51  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 12, 17:34:14
I don't have Ambitions yet (waiting for the patch myself), I am patched up and have both the previous expansions, I play with AM and am not having any problems with wants, the school, or anything else right now. Pescado seems to have gotten everything up to HELS patched, fixed, and taken care of. Anything that is still going wrong is most likely Ambitions or tight pants.

If error 12 is a memory corruption issue, like the previous poster mentioned, than having your game save every hour or so should solve your problem. You said it only did this when you played for a long time without saving right? So don't do that anymore. Smiley
53  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AWESOMEMOD 1.2.7/2.7.7/3.3.11 TEST THREAD on: 2010 June 07, 22:29:01
So, I am all patched up and do not have ambitions, I was running fine until I put in AM and the only problem that I seem to be having is work-related. When I ask the employed person to "Meet Co-Workers" or students to "Meet School Mates" they pop out of the building and stand around looking blank. They still read as "Working" in the job tab and this has happened with several families in different games, started fresh for testing purposes and with caches cleared, prior to launch. If they are just "Business as Usual" no problem, it is only when I direct them to meet co-workers that this happens. I have taken out all other mods for testing and it still seems to be happening. Is this just me, or is anyone else having this problem? I will add that once they have gone home they are listed as "Working overtime" and keep getting performance raises as if they were still at work.

That is incredibly useful, thank you.

Are these new objects that over-ride the castle ones, or is this a hack that modifies behavior in some way? It's early in the morning and I do not seem to be parsing well right now. Tongue

Can you see the table in a mirror? If not, better stake it.
56  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid pink heart moodlet on: 2010 May 06, 19:50:42
I love the German translation error. "Sleeping Pill"? Oh lovely! LOL

My Sim was home gardening and made no new friends when the moodlet disappeared. I am only concerned about this at all because any anomaly strikes me poorly when I have been having so many other fun issues with the game. I have had "bad" saves a few times now and had to reload to previous saves (lost a couple of kids that way). So when something seems borked I pay attention since it seems an indicator of an underlying instability... and because EA just sucks and I don't trust them.
57  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Freezes at saving on: 2010 May 06, 19:30:07
Occasionally the game will bork during a save. Once it does that you need to quit out and check your save game folder. If one of the saves says for instance "Lalaland.save.bad" then the save is borked and you need to go back to a previous save. This is an EA sucks issue, rather than an AM problem.
58  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid pink heart moodlet on: 2010 May 03, 19:52:51
I usually marry them off pretty quick so that they can get down to breeding, but the moodlet just seems random. Sometimes it lasts and sometimes it doesn't. Don't know why.
59  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Lighting problem outside. on: 2010 May 03, 19:29:43
Yes, we all seem to be having this problem. I don't know about people who didn't patch, since you have to patch to use AM, and most people here use it. We all also noticed the bloom effect, or the fact that bright lights wash out the details of the crappy EA furniture, which is a blessing of sorts. I find that dimming the lights helps with the bloom effect, but makes it hard to see your game. Catch -22.
60  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Some invisible triplets? on: 2010 April 29, 17:26:18
You could also just adopt five babies and be done with it. That way you can have them all really close together and not impact the parent's career that much. I find "Motherlode" works well as a way to get the cash for it and then if one of the Sims is good, you can donate the rest the charity and get a moodlet boost as well.
61  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims cannot visit China? on: 2010 April 29, 17:07:48
Do not marry foreign Sims. It's a simple rule and if you break it you will break your game. Any kids you have will be borked anyway, so its just not safe. Go to a save before the marriage and try again.
62  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid pink heart moodlet on: 2010 April 29, 17:01:06
I hadn't changed Sim or household. Guy went out to the park, romanced a girl, went home. and in the midst of gardening, about four hours later, the moodlet was gone.  First kiss was still there, but the love was gone, baby, all gone.
63  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Stupid pink heart moodlet on: 2010 April 27, 18:23:04
The first love moodlet was gone after four hours in my game last night. So, I don't think it is a minutes versus hours thing.
64  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims won't interact & no skill books on: 2010 April 24, 17:29:14
The Goddess is correct. The game gets weird sometimes. I think there is a core instability somewhere in the code. If you get too far with a family, a few generations along, it will start to spawn errors all over the place, even if you are playing a relatively simple game (one family, no foreign travel, etc). Saving multiple backups of your game is critical, because you never know when it will turn into a BFBVFS. It just goes ka-blooey for no apparent reason..
65  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Deleting CC in-game? on: 2010 April 24, 17:14:45
Friends don't let friends download Rose's clothes! Her hair is great, but her clothes are always more pain than they are worth. I had one that constantly crashed my CAS screen every time I went to FA Outfits. I have taken out all of her clothes now. My problem is now with a purple slip/negligee thing that must have come with a Sim I installed, because I have no idea where else it could have come from, it is categorized for EVERYTHING and my Sim women keep showering in it. So annoying.

