51  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Running torrented EP's without CD on: 2011 August 19, 03:23:57
Others are telling you that with Awesome, there is an option to disable CD check, which would eliminate your need for crack.
52  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 August 15, 03:45:20
Dude,

Extract the (sims3) files, use the Multi-pack installer to unload the files, use the S3RC to decrapify and cut/paste into your mods folder. Easy, peasy.
53  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here on: 2011 June 20, 16:36:42
Don't you use AwesomeMod?
54  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: More Awful Than You - March on: 2011 March 03, 01:44:58
I just thank God/gods/goddess(es) that she didn't enable it for toddlers.  Have you ever seen the hairs on toddlers?  Scary.  I can't use the blasted things for any sim after seeing that debacle.

Oh wait.  See pic one.

Edited for missing the obvious.
55  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Editing "hidden" rooms in Late Night. on: 2010 December 07, 03:36:29
Versus, thanks a lot for the insight!  Moving the doors instead of deleting them worked.  Who'd a'thunk?
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: Editing "hidden" rooms in Late Night. on: 2010 December 06, 04:32:52
Is editing "hidden" rooms only available when apartments are not occupied?  I am able to edit, using "testingcheatsenabled true" with "restrictbuildbuyinbuildings off", but when I try to get back to "live" mode, I get the unending circle of pending... without ever getting to the live mode.

As an aside to shouty ones, THIS is the information for which I am seeking, not information about building my own apartment.  I want information on editing an existing apartment; different concepts with similar information, but different none-the-less.

57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Paysites must be destoryed - been destroyed? on: 2010 September 14, 14:19:05
I apologize for the necromancy, but thought it better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one.  I'm getting a "site temporarily unavailable" notice when I click on the MATY link.

Attacked again?

Edit:  Works for me now, too.
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Tag Disabler on: 2010 June 17, 13:49:57
I believe it's been there all along, but I only really saw it in adult sims with the childlike trait.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Tag Disabler on: 2010 June 17, 13:12:13
Dear God(s) that running to and fro, around and about, getting absolutely nowhere fast is annoying.  It's about time someone modified the game to eliminate that stupid bug.

It would be funny if it could be assigned to specific sims, maybe as a trait - like the hyperactivity trait.   Roll Eyes

Does this shiny new feature of AM impact this mod at all?

Thanks for the specifics, Tyyppi - that's the info I needed.
62  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 14, 22:40:06
If you add The Penningway Bookshelf or the Book Corral to your library it should add skill books and fix the problem.

I had to add these and invoke the "regenerate" command for the skill books to even appear.  I am still missing the text-strings, though.  Also, my schools (at least in Twinbrook) remain borkinated.  I lied about the "no swarm" though.  I must have missed it.  All the kiddies are standing outside the building waiting to get in, imagine that! Before this version, the bus wouldn't even pick up the kiddies to take them to school.  Now, they actually arrive, yet cannot enter.  I have Base, WA, HELS, & Ambitions, no other mods (at least on this last test), removed all cache files prior to starting the saved game, and my OS is W7.

The "hand of God" is awesome, I must say! Who thought that doing laundry in a game was a good idea? Someone who doesn't do it in RL, evidently.
63  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 14, 21:48:55

Also, skill books are missing in libraries, so I used the regeneratebooks command and the text strings are missing on some of the skill books (fishing, guitar,& painting, IIRC). That probably is related to some other book mod if no one else is experiencing it.
Are you using Twinbrook?

I'm pretty sure that this is a known issue with Twinbrook.

Yup, I'm solely testing on Twinbrook.

I must have misunderstood something, because I thought that the absence of the books was from EAxian fail and that the regenerate command would fix it. Obviously, AM fixed what it was intended to fix.  The text-string is probably missing because the book wasn't there to begin with; side-effect of EAxian fail.
64  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 4.0.87 (AMB) TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 14, 20:35:18
Using latest version of AM, schools are available, with no swarm, but kids cannot go in and get the "skipping school" nonsense.  If I used a game that was saved with a previous version of AM, can it have residual effects? Just wondering, because admittedly, I know shit.

65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: EA Data Logging - Ambitions & Patch on: 2010 June 09, 13:04:04
I have EA blocked from accessing the internet, and I unchecked keylogger in the game options.  However, every time I go into the options menu, the keylogger is rechecked again.  How do I get the stupid thing turned off FOREVAH?!
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Getting CC to work post Ambitions and 1.12 patch on: 2010 June 07, 20:59:46
A question for you all.  Is anyone having issues with global/core mods and never-ending game loading?  I'm only running mods that are supposed to be updated or working with Ambitions and the latest patch, and it seems that all I can get to work (as in, finish loading the game) are Twallan's Supercomputer, Career, DebugEnabler, and StoryProgressionExpanded, and then nointro from MTS and Rothchild's updated NoMosiac.  Of course, hairs, clothes, skins, and objects work fine, too.  If I try to add some of my other updated mods (like Anach's mods from the Pudding Factory or HP's No Zzzs and No Musical Notes from MTS), the loading bar goes all of the way and then hangs.

This is the first time I've ever encountered a problem like this with TS3 (yes, it's very reminiscent of the old days of Sim gaming).  I'd updated to run from MyDocs, and I'm wondering if I'd have less problems if I went back to the old way via Program Files.

I had this same thing a couple of days ago with only AM installed.  I added the .dll files to each game directory and it loaded fine. Obviously, I had framework fail.  For some reason, my game is very finicky.
67  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2010 May 17, 20:00:17
Newversion, fixes Ultralounge Island issue.

