Thanks for this, it's certainly covered many questions I had.

This may sound silly but, how do you know if a sim is poor?  Is there something that I'm missing cos I can't seem to tell the difference at all.

That does look pretty awful.  Can someone say ewwww ;p
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Glamour question on: 2006 September 07, 16:40:22
I got it a few days ago.  I don't think it's worth the $20 ;p

If you like the idea of glamour type things then it'd be worth getting if it's on sale.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Assign Baby To" hack..? Possible or Not? on: 2006 September 05, 18:01:12
Recently I put the baby harrassment mod in simply because it was unbearable.  I've been using/making apartments, so as soon as a couple have a baby I had all other residents standing outside the door trying to pick the baby up :/

The baby thingy is bugged though.  You feed the baby (or someone esle feeds it) as soon as you put the baby in the crib, the same sim will come take out the baby and feed it again.  I even tried feeding ababy like 2-3 bottles after one another to see if they would do the same thing and they do.  Seems like nothing checks to see if the baby is hungry or not, they just keep trying to feed a baby who just ate.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: DEATH & DESTRUCTION to Lobster Thermidor on: 2006 August 18, 19:26:33
Well I had one sim with all his skills but he LOVED lobster thermidor..thats all he would make. The only trouble with that is ..He ALWAYS started fires.

I don't know if some sims are naturally clumsy but I have 2-3 sims in my neighbourhood that burn food 80% of the time. One of them actually had 6 icons after one another of burnt food (mind you this sim has 5 cooking points) and can't even make a grilled cheese sammich without burning it Tongue

I need to check if those sims share a mutual starsign or something heh.

Thanks for the replies.  Don't know how but some of the items that I stored in the inventory turned out to be buggy after I placed them to the new lot.  Very strange that it never happened before.

I just replaced all the furniture and everything is fine now. You were right T.J Smiley
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Weird bug? on: 2006 August 17, 08:18:54
Earlier I moved out a family to a new home (via move out from neighbourhood view) and placed them in a house I built myself.

Now strange things are happening:

-Sims are just dropping things like after a few seconds (like if holding a newspaper, drops to the floor)
-I even tried skillinator cleaning and after putting the helmet thingy and scan, after few seconds the items are just on the floor.
-They seem to move around a bit too (like I'll click on something to target and they will jump from that spot to another spot instantly to the next tile or so.

I checked two other families and they seem fine.  Do I need to move them out and in again?  Anyone ever have that problem and know what could be causing it?
34  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: DEATH & DESTRUCTION to Lobster Thermidor on: 2006 August 17, 08:09:48
I try not to get my sims that high a level in cooking, simply because every 2 days they need to stock up on food :/

35  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Clothing Mesh Causes Crash When Purchasing Community Lot (confirmed) on: 2006 August 16, 23:13:22
The top she was wearing was made by Boutique Emilie, meshElauAFPantsWaistedHeels.package is the mesh.

You can find the top at http://www.boutiqueemilie.net/be_sale.htm, it's the second top on the top row (black long sleeved) in women everyday section.

Reason I didn't think it was a top earlier was because I downloaded this long ago but just didn't have any of my sims wear it yet.  Still not sure if this is the problem though.  I tried having her look at the newspaper for a job again and sometimes it crashes and sometimes it doesn't.

Guess I'll just remove the top entirely and see if that was causing the problem.
36  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Clothing Mesh Causes Crash When Purchasing Community Lot (confirmed) on: 2006 August 16, 22:13:42
Well my game just crashed twice after one of my sims tried to look for a job using the newspaper.  I know that I didn't download any of these tops so I'm not quite sure what it could be.

Last few days the only things I have downloaded was a couple of sims, houses and some of J.M's business related stuff.

Could it be it came with one of the sims I downloaded?  I can't even remember which one it was since usually I delete the sims if I don't like how they turn out after I downloaded them.

