1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2014 April 21, 01:17:36
I use decrapped S3P's because I like to download custom lots. If someone creates a lot with legit store content, all I need to do is decrapify their lot and it loads fine in my game. If I keep all my store downloads as packages, I have to go through and replace all of the items by hand, because the game won't recognize my packages and the legit store items as being the same items.

Kind of a moot point if you don't download many custom lots, though.

There's a few different things that could be causing lag. MTS has some good tips on it.

I appreciate your input Sigmund. However after reviewing the link you posted it does not explain why my game ran smoothly with the lots merged together and were rendered unusable. While with uncombined lots I experience lag problems. To clarify: When the .packaged lots are removed from the library I have no lag or problems with the game.

Perhaps you failed to read the entire post? Or perhaps I was unclear when asking for assistance with the actual problem?

Again, I would like to keep them but certainly am not married to the silly things. So for the sake of smooth game play I will sacrifice them. However if there is a solution I'm willing to give it a go. It's just that I have a passion for nice homes and have a vast collection in several different themes.

No, I read your post. But as far as I could tell, your question wasn't specific to store lots, so it didn't make sense to go into a lot of detail about it here. If you haven't tried some of the suggestions in the MTS thread that deal with lag, I'd definitely take a look. If you want to experiment with merging lots and start a new thread about it, that's an option, too. But as far as I know, it's not a method that's well-documented, so your question is more likely to get the attention you want if it's not buried in a thread about something else.

Franchesca, this is not the thread for questions about installing store sims3packs. Do some general googling or searching on this site and you'll find what you need.

I think they've given up trying to pretend they're doing anything other than screwing with us.

I'm confused as to what I'm doing wrong. After I decrap and install a venue from the downloads page, it installs correctly. But when I place it in the game, all of the store content is replaced with base game objects. However, the store objects show up in the game catalog. How do I fix this so that the store objects are automatically on with the venue?

Lots are finicky. IIRC, opening up the library folder and decrapifying the actual lot package file did the trick for me. Also, this is stating the obvious, but decrapifying is an all-or-nothing process, so ALL your store content must be decrapified or it won't show on the lot.

I have a similar problem with both lots and sims downloaded from The Exchange. I have tried 10+ different sims themed for Roaring Heights and all of them, beside one that appeared as expected, appeared with basic hair and beige dress in the in-game CAS. Then I tried 4-5 Roaring Heights themed lots and the majority of the object had been replaced by base objects. I spent about 2 days reading, re-installing and moving stuff around but in the end I always get the same result. I'm guessing that decrapified content doesn't play too well withThe Exchange item.

To be clear (because you didn't state what you're doing) the lot or sim you downloaded MUST be decrapified for it to work with decrapified store content. If the decrapifying doesn't seem to "stick" to the sims3pack, try decrapifying the package file in your library or saved sims folder. Again, that usually seems to fix the problem when I've encountered it.

Depending on how Ellatrue feels about it, I can either upload the fixed version I'm currently playing, or I can upload the CAW files. It's a fun world to play, especially since IP added boats.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Crescent Cove, A Barrier Island on: 2013 September 15, 17:31:12
This is necromancy in a big way, but I wanted to mention that I fiddled around with this world in CAW and managed to stop the crashing. There's something in the area of the police station that was causing it, because every time I tried to zoom in to that area in CAW, it crashed immediately. I basically nuked everything in that section-- trees, bushes, the police lot, everything. And that stopped the crashing/freezing problems, both in CAW and in game.

So there you go. Necromancy, but possibly useful if somebody else out there (like me) enjoyed this world back in the day and really wants to make it work again.

I recently downloaded Dragon Valley Gold and the Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire both untouched.
Decrapified and installed both via the launcher-they both seem to have installed, and while Dragon Valley doesn't seem to be missing any objects the Duke of Bows Renaissance Faire does. The archery ranges are treadmills, the benches, fountains and chairs are basegame stuff and the violin item turns into a kiddies slide climbing frame object. I have tried reinstalling both packs over my current installation with the same objects missing each time. I'm fully up to date and delete cache files and with the most updated version of the Decrapifyer too I checked just to be sure. I even tried KT fixes to no avail. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and if I'm doing anything wrong?  Huh

Are all the items in your buy catalog? If they are, I'd try finding the lot in your Library folder (it'll be a string of random numbers and letters, but you can open it up in S3PE to figure out which file it is) and decrapify that, then open up the game and try placing the lot again. I don't use DV, but I've had some of the store lots act weird before with decrapified items. If the items aren't in your buy catalog, they didn't install.

I actually have the same problem, and just kind of ignore it. I assumed I installed it somewhere more than once. I'm using the decrapped LP, too. Do you have KT's fixes or anything?
12  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: T$R subscriber files for free on: 2013 June 02, 02:26:26
PMBD is up and working now. Blogspot will pull down anything that gets a complaint, and TSR is usually pretty liberal with their complaints, so I'm kind of surprised it hasn't gotten yanked already.
13  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2013 May 11, 17:56:34
From what I read, it was not complete.  SimGuruHydra said there are going to be more changes.  Basically, it wasn't the final edition considering it doesn't come out for 3 weeks.

