly townies (semi decent looking ones at least) and having some problems.

One sim wants to be friends with herself.  It comes up in her want section almost everyday and I have no idea why.  Secondly, sometimes when I go into buy mode it is completely blanked out - as in there is no icons at all.  Thought it was a graphic problem but even if I try click on it (to see if it might just not be showing up) nothing happens.  I tried to restart the game, sometimes it goes back to normal and sometimes it does the blank icon problem again.

The hacks that I use are only from J.M, Twojeffs and a few from Inge.

So my question is this, could this be a mod problem or has anyone else experienced this? I'm just wondering if it might be an idea to just re-install, since it's in the early stages.
52  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Well. Maybe I'll keep Mr. Big around after all. on: 2006 February 14, 05:55:48
I had a Cas sim married to Mr. Big once, actually he makes a great parent.  He became best friends with both her kids in short amount of time.  I wasn't planning on letting her keep him long (she needed the money) but I grew to like him so much that they had twins and lived happily ever after Tongue

Oh and when they married he did have a crush on the Diva too.  I noticed that another Mr. Big was spawned after he married.  Looked a lil different from the original I had tho.
53  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Crammyboye Archives / Re: No Community lot food serve. on: 2006 February 14, 05:48:04
This is great! Highly annoying when sims go up and down 1-2 flight of stairs carrying plates to serve :/

Ty Ty!
54  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My experiences with creating townies on: 2006 February 13, 19:05:32
That's a great idea Angelyne!  I already installed 2 weeks ago tho Sad

Oh well, guess I'll wait till OFB comes out, most likely that will be my next install.
55  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My experiences with creating townies on: 2006 February 13, 18:55:49
I was thinking about doing this for my new installed game.  Not sure if I have the patience to do all of it tho.  I just managed to sort all downloads (went through them all again and placed them properly etc).

The only thing I can think of the top of my head, the last time I used the deleteallcharacters (which was like way back when only original TS2 was out) it did delete all of the characters but it also deleted all the characters of a newly made neighbourhood after that.

So I was wondering if that is the way it's supposed to work? Because I might not want to have all of the characters deleted in all the neighbourhoods I decide to create later.
56  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for SimCribbling Skintones on: 2006 February 13, 18:36:43
Sorry Sad I thought I had them but I must of deleted.  I do have the first three of his older skin tones tho (the ones with the necklace).  I guess I got them confused with the new ones.

57  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for SimCribbling Skintones on: 2006 February 13, 07:36:15
I *should*  have copies of those skins on my laptop (if I remember correctly).  I have someone using it right now, but as soon as I can check I should be able to send them.
58  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Reputable lot-specific jealousy tweaker? on: 2006 February 12, 03:50:52
I know the Inseminator has that option, I use it on some of my lots and it works perfectly.

Not quite sure if it works on a community lot (as I've never tried it myself) but I don't see why not.

59  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a no trash obsession hack? on: 2006 February 10, 19:05:34
I would like this hack too.  I don't have a problem with them taking out the trash say once a day, but if you have something go into the trash often and you have a sim that tries to take it out all the time it gets annoying.

It would of been better if the trash got full after using it a few times (makes sense).
60  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default eye replacements on: 2006 February 10, 18:44:03

These are the ones that I am currently using too.  Although the eyes are a tad too big and bright for my taste.  I like Barcelona's eyes but  they're a lil small and not quite bright enough.  Guess I'm real picky too!

I really like some of exnems eyes.  I had to download a whole bunch but suprisingly there are a few shades in there that are very nice.  I don't think anyone has made any defaults out of his creations.

I'll be keeping an eye out on this thread too, incase someone knows where there may be nicer ones.  Either way tho, look on the bright side, anything is better than the default maxis eyes!
61  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: still some surprises... on: 2006 February 10, 17:15:21
I have some outgoing sims, who will just walk right in and make themselves at home (watch tv/soak tub etc) without ringing the doorbell.

I didn't know about the yoga or the rug, I'll have to try those.

I always like these kind of threads because usually there are many things we haven't discovered yet.

The most recent thing that I discovered was that sims can peek into vampire's coffins while they are asleep, and the sim peaking gets scared Tongue I'm quite sure that many people know this but I only noticed it recently. Always a suprise when you've had the game for like 4-5 months and just find something new.

62  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Autonomous Flirts More Frequent in NL? on: 2006 February 08, 21:14:41
In my game the sims always autonomously flirt (after checking out a sim and they have a gender preference) but I've noticed that the townies will flirt with sims regardless of them being in a relationship or not.