I agree with Claeric here, we need to start a campaign for more intelligent CC creation.

Watch out for Peggy too, by the way, her clothes are also categorized for everything though not as often for nude.
66  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Deleting CC in-game? on: 2010 April 21, 16:58:31
I tend to test out the clothes etc first. When I get a large enough number, then I will smoosh them all together. But I have found that many lame people insist on making their clothes be categorized as nude, so my Sims end up showering in their boots. Tongue Don't put them all together until you have checked them out completely, otherwise your only real option is to delete the whole file and hope you can find the stuff you really liked again.
67  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sims won't interact & no skill books on: 2010 April 21, 16:50:13
I had that problem with the books as well. It was a mod conflict with another mod that altered the books' behaviors. As for the Sims not being able to interact, sounds like something has gone horribly wrong with them. Try moving them out of the house and into another one. If that doesn't work. Delete them and start over.
68  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: How...does the game spawn NPCs? on: 2010 April 21, 05:05:14
Kate is the new Goopy, I think. She's just freakin everywhere.

What really weirds me out is the kids. You have NPC paper kid, who shows up at school, comes over for parties and then ...what...do they grow up and become babysitters, then maids? Is there some sort of messed up class system here where they are born into servitude and remain in service until death? It's just weird.
69  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Bayborough (Bare Bones - Beta) on: 2010 April 18, 00:08:13
Yay for finding a solution to the tiling problem!

I have traveled to all three foreign destinations, done opportunities etc, still without BFBVFS. I will declare this world usable and sound. Smiley

The curved roads with lots do require some adjustment in my lot building technique, since some of the lots don't perfectly touch the road, making pathways out to the road look a little off. I am specifically thinking of the large community lot right at the bend of one of the roads that I have made into a park. But I can't be bothered to muck around until its perfect, its usable, so who cares. LOL
70  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Bayborough (Bare Bones) on: 2010 April 15, 16:55:38
In map view the grass tiling effect is really noticeable, even when I switched my setting around, at higher graphical settings it isn't as noticeable during play. I am learning to ignore it.

So far everything works well, though I found a couple of EAxis blorts that amused me. I had a married couple join the police career together and while the wife shows her husband as being her "partner" the husband doesn't and cannot "meet" anyone at work.  Ah EA, your lameness continues onward.

Having two science labs is interesting, I have had to do opportunities at both of them and I like the ability to "transfer" from one lab to the other. It makes jobs somewhat more realistic.

Nothing has crashed yet and no BFBVFS, so kudos!

May I mention that my 5 year old thinks that the falling rose petals are pretty but misses the fireworks from Sims2? She used to ask all the time for the dogs to make puppies so she could watch the fireworks. She has been watching me play Sims since she was a baby, so we'll see if she is permanently scarred by it about the time she hits 12, I guess.
72  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: New World: Bayborough (Bare Bones) on: 2010 April 13, 22:45:55
I am downloading it now and will play around with it this evening. I will get back to you tomorrow on how everything hangs together. Smiley
73  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: I suppose I should post this here. My world, The Wraithsands. on: 2010 April 13, 22:39:43
I have been playing it for several more days now and still no big broken bits, so well done. I do think that it is weird that ghosts can have ghost babies, especially since the game tacks on a random death for the kid. Kinda creepy.

I actually like all the walking going on, even if it does take a while to go anywhere.

I am also having fun putting a tomb into the community lot pyramid. Plenty of traps and some treasure to keep my adventurous Sims happy. I was amused that I forgot to turn off the auto roof while building and ended up with a peaked roof sticking out of the pyramid for a while there.

I find the lack of co-workers to befriend for my charismatic sims to be the only real draw back. Am plopping down more created Sims to compensate.
74  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: I suppose I should post this here. My world, The Wraithsands. on: 2010 April 08, 16:35:45
I have been playing it for a few days and so far no major annoyances or bugs that I could find. I like how spread out stuff is, though I had to hunt for the bookstore for a bit before I found it. I also like the back story and the ghosts just wandering around in broad daylight. Occasionally the "Oh Noes! A Ghost!" reaction gets a little old, but that's easy to dump. I have been plopping some of my own created sims down and so far everything works fine. Once I am done putting in cribs, all will be spiffy. I have had no plroblems with clicking on any of the lots, but did notice that in map view there were many community lots set as graveyards. Again, though, easy to fix.

I give you five dollah! It's all I got right now, but will try to send more on next payday (whenever they get around to paying me, that is. Tongue)
