8  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2012 April 15, 00:40:31
That's because the STBLs are stored in the DCCache, and not in the world file itself.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Household naming weirdness on: 2012 February 06, 00:19:37
This sounds like the STBLs have been broken for some reason; perhaps the world has been given a new ID by mistake. I would report it in the download thread.

12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Barnacle Bay is Messed Up on: 2011 March 17, 22:48:56
That's because Barnacle Bay, Riverview and any custom worlds use dynamic caches in the WorldCaches folder.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Happy Holiday Stuff Pack clothing on: 2011 March 17, 11:17:08
The EA Pack doesn't contain Securom, as it installs like a patch just as the Holiday Party Pack download did.

If you want the EA download, then this is the Mini Pack you require:

15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! on: 2011 January 11, 08:57:34
So I keep adding to my file little by little (this slow process of merging my mods) and I'm left wondering as I watch all of my HD space disappear on my C:/ drive... Where is all my space going? And how do I get it back?
Try deleting your temp files. Also untick the 'autosave' box when you do this- it seems to be due to temp files created during the autosave.
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.17/2.12/3.8/4.5/5.2 on: 2010 November 29, 09:48:07
Now, I've tried checking DeviceConfig. Initially, it said:
Quote
MaxActiveLots 12
NumMaxActiveLotOptions 4
I tried changing NumMaxActiveLotOptions to twelve, but of course the game ignored it while in play and reset it upon reinitialization. I then tried changing the file to read-only in a last ditch effort. My changes are completely ignored. The game will still only present the option to show up to four lots.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

First, delete your caches and also DeviceConfig.log from Documents\ Electronic Arts\ The Sims 3. In Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 [Latest EP/SP] \Game\Bin find graphicsrules.sgr and MAKE A BACKUP.

Open graphicsrules.sgr with notepad.

find:
option NumMaxActiveLotOptions
   setting 4
      prop $ConfigGroup NumMaxActiveLotOptions 4
      prop $ConfigGroup PlatformMaxActiveLots 4
   setting 6
      prop $ConfigGroup NumMaxActiveLotOptions 6
      prop $ConfigGroup PlatformMaxActiveLots 8
end
if ($os64Bit == 1)
   setOption NumMaxActiveLotOptions 6
else
   setOption NumMaxActiveLotOptions 4

Change it to:
option NumMaxActiveLotOptions
   setting 4
      prop $ConfigGroup NumMaxActiveLotOptions 8
      prop $ConfigGroup PlatformMaxActiveLots 8
   setting 6
      prop $ConfigGroup NumMaxActiveLotOptions 8
      prop $ConfigGroup PlatformMaxActiveLots 8
end
if ($os64Bit == 1)
   setOption NumMaxActiveLotOptions 6
else
   setOption NumMaxActiveLotOptions 6

This will force the game to allow the option of up to 8 lots visible whatever your specifications. What it defaults to will still depend upon your specs, and of course lower end systems may not actually render 8 lots simultaneously in high LOD.

You may have to replace this edited file with the original copy when patching, and if you add any more EPs/ SPs you will have to edit the graphicsrules for those instead.
17  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Changing textures in a world after it has been completed on: 2010 November 20, 02:45:36
Well, now I can't open the installedworlds folder .package. It says "expected DBPF, found DBPP". Turns out it's because I am using a legally obtained Barnacle Bay. Even after decrapifying it, it still gives me the same error. I uninstalled it, deleted it, deleted the installedworlds file, caches, save, and redownloaded it, decrapified it...same thing. It installs fine, I just can't open it in S3PE.
Did you try a decrapify and fix? Try the -fD switch.
18  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Changing textures in a world after it has been completed on: 2010 November 19, 09:16:23
Make sure you delete the World Cache files for Barnacle Bay; for Bridgeport you'd most likely have to delete the static cache at Electronic Arts\ The Sims 3 Late Night\ Caches.

If you go into Edit-in-Game and have awesomemod, can you use the command "destroyallhumans"?
Thanks for the suggestion; this works as far as removing the sims and allowing a CAW save; however it still fails upon 'export world'. There must be some resources I haven't identified which are marking the world as a packed file.
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The new Sims 3 non-borked Create-A-World tool DIRECT LINK on: 2010 August 13, 17:10:23
I think the poster on the Sims 3 forum was trying what I have tried, which is to import the Twinbrook resources into a test world, using S3PE.

This will allow you to view and edit Twinbrook in CAW, but of course the families will also be present, as can be seen in EIG mode. The world cannot be saved in this format in CAW, and it seems that a way to cleanly remove all sims has to be found before saving will be successful. I've experimented briefly with removing various resources related to Sims (there is an XML, some SNAP files etc.) before import, but I've not managed to find them all- either I remove too much and the world will not load, or else I still have sims there. This seems to be what caused problems for the poster on the Sims 3 forum.

Theoretically it should be easier to edit an unpopulated world, but I've not tested this myself.

23  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Quick question about updating on: 2010 May 06, 12:05:59
Scriptcache, basically, is where the game stores "information" that it recalls a lot.
Don't forget that if you are running Riverview or a custom world that this information seems to be cached in the World Caches folder.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Merging mods to increase Performance! (Manually creating .dbc archives) on: 2010 March 31, 16:44:38
Ok, it's good to know I can add things that way instead of starting over every time.

But 200? Is there a reason or is that just a "just to be safe" kind of thing? At the moment I've got every single store item yet in one single package, about 850mb, and they all load just fine.
200Mb is the default maximum size of dbc and ebc files created by the game.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Patch 1.11/2.6/3.2 on: 2010 March 27, 11:41:20
Noenmity- it sounds as though you have a basegame system file which has been changed or deleted. For example, have you removed the Family Sims/ lots from the family bin or modified any files? If so, restore them and patch again. If you can't find the problem file, you could search %temp% for the latest rtpatch.log file and check in there to see where it failed. Otherwise, reinstall the basegame.
