I'll buy the Sims 3 when it has no DRM, including bullshitty launchers.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Which expansion pack...? on: 2009 February 07, 19:06:06
I may add GLS if it uses a more stable engine. OFB didn't really have any features I liked other than the Servos, so I'll probably pass on it. Thanks!

From AlalaSims.com:
This:

Pregnant Sims are like in The Sims 2, but the pregnancy lasts six days.

and this:

Quote
Traits of baby Sims are determined by their mother humor during the pregnancy. While we played a baby had difficulties to sleep and other problems, because his mother hadn't an easy pregnancy.

If pregnancy is anything like it is in the Sims 2, then it's a major do not want. I imagine me never getting Sims pregnant in 3 if it is.

Thanks for the confirmation. Smiley
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Which expansion pack...? on: 2009 February 07, 12:27:37
Which expansion pack was it that allowed you to place a house multiple times from the House bin? I know it wasn't in the base game, and I want to keep my game as light as possible, but this feature is a must-have as far as I'm concerned. I'm assuming it's Nightlife?
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: EA/Maxis has found the Nvidia problem! on: 2008 March 13, 01:01:38
I want to say that people running Norton have it coming to them anyway. There's no excuse to have that bloater on your system when there are so many free and effective firewalls/anti-virus programs.

But yeah. Saying that you should turn off your anti-virus before playing is a little bit cheeky. More than a little bit. Why not just fix that memory leak of yours?
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seeking a learned opinion... on: 2008 March 08, 23:08:33
I'm confused as to whether the updater after you install checks if you have the patches or not. For me, it installs something after the base game but then nothing with every subsequent EP. Do I have to patch separately, and will installing them after FT fubar my game?
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Suggestion: READMe labeling for mass downloaders on: 2008 March 08, 23:03:07
I put all my hacks (actually, all my custom content) into their own separate folders. It goes - what it is (hack, CC etc), where it's from, who created it, name. This helps with readmes because they go in the folder with the hack.

I also have a spreadsheet with all of my hacks, when they were updated and a link to it's readme so I can reference when I have to update something without having to click through a bunch of folders.

Works for me Cheesy

I quite like Misfit, actually. He's cute.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Expressed Appearance vs SimDNA...Technical Help Needed on: 2008 January 14, 13:26:18
The easy answer to the CC skin thing is to never download Sims with photoskinned skin. I'd put a fair amount of money on most of the creators of such skin do not design their skins with breeding in mind, only to make their celebrity or whatever look like the person they're based off.

Photoskinned skins are the devil's work.

Smooth Talking will be broken. At best, it will be like normal conversations, at worst, it will be the inverse of what it was intended to be.

The 'Teeny Tikes Activity Table' will leave invisible blocks and crayoned pictures all over the lot. These will slow the lot down to a crawl and will need to be nuked ala Kicky Bags.
12  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Aner-Dyfan's AwesomeSpec House 1 on: 2008 January 05, 17:59:23
I quite like it. I would download but first I want someone to verify that it has flat edges. The neighbourhood it would look good in I made by hand so I really don't want that terrain messed up.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do I break up an engagement without making them hate each other? on: 2007 December 22, 00:21:51
That happened to me once.

I used one of the options under Fix in the debugger and it went away.

Can't remember which one it was but clicking all of them can't hurt.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 December 20, 16:57:08
I bet you've put it in the wrong directory.

Don't worry, everyone on the site where I got it from did that too.
15  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: 'tis the season! on: 2007 December 20, 16:35:55
because I've always wanted a disembodied deer head springing forth from MY wall.
I could see this for bars and sims' homes. Trophies such as these exist IRL, but I don't remember if or where I have seen them. However, the wooden plaque base is missing. That aside, I don't see what this has to do with Christmas, apart from the fact the set is shown with stuff from Holiday Crap. I must say that desk made me tip my head sideways and frown, though. I must investigate.

I have a desk like that. Not with such bad shadows, but same shape and everything.
16  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Sims Married into Household unable to Move In on: 2007 December 17, 18:01:36
Do you have jordi's LotFullOfSims hack? Because I believe if you have that you need to move them in before marriage otherwise you have errors and stuffs.
17  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 'One or more expansion packs are installed' on: 2007 December 15, 13:40:46
deltree isn't it?
18  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 'One or more expansion packs are installed' on: 2007 December 15, 13:29:57
I was planning to reinstall it on another hard drive.

EDIT:Unix Command?
19  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / 'One or more expansion packs are installed' on: 2007 December 14, 22:28:07
To cut a long story short, I ran out of hard drive space on one drive so started uninstalling to install on another.

But it won't let me uninstall The Sims 2. I get the message 'One or more expansion packs are installed. You must uninstall all expansion packs before uninstalling The Sims 2'.

All the expansions/stuff packs are uninstalled.

The registry has been cleared of all traces of expansions and stuff packs.

Why the hell can't I uninstall it?
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Pinstar's new Apocalypse challenge on: 2007 December 11, 16:59:58
ok, ive done a bit of editing, for my own peace of mind...

Attached is the challenge, ordered by careers, with a handy index. Ive combined his pets, Seasons and the test rules for BV into one document. I find it easiest to keep open in the background, as its searchable. Its made with office 2007, so you will be needing that i think, to get the formatting right.

Correction. You'll need Office 2007 to open it. Anything before that doesn't support the .docx extension.

Now if only it looked like that in-game.
22  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Lot Sync Timer: All BlueSoups Suck Edition on: 2007 December 11, 00:11:02
Lot swappage isn't available if you have OFB installed. Which it says in the first post.
23  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: CD/DVD Drive won't play DVDs anymore. on: 2007 December 09, 17:27:12
1000 isn't very much when you think about it. But I can't see that being the case, really.

If it's just DVDs it won't read, then I'd bet it's your laser at fault. Have you cleaned it?
24  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Default Names Project - ROUND ONE - Fire at will! on: 2007 December 05, 22:23:06
Male: Colomb, Lionel, Julian
Female: Kirstin, Kirsty, Lorraine, Michelle, Louise
Surnames: Healy, McEvoy, Clayton, Sharratt

I'm not sure I like the name Enemene (sp?). Sounds too much like anemone.
25  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: 'tis the season! on: 2007 December 05, 20:43:10
That is seriously... I need another word other than disturbing.

The worrisome thing is, I know several people who'd use that as an xmas decoration.