38  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Expensive Wall/Floors? on: 2006 August 14, 04:44:30
I've never used homecrafter and it just seems like alot of work to do.  I like to play Wink

Anyways, thanks for the tutorial Gali, guess if I can't find any for download I'll have to resort to doing it the hard way.
39  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My sims are turning into lushes. on: 2006 August 13, 06:24:12
I wasn't aware that there is a fix for it, will download asap J.M Smiley
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Expensive Wall/Floors? on: 2006 August 13, 06:22:55
Been on a downloading spree of walls/floors and can't seem to find anything that costs over $1 Sad

Anyone know of any sites that have some nice wall/floors but are priced higher?

Thanks in advance!
41  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: My sims are turning into lushes. on: 2006 August 13, 04:44:35
I'm kind of having the same problem here.  I've had a total of four weddings so far and in all of them the couples did not get into the limo as intented.  They stand in front of the limo like they are going to sit inside (which is a mere 2 seconds or so) then they run off to the bar to get a drink :/  They miss the limo.

The last wedding I did, I saved right before they run to the limo, deleted the bar to see if it would make a difference, but only one got in and the other ran to the bartender to "get a drink".

I don't know if it's a hack causing this.  I doubt it though cos the only hacks I use are from JM and TJ, and a few from Inge.

42  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about marriage on: 2006 August 08, 18:28:36
It seems that the easiest way to break up a marriage is to have one partner cheat on the other, then the break-up option comes up fairly quickly.

Other day I tried to have a couple lower the relationship scores by just argue/insult (not sure of the latter, I only had two options when the daily and lifetime score were about 80ish) and it took about 45 min of real time to accomplish.  It only goes down one point for each one so it takes forever to do :/

Trying to get the couple to not interact with each other for a few days only lowers it a tad, they'd basically turn elder by the time you could break them up.

43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about marriage on: 2006 August 07, 19:43:32
That was a quick reply JM!

That's all I needed to know ty Smiley
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Question about marriage on: 2006 August 07, 19:38:11
I was wondering if I move out the hubby from the household whether he'd still be considered as "being married".

I was going to try but I wasn't sure if the game would save him once I moved him out.  I just want him to "take a break" so to speak, but still be married to his wife.
45  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Overtly friendly neighbor on: 2006 August 02, 06:30:50
Thanks for that Jsalemi.  I've been away ffrom the game for a few months and it's taking awhile to update all my mods after getting OFB.

Just started my first business too.  I'm going to be needing a whole lot more mods from the looks of things Tongue
46  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Overtly friendly neighbor on: 2006 August 01, 06:51:22
I little off topic but I noticed something since I installed OFB.  During parties guests never get food from the buffet,  they go straight to the fridge and grab chips.  The buffet is untouched during the whole party.

Oh and now they never do anything besides drink if you have a bar - sometimes they don't even stop drinking for awhile when you want another sim to interact with them.  Very annoying.

That being said, I have a sim who is engaged to one of the barista's.  Been lazy though and haven't gotten around to having them live together/married yet.  I'll let you know if he shows the same behaviour in my neighbourhood.
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Again found out of an OFB problem... on: 2006 July 29, 09:59:38
I've also had a problem with sitting at a certain table in the Crypt O' Night club...my Sims never get served.  The server takes their order, but never returns with food.

--green

I think Pescado waiter fix will take care of that problem.

The tables outside have the other type of decorative candles on them, so the waiter can't serve the food.  I noticed this when I had many sims on one outing which some were seated inside and outside.  The ones sitting outside didn't get the food served.

I just went to the lot in build mode and removed those candles, worked fine after that.
48  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Blank Icons on: 2006 July 19, 21:21:08
The only reason I thought I'd go for the new install is because it's the only neighbourhood I've created and used so far.  Oh well, bye bye neighbourhood.

Thanks Bluesoup.
49  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Blank Icons on: 2006 July 19, 20:38:31
Yes the signs of a BFBVFS is what I'm afraid of.  I just don't know if I should just re-install the whole thing so that it doesn't make me a sad panda in future  Tongue

I wonder if deleting the whole household and sims with it is a good idea....

Thanks for the help btw ElfPuddle, much appreciated.

50  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Blank Icons on: 2006 July 19, 19:36:11
I started it with one Cas sim, then just moved in some that she met downtown.  I used Inge's shrub a few times to quicken the process.  I had them all move in with the "propose - move in" option on my Cas sim though.