I've also noticed that if you have an engaged or married sim, they will autonomous flirt on comm lots if they have like a 3 bolt going on with another sim.  It's rare but it does happen.
63  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Valentine's Day Maxis Content on: 2006 February 08, 21:07:49
Well, the teddy is kind of cute, the painting not so bad.  The glasses and hairdo is horrible :/

Personally I think the women give out more gifts, or like to.  Men tend to get a lil lazy when buying gifts imo.
64  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Does This Sim Scare The Bejesus Outta You? on: 2006 February 08, 20:22:16
I would say that it's just the gap between her nose and mouth that makes her look a lil odd.  I would use plastic surgery on her myself if she was my sim, but only make subtle changes by lifting her chin, mouth and nose slightly.
65  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: For those BBS-phobics....there's a new patch out. on: 2006 February 08, 19:50:38
I just had a fresh install a couple of days ago and haven't really played yet.  So I'll install this patch when I get home and see how it goes.
66  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What must NOT be put into inventory? on: 2006 February 06, 20:33:28
I can never place beds etc near walls even if I save/exit lot.  Moveobject does the trick for me.

As for cars I've never had a problem either, maybe because I usually ever have one car per family and don't assign it to anyone in particular.

I've moved basically everything including furniture, electronics, you name it I've moved it Tongue with no problems.

Oh and I noticed that piano's can't be placed against the wall either just like the beds.
67  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Change Appearances? on: 2006 February 06, 18:56:42
The only way you can change skintone is via Simpe, although there could be other ways I'm not sure.

Webby: http://sims.ambertation.de/en//

I put default skins in my game, that way all the townies/npc's look semi decent now.  I use the Simcribbling's Defaults from MTS2 which work great for me.
68  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: helpful ghosts on: 2006 February 06, 18:43:08
I have yet to even get a friendly ghost. They all come back mean. Most of the time I'm forced to delete their tombstone because of their antics. I really thought I'd like having ghosts because I love ghost stories but they're really  more of an annoyance to me.

Likewise.  I recently had a grandparent pass away, who acheived two lifetime wants. I didn't sell the beds or anything, but 2 days after he died, he went to scare a couple of the grandchildren with which he had relationship scores of 100/100.

I just think if a sim who dies of old age in platinum and has had a perfect overall life etc, they shouldn't be so mean.  That being said, I've never had a helpful ghost in my game, even though almost all my sims have at least 5+ in neatness.
69  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Greet me, Kiss me, Kill you... on: 2006 February 05, 19:38:05
Personally I really like the Inteen, it adds alot of realism that suits my playstyle *waves J.M Tongue*

It does add the "go steady" and "committed relationships" which is really great.  Make sure you read all the guidelines tho, cos most of the complaints come from people who haven't read it well enough and think they have bugs etc..

70  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Change into formal" object anywhere? on: 2006 January 31, 21:02:28
Yes I have to admit the most annoying problem for me is the fact that almost everyone turns up on community lots in work clothes.

Before I would make sure to change the clothes of the sims before exiting the lots, so that the next time they have normal clothes on.

Now I just use Inge's doors on all my houses so they change to normal as soon as they walk into the house.  What is strange is that even if you save them in normal clothing before exiting some sims still show up in work clothes regardless....

I just love seeing some of my elders in Captian Hero's outfits dancing at the local nightclubs Tongue Anyways would love a painting/vase etc that would help with this issue  Smiley

71  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Family Reunion Memories Have Driveway Pictures. on: 2006 January 31, 16:33:20
The only time I've gotten it is when I had anniversary parties and had relatives invited.  It probably works the same way for having a party as well.

72  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife and Twins on: 2006 January 30, 16:59:47
Oooohhhh! Can i have them, please?Huh? Grin I would treat them real nice in my game!:D Grin

oooh - I've only just read this thread.  If you still have them Issy, can I have them too?

Actually I do have a copy of him on my laptop that I transfered from my main PC long ago.  The main neighbourhood he was in perished awhile back Tongue
Just pm me ure email and I'll send it to you Smiley
73  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is the Reaper tougher to beat? on: 2006 January 29, 19:42:31
Ive never had a failure either.  That's quite interesting.  I always thought the *save from death* was boring cos you could always plead for the life of the loved one.

Guess Ill have to try it more often Smiley

74  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: City of Heroes on: 2006 January 29, 19:27:03
I dont play City of Heroes, but I was thinking about trying it recently.  Is it any good? Ive played other online games before (UO, Daoc) and would love to try something new.

75  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Default Replacement Skins on: 2006 January 29, 19:20:26
I think the default replacements I use are from SimCribbing (modified to be default by someone on MTS2).

Thats exactly the one I use, Im quite happy with it.  Cannot remember who made the replacements though.