Yeah, but they also said that when TS3 leaked before its release date. And, IIRC, the leaked version was the same thing as the retail one. I'm not saying the leaked DV is complete, just that EA will lie to cover up their incompetence.
14  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Uni Life Thread on: 2013 May 05, 14:50:47
My daughter is experiencing some glitch where her sim went back to University, has been there a week and no classes have started. Anyone else have this happen?

Did she add anything new to the game? When I had this problem (classes never started) it was a mod causing it.
15  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Playing TS3 Supernatural without super-naturals on: 2013 April 20, 00:24:56
I'm actually the same way. I've been considering ARRR-ing it, but honestly wasn't sure it would even be worth the effort. Isn't there beekeeping in SN, though? That could be fun...
16  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: What's the best way to handle memories? on: 2013 March 25, 21:37:46
TS3 memories are useless. They're mostly just shitty screenshots of supposedly "important" events.

Hello people. This is my first post here and I want to thank you all of the Store Sets that I've downloaded.
I'm looking for the untouched sims3pack of the following sets, because I only find them in compilation sets and I would like to download individually.

[snip]

Thanks in advance for all the help you can give me!

You can buy them individually at the store.  Of course, they're free here, but if you're really that pinched for time, looks like buying each set is your best bet.

Hy hello!
I love your work! Fantastyc!! BUt !
The spell book (Lady Ravendancer Goth's Book o 'Spells) wont work. If you can  fix the problem please do it as soon as possible!
Thanks  Smiley

The book worked fine the last time I tried it. Either it's a problem stemming from the most recent store patch, or you're doing something wrong.

Please... just answering my question... Don't ask why I asking that...

MATY isn't a place for beginners. If you're not familiar with how to use the Overrides folder or what Awesomemod is, take Grimma's advice and check out MTS. Google is your friend.

Ugh. There goes my idea, then.

I usually don't bitch and moan too much about stuff like this but I was really looking forward to real green houses like in the Sims 2.

Same here. I'm really disappointed that my sims won't be able to garden in the winter. Goddammit, EA, why are you so incapable of making things that work?
20  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: KT's Store Fixes (updated 11.15.2012) on: 2012 November 17, 03:55:29
ETA:  Inj modified her glass floor to become invisible as a fix for the greenhouse.  You can pick it up here.
Thank you, but doesn't that make it consider the greenhouse as indoors?  Huh

Yup. I think somebody mentioned this in Inge's post, but I don't think the game allows you to plant things inside areas that are designated "inside". So EA's greenhouse seems kinda useless, particularly for players with Seasons.

One way you could sort of get around this (I was toying with building a greenhouse before Seasons, but haven't gotten around to it yet) would be to plant them outside, and move them inside the greenhouse manually in buy mode. You'd need moveobjects on to do it. I'm not sure what would happen to the plants, so you might want to back up if your Sim has a really prized garden or something.

WUT!?

[...]

So is it really true? Shocked That AM for 1.42 could come out mid-november?

AM will be out when it's out. Pescado is usually pretty on top of things, but at the end of the day, he's still doing this for free. So just suck it up and read a book or something until it's ready.

This way Ive explained is easiest, most efficient and most accomodating to what I'm trying to do with the game.

For someone using the easiest and most efficient way of doing things, you're having an awful lot of problems.
23  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Base Game Items in buy mode catalog after patch 1.39 on: 2012 October 20, 12:15:20
Shockingly, using an outdated and unnecessary method of running your game will, in fact, screw it up. So no, I'm not sure you DO know what you're putting in your game, or you wouldn't be doing it to begin with.
24  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Anach's Sims 3 Mods - Updated 10th July 2012 (1.36) on: 2012 October 20, 03:47:12
I've been trying some of these with 1.39, and the two that I can't live without (No Intro, No Annoying Music) appear to be functioning normally. Haven't tried testing any of the others yet.

There were no changes to the GameplayData.package for 1.39.

Were there with 1.38, though? These mods haven't been updated since 1.36.
25  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Missing Base Game Items in buy mode catalog after patch 1.39 on: 2012 October 20, 03:38:47
Then because I have warez versions of certain games, I used the games for the world Ultimate Fix Here: http://games4theworld.bestgoo.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems.
(Which Ive used for previous patches to solve the "Network Error Issue").

There seems to be a glaring problem in your post: what is this thing, and what is it supposed to do? I followed your link, and the whole post is very vague and shady looking. It "fixes all your problems"? I'm not sure if this is a mod or a magical pill that prevents me from getting cancer.

Reinstall everything, patch and load up the game WITHOUT ANY THIRD PARTY MODS, and look for the football. I do have the football in my patched game, and yes, it's a base game object. Since more people haven't reported this problem, it probably stems from not knowing what you're putting in your own game.
