Outdated yellow pee? InSim? I remember Reading an old verson of InSimenator causing dogs to pee microwaves.
27  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Small glitches with simss, possibly caused by apartment life? on: 2008 October 18, 23:39:38
The stereo is borked. Numenor released a fix for it on MTS2 ages ago. Its just supposed to glow blue.

Can you take a pic? I'm not sure what you mean.

...I could make it work. Who has a Mac and wants to find out?
I still have the mac copy of the game. I could give it a go later.

Thanks Havelock.
32  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 4 on: 2008 October 02, 17:03:15
I haven't seen that, I only touched the recliner. Do you have the patch for OFB? The only time I heard of that happening was when OFB wasn't patched.
33  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: PMBD Member with Game Borkiness Question... on: 2008 September 23, 00:36:38
What is your problem? Yes, that isn't exactly an Nvidia 9800GTX, but it should handle the game perfectly fine. I had an even lower end card and my game ran very smoothly, just not with all the settings on high.  Roll Eyes

EmilyTwitch, try getting the newest drivers from intel. Windows update doesn't usually have the latest video drivers. This should be what you need.
34  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 4 on: 2008 September 19, 22:08:19
Update 4 available. Now fixes the flickering shadows of the Cool Shades and the Eclectic and Enigmatic Energizer.
35  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 3 on: 2008 September 19, 09:29:44
Thanks Havelock. Can I include that in the main file? I've also fixed the Social Glasses aspiration reward. The ground shadow was flickering as well.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Apartment Life: Obligatory Hate/Love Topic on: 2008 September 01, 23:22:38
What is the largest you can make an apartment, four separate apartments?
37  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 3 on: 2008 September 01, 17:54:59
Okay, I've gotten AL, and I'm checking through the new objects. I've found two so far. A new sculpture (fixed), and the new closets. However it seems MilkShape doesn't exactly want to let me import them right now, so I need to beat it into submission. I've also got the basegame pinball  machines fixed.
38  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Additional Localization Music on: 2008 September 01, 06:20:16
They're all package files, which is how the game's music is.  As for using SimPE, I should have said to extract them. You just export the songs and you'll end up with regular mp3 files.
When you extract them, they come out as .xa files.  Programs such as Xantippe convert them to MP3.
Radio music is in MP3 format.
39  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Additional Localization Music on: 2008 September 01, 01:53:00
Download

For Nightlife, Pets, and Apartment Life EA included additional music for various other localizations. If you have any of these expansion packs, you already have the extra music in your games data files, it just isn't using them. Replacing the main music files with these will add the extra songs to your game. Nightlife has more Housemix, Pets and Apartment Life have more Pop.

To install these, replace the EAxis files with these in the following locations. If you don't have one of the expansions you can extract the MP3s with SimPE. Backup your files if you want.

Place Nightlife Housemix.package in...
C:/Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2 Nightlife/TSData/Res/Sound

Place Pets pop.package in...

40  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: No Witch Overlay on: 2008 August 30, 19:25:28
I don't think I know how to do that. I could blank out the images, but then they would still be floating around there and slowing down the game. JFade made a hack to stop the zone glow from Freetime. Maybe when he gets his stuff updated he will also make one for the witches.
41  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / No Witch Overlay on: 2008 August 30, 01:28:49
These two hacks will completely disable the good and evil witch skin tone overlays, so the look just like normal sims. The sim's original skin tone will show as if the were a neutral witch, and they will keep their sparkles if they are evil/good enough. There are two files, one for good witches and one for bad witches, so you can decide if you want to change both of them or not. I used a different technique from HystericalParoxysm, mine are slightly smaller.

Please note that this may not take effect immediately on loading the lot, if you Sim still has the overlay on their face, take them to a mirror. Apply some face paint, then remove it. Save. Their face should be normal then.

42  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 2 on: 2008 August 28, 04:36:38
If you could send me the file, it would be an easy fix.  Smiley

BTW, right now I'm not going to get Apartment Life until I can update my downloads folder, so I won't be able to check and see what's broken in it. Sorry.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Textures Blurring Up When Playing on: 2008 August 13, 21:50:11
Hey. I managed to fix my problem by getting different drivers, so it's good now. Smiley Thanks for the help.
44  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Textures Blurring Up When Playing on: 2008 August 13, 01:46:34
Thanks Toad in the Hole. Smiley That helped, but it just takes longer for the texture to start getting blurry. I don't have anti-aliasing on Pescado, so that's not the cause of it.
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Textures Blurring Up When Playing *Solved* on: 2008 August 12, 20:30:33
First of I should mention that my graphics card is Nvidia 8600GT with 256MB of memory. I know there are a lot of issues with TS2 and Nvidia cards, so that could be what's causing it. When I first load a lot the textures look sharp and crisp, and everything looks all nice. after playing awhile though the textures will start to blur and it looks all muddy. I don't know what started this, but it looks really ugly. The settings are all on high, except smooth edges, which is off.  I'm not playing with a lot of custom content, or on a very large lot either. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It's kind of annoying, because I swear I don't remember this happening before with this card,  and it should be more than powerful enough for TS2.
46  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 1 on: 2008 August 12, 02:37:40
Thanks Lord Darcy.  Smiley I've added your fixes into the file and fixed what you've pointed out.
47  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 1 on: 2008 July 26, 21:34:52
It should be fine in downloads.
48  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 1 on: 2008 July 26, 19:38:14
I'm not sure what you mean. I already fixed the mixed up ground shadow, and it shows the correct shadows when placed against the wall. What did I miss?
49  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* on: 2008 July 26, 09:05:24
You mean probably things like this :
Crappy EAxis FAIL.
One should know what part of a UV Map is used for what shadow.
Thanks Havelock, I've updated the download with your fixes included.  Smiley

How do you fix it, anyway? 'Cause I noticed a similar problem in IKEA preorder end table. I found out that the shadow group names in GMDC are all wrong, e.g. the group which should have been groundshadow was named southwallshadow. I fixed it by renaming the shadow group names properly in GMDC. Have I done right?
Yep, that's what I've been doing. It seems to fix it when all that's borked is the group names. A little bit more work needs to be done when the UV map is messed up.
50  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Fixed Object Shadows *Work In Progress* Update 5 on: 2008 July 26, 02:56:39
For some unknown reason, a lot of the new objects EAxis is releasing in expansions and stuff packs have messed up shadows. Usually the ground shadow is switched with a wall shadow, causing the wall shadow to always show up, even when it's not placed next to a wall. This looks horrible in game and needed to be fixed, so I'm working on this now. I haven't gotten all of the shadows yet, so if you know one that's broken then it would be really helpful to tell me which object it is so I can fix it. I have not heard anyone complain about this, so I'm guessing it will get as many downloads as my floating pancake fix. Tongue
