I had the same issue with a downloaded lot with far too much foliage. Deleting the foliage solved the problem for me as well. Sometimes just loading a lot with too much crap in it slows the game down to a crawl when switching back to live mode.

My Sims also seem to think that they are the Messiah, makes me tempted to call the "Rapture" at times. Never had this behavior before the patch, either. This seems to happen mostly when they are conversing with each other in the pool, much like the same bug from Sims2.

Claeric, while I am normally very supportive of you and enjoy both Wraithlands and several other things you have done, you have supplied me now with just a wee bit too much information. I am going to go scrub out my brain with peroxide now.
Back on topic - Is the Wikki getting updated regularly, or do I just need to keep on top of this board for additional info? I keep finding new commands and Easter eggs mentioned places and I was wondering if anyone has a complete list (Besides our Lord and Master) ?

If it bugs you that badly, start a new game without AM installed and have someone become a firefighter. The game will spawn firefighter friends for you and then you can save, quit, put AM back in and start playing again with the co-workers already in place. Works like a charm.

Are you installing it through the installer tool or are you doing so manually, by dropping the world into the world folder? I ask because the objects from Riverview are separate from the world file. I believe someone has a link here to just the objects. Try re-installing just these and see what happens.

Sometimes, especially if you downloaded a house, someone used the floor elevation cheat to get things the way they wanted them to be. Because of that, you end up with exactly this sort of problem. Go into Build mode, get the terrain elevation tool, use the level terrain tool, and run it along the floor you created. That should straighten it out.

I can see both sides of this issue, but as a supreme micro-manager, I much prefer AMSP, since it is far less likely that when I decide to have my Sims start looking for love, that half the town will already be sleeping with the other half, and no matter who I choose for my Sim, they will end up being a home wrecker. LOL It gets a little too "Housewives of Sim City" for me. There is a Big book of skills on MTS that can also set the skill level of your Sims, including hidden skills. I find it useful for when I don't want to go searching through all of the supercomputer's sub-menus looking for one thing.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Create a Pattern Tool annoyances

I have been messing around with this today and have found a work around for the bottom layer being un-editable. Leave it white. Just take one of the other stickers like a pattern or square put it on the second layer, scale it up to fit the whole square, and color it whatever you want. This way you only have editable layers in game and the bottom layer is ignored. Using the supplied images seems to make a pretty good pattern, with clear images in the game and smooth textures, but I am still trying to get high quality imported images to work. Will come back with further progress later.

Take this as dvice from someone who isn't exactly computer savvy, but when you re-installed, did you check your "Options" and make certain that they were compatible with your new computer's speed? Maybe you need to mess around with the graphics settings, up the detail, etc. This is just a guess though.

Well, I have a weird issue with Fly Bayless. He's the Bayless ghost. I resurrected him and every time I tried to edit his appearance, mirror, dresser, Twaalan's computer, big fiery CTD. I think he's just plain borked, because even resetsim and fixall did nothing for him. So warning all, until that gets fixed, don't try fixing him! Edit - I have discovered that Juan Darer is also borked in the same way. Just sending him to the mirror is enough to CTD. This is reminding me very much of the Plant Sims in Sims2 and how messed up they were before the patch for Seasons came out. Edit 2 - I am not sure what the problem is. Several times today I have CTD when I have tried to edit a Sim, this has been in several Twinbrook families and in new games. Plus, a previously fine Ghostbuster in Sunset Valley now suddenly has no jobs every night when before he had two to three a night. The only thing I changed there was getting the new AM, so I don't know if its a cumulative error or if something has just gone horribly wrong, but it is very frustrating. I had him quite and restart the career and that doesn't seem to have fixed it. Once more into the breach dear friends, once more...

Yeah, that particular bug had me going for a while there, I kept selling and not getting any credit for it. Selling from the inventory works though. If you have testing cheats enabled on, you can drag the career bar the same way you can drag relationships etc, so you can at least catch yourself up to where you ought to have been from selling all that stuff.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Stack overflow error?
|
on: 2010 June 18, 01:12:22

I have Google'd this and run a search on this site, but am not certain what this means. I had the "Achievement of an Opportunity" music play repeatedly then got this message Sims Wiki had no info on it at all.
"System.StackOverflowException: The maximum stack depth for the interpreter has been exceeded. #0: 0x0000d ldc.r4 in Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.Posture:Satisfies "
Then I got something about the rabbit holes. I am assuming my game has gone up in a BFBVFS, but I am curious to know what I can do in the future to avoid this particular problem. I am attaching the xcpt in case anyone is interested.
I have AM and a mixed bag of hacks from various places, I have been playing with the same set of hacks in different neighborhoods for a while now with no problems, but the Broke family broke my game. LOL Any explanation for this would be helpful. Meanwhile I go to start a new game and see what happens.