Do I need to redownload the offending file and decrapify anew, or can I just redecrapify an already decrapified version?
68  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2010 March 16, 12:17:37
You got it.  Make sure you have the files you want decrapified in the same directory as s3rc and/or the decrapifier, then drag and drop the files.  Seems too simple to be right, doesn't it?
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: M&G and AL mansard roof conversion on: 2010 March 15, 14:11:31
Great job. I really like the metal roof patterns you've included with your conversion.  Is there any way you can create roof patterns out of your patterns?
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 February 23, 14:03:28
I'm going to guess that the s3pe is not x64 friendly is it?  I downloaded and installed s3pe_1002-19-1756.exe and when I tried to import as .dbc, the program gives me an error.

You should probably ask that question in the S3PE forum @MTS.  There's a specific thread there for questions/problems with S3PE.
71  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 February 22, 17:13:33
I know this has been asked, so please do not be upset with me on this.  I have followed the steps provided by going through and using the SP3.

I have reinstated my game.  The content that I have downloaded from here shows that it is being installed but never greys out.  I have tried to use the SP3 following the steps provided.  I think I am doing something wrong.  The store content, does not show in package when I use the SP3.  Is there something that I am supposed to use to open the content first then use the SP3?   Huh

Using S3PE requires extracting the .sims3pack files to .package format.  There are a number of them available.  You can try ModTheSims.  Delphy made one called the  Sims3pack Multi-installer.  Extractor/installer - I can understand why you'd miss that in your Google search.
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: EA store stuff in *.dbc format - a torrent on: 2010 February 20, 20:57:34
The Mischief Bedroom, Critter Comfort and Forest Bedroom sets are all part of the Animals Abound set.  I'm sure the .dbc is listed here somewhere.  I don't know what the Dutailleur set is, so I can't help there.
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.9/2.4 Issues on: 2010 February 03, 03:09:39
Right.  I've  managed to get the the game to run with the .package files.  And note well the wording their folks.  It was incredibly slow to load up.  I timed it, 15 minutes in total to get to my actual neighbourhood.  And once there, the game play was incredibly slow and laggy.  And quitting takes forever.  After 6 minutes I grew fed up and did a force quit.

Fuck this shit, I'm going back to Sims 2.  Who wants to play a game that slow and laggy.  Wake me up when they manage to figure out how to make it run properly again.  With CC.  And no kids it aint the processor.  I have a pretty good processor and graphics chip in this machine, above and beyond what the game requires, so that should not factor into it.

EA, the very thought of your odious existence makes me nauseous.

I had the same issue before my puper crapped.  It would take sooo long for my game to load it wasn't worth even playing.  When it would finally load, the lag was so bad I wanted to throw the computer out the window.  I'd try to quit and save, but it would take HOURS.  To fix the issue, I found the content I wanted in Sims3pack, used the S3rc to compressorize, then extracted them, grouped them into categories and packaged them.  My game now loads within 3 minutes and I have a little shy of 1 gig worth of content added.

But you're absolutely right.  How much time does it take to get the stupid game to run "smoothly"?  Is it worth all the time it takes to figure out "which" folder "what" file needs to be in, or the proper syntax or text string that's needed to make the content show?  I've actually gotten to the point where I spend more time researching and trying stuff out than I do playing the game. (I kinda enjoy the discovery process though.)  Tongue  I hope you get everything figured out and enjoy playing once again.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.9/2.4 Issues on: 2010 February 03, 00:47:35
The patch is do.not.want.   I don't have the stuff pack, AM is not updated for this patch, and as if that were not reason enough, the following quote copypasta from the official site:

..."Before installing an Update for The Sims 3, an Expansion Pack, or a Stuff Pack, it is a good idea to run through the following checklist to ensure your game continues to work smoothly.

If you have any questions about the below steps, please visit the Technical Support forum on the official Sims 3 community found at this URL: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/forums/show/10.page"

I really like the "continues" to run smoothly bit.  I'm still trying to get custom content to show after HD failure and reinstall.  If it is necessary to warn people before installing, I'm thinking it's not such a good idea to do. The really craptastic thing about all of this is that if you open the launcher, the download manager halts all processes until you install. No information unless you shut everything down and go to the website (won't use the launcher to do that).  Pushy little contraption, I tell ya'.  Did they unbreak the broken launcher?

I prefer to wait and see.

75  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: World Adventures install/update problem on: 2009 December 16, 14:26:06
I have an arred base game for region 1 and arred WA for region 2. I did a fresh reinstall of the base game and did progressive patches up to 1.7.9.002001 Then I had to change the SKU to region 2 to get WA to install. I installed WA with no problem, then changed the SKUs for both games back to region 1. I tried updating from the launcher and it said my game was already up to date, so I searched the Web for a patch to download (Sims3_2.2.8.002001_from_2.0.86.002001), but every time I run it, it goes all through the process and then throws up an error message:  Update Error: Invalid File Found.

I've replaced all the original files, removed all CC and I still get the same error. The game runs fine without the update but of course, I can't use AM because I get this: "Warning: Non-critical core mismatch!" which from reading posts I understand means the game's not patched to 2.2.8.

I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

I haven't tried this, but it seems that in order to install two different regions you had to change the original to match the one you were installing.  After that you changed them both back to region 1.  Perhaps if you had kept the same updated region it would update?  Have you tried using the Patch Log View @ MTS?  I'd like to know how you resolve this issue.
