77  Ye Olde Simmes 2 Archives: Dead Creators / Ye Olde Crammyboye Archives / Re: Fish pillows on: 2005 November 29, 13:31:09
I downloaded the fishpillows twice and there is an error both time....file is damaged or corrupt.  Any idea?

The only reason ive found for this is because im on dialup, and when i try to download more than one thing at a time, sometimes it ends one of the downloads early because it cant handle it. Try getting a program like flashget, which can do all sorts of things i havnt even found yet. But it means i can download several things at a time without any corrupted files.

Yeah, i've just done the same with my game, but i've now told myself im not allowed to download anything else until i get nightlife- i download mostly genetics and clothing, so its all just sitting in my downloads and saved sims folders taking up space.

Get a reindeer- theres always a chance it will kill someone through electrocution if they pet it. Might work bet with one of Inge's doors, if you dont want your sims to die.

It horrifies me when I see people on the forums who don't regularly back up their Neighbourhoods & Downloads folders. I think "It's technology! Sod's law dictates that it will break down, the only question is when?". Mind you, people also accuse me of paranoia, so Roll Eyes.

Im not one of those people, i currently have 4 copies of my entire sims 2 folder on my desktop in rar files, each spaced 2 weeks apart, 'just in case'. And all of the downloads since the oldest one copied into a temp downloads folder. With datesso i can delete as necessary. Im a paranoid type of person too.

@ Andygal, about 17GB each, i think. Not 100% sure, just wanted to be happy that my d drive was using nearly no space. And my entire my documents folder only takes up another 2 mb. But i fell asleep while it was transferring, so havnt played yet. Thats what i get for doing 4 12 hour days this week  Grin

Yeah, i meant 1GB, was packing up to come home, so not thinking straight. Sometimes it barely runs as it is, which is why I need to do this. I checked, and my d drive is only using 180 kb. So lots of space  Smiley
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Moving my game on: 2005 November 24, 16:12:05
my C drive is awfully cramped but I still have all sorts of room on D. Woot!

Thats why I asked- I've got about 1 mb left on my C: Drive, and less than that being used on the D, so I figured it might make my game run just that little bit faster.

@ Bluesoup, its a good site, has a lot of useful info on it. Ive already used their tutorial on how to move to a new user account, am now kicking myself that I didnt think to look there.

I even have that site in my bookmarks at home- thats what I get for asking questions at work.

Thanks Myth

Ok, at the risk of getting burninated, I need some help:

My C: Drive on my laptop is nearly full, so I was thinking of moving my Sims 2 game to m D: Drive, but im not sure how to go about it and save all my current games.

Can I just copy my entire EA Games folder to my D: Drive, or do I need to uninstall and reinstall, then move my old neighbourhood folders in?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks, Fiona

Me too, they look so small now compared to other books i read. Cant remember what that on was, but on the plus side, the films out next month!

And I think we have successfully dragged this thread totally off topic.

Although I want this now just for the dancing toddler. I love being totally creeped out when Im home alone  Smiley

I remember reading about father time before, hes in some old legends, but I havnt got my books with me, so I cant check which ones.

There isnt an install file - it was a rar file, with a very mixed up readme file, and some files that my computer cant open. So right now its in my downloads folder. When I can be bothered to play again, it might get moved somewhere else. Probably to program files, but no ideas if that doesnt work.

Im also British, originally scottish, but moved to near Birmingham, at Uni in Manchester and currently on my year abroad in Berlin!

Slightly more on topic. If I had acquired this party pack from a certain thread on here (not that I would- its wrong), where would I have to download it to? I'Ve seen people say it goes into program files, but would it if I downloaded it?
91  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Sims change clothes? on: 2005 November 18, 13:44:41
Not sure if this should go here, or even if its possible, but a random thought that i had is that when sims change outfit (eg after shower) they should change into different clothes. Eg if they had 3 outfits in the dresser, the game should randomly choose one of those outfits. Maybe with an option to turn it off so they also dress the same.

Does anyone know if this can be done? Is anyone willing to take a shot at it, or point me in the direction of someone who would? Or as a last resort, teach me how to do things like this, so I can have a crack at it myself.

Thanks baratron, this is really helpful, but does anyone know where I could get a list of all the information for sim DNA? I would like to change a couple of my old CAS sims, but dont want to mess about without enough information about it.

The thing that gets me with Brynnes house is that they are all platinum!! I give myself a pat on the back when I get 5 Sims platinum at one time.
