I know, necromancy is bad and stuff, but it's the only way we'll get Carrie Fisher back.

Anyway, I can't find a working link anywhere to the booty, no matter which link I try.  Any help would be appreciated.

It's a recently discoverd species of eyeless cave spider.  Cool because it's eyeless, and a cave spider!

Thanks JMP, that's the route I ended up going and it worked out just fine.

And Phyrie, you're adorable, don't ever change.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Question about making famblys sacred on: 2011 February 26, 16:15:22
Sorry, should have been more specific.

I'm planning on using Awesome story mod, as I will accept no substitutes. Once story mode is enabled, I don't really have a problem with the sims changing or quitting jobs or whatever.  I currently have it disabled, as I'm trying to set up a (somewhat) realistic situation where sims have a job that makes sense for them, and since all of the famblies are new to the neighborhood, I don't want them all to be level 1 dishwashers or snitches or whatever. So I play a fambly, get them the "right" job, maybe get them a few promotions, assign their kids to a certain school, and then move on to do the same thing with a different fambly (all with Story Mode off).

What I'm concerned about is if I have to go back to one of those famblies to tweak something, I've noticed that on occasion they have gotten fired or switched jobs or whatever (again, this is with Story Mode off). If I make the sim Sacred, will that prevent such an occurance (even though Story Mode is not yet turned on)? Once I have the famblies set up the way I want, I plan on turning off the Sacred thing for all of them, turning on Story Mode, and letting them have at it in whatever way their stupid sim hearts desire. Until that point though, I want them to stay the way I set them.

I'll try playing with the gain/lose work performance setting switches and see if that'll work.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Question about making famblys sacred on: 2011 February 24, 16:08:56
I have a new large 'hood set up, and before I turn them loose with Story Mode on, I wanted to set up certain things (specifically jobs and job levels). The problem is that once I get one fambly set up, if I later switch back to them, oftentimes they have completely different jobs than what I gave to them, or they've gotten demoted, or whatever.

If I make them Sacred, will that keep them at their current job, even with Story Mode turned off? I know when I searched, it seemed to suggest that due to EAxian programming, sims would often be bombing out at work and school even when they're marked as Sacred, but that was an older post from last year, and I'm not sure if it was fixed or not.

Thanks in advance.

Removing all mods, starting the game, saving, and then re-adding the mods cut down my save times considerably as well.  Went from 6 minutes saves down to less than a minute.
8  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Using Aging Off/Story Mode Off - game takes 18 minutes to save on: 2009 July 13, 21:53:16
I'm also having long saves (a couple of minutes or so sounds about right) using the Riverview hood.  It's very crowded (I moved all of the Sunset Valley sims into Riverview, along with a few others...altogether I have about 60 famblies) and I can't figure out if it's due to the large number of famblies, or if it's due to something else that I don't know about.  I'm only using AwesomeMod, the penis mod, the buyable lifefruits/fish, and the one that equalizes all of the beds' energy gains.

My saves in a regular Riverview hood prior to my mass combination were only a few seconds.  Gonna test out a few things and get back with you.

ETA: Took out all the mods except AM, saves are still long (actually about 5 minutes long, since I timed it using the "smoke a cigarette" method...very scientific).  I'm gonna assume it's because of the large number of famblies in the 'hood.

Does this still exist?  And was it done the same way as the 2005 one, where it's just an .exe file, no disk needed to play?  I mean, I personally don't want to pay for it, and if I just, oh, I don't know, stumbled across it someplace - like say, the word wide intraweb - then I'd probably download it.

But yeah, anyway, is it still around?  Somewhere?

Danke.

Yes, remember the fun when they sad they weren't going to release a stand-alone patch for one of their expansions?  I forget which.  Their excuse was something along the lines of "It's too hard to fix the bugs in a stand-alone patch, so we're just going to put it in the expansion."

Manual Nav is the first hack I stuck in when I started testing hacks, too. Smiley

Hey SaraMK, any chance that you'll post the LS families and houses once you get the wallpaper/floor issue resolved?

I'm actually in the process of uploading the houses to my simpage. But I will not fix the wall/floor problem, it's just way too much work since the walls/floors don't actually exist in Sims 2 and would need to be converted (although apparently someone is working on that). I just put some random walls and floors in all the houses.

Uploading families isn't safe (installing occupied houses will blow up the game, you know), but I might upload clones of some of the sims, since I've seen a couple of people ask for them. Don't know why anyone would want them, really, since they're just the usual ugly Maxis-made sims.

When you say "simpage" do you mean on the Exchange?  Or your website?

I'm one of those people who would like to have the families in my regular game.  Why?  I don't know, I'm just weird like that.  I have a Maxis neighborhood (thanks to you, since it's Pleasantview, Veronaville, and Strangetown all merged) and I'd like to add these families to that neighborhood.  Or, alternatively, if you were going to actually create a Sims2 neighborhood featuring the Life Stories families, I'd take that too. Smiley

I think he's cute too.  He looks like he gotz personality.  He'd be a good looking dog for an old man.

And no dog looks cute when they're in the poop pose.

I'd be ok with those options...if they put on something fugly, well...at least it's different than what they wore the day before.  And I don't know about your house, but when I was growing up, my sister's were constantly wearing one another's clothes (and fighting over them).
15  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TUTORIAL: Merging the Maxis neighborhoods. on: 2007 January 02, 05:49:52
Using your New And Improved Method, Sara, is it now possible to attach additional downtowns without problems?  Or should we still avoid that?
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project on: 2006 December 30, 00:23:14
Ok, I sort of know how to create the pregnancy token - at least, I know how to actually create it, but I don't know what info to set it for so that Claudio (or whatever his name is) is the actual father, and so Olivia shows up as the mother.  Sara, if you're still around and reading this thread, can you help a brutha out?
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project on: 2006 December 26, 16:11:13
Quick question about fixing Maxis's broke sims...

I know how to correct the DNA of the Strangetown/Veronaville sims, but how do I go about fixing Olivia's bugged pregnancy if I bring her back from the dead?  Also, are there any other sim-related problems I need to look out for?

(I know that you fixed this in your original download, SaraMK, but if I wanted to combine the neighborhoods on my own, how would I go about fixing the pregnancy and any other issues?)

Thanks for the help everyone.

I found that indeed, I did have to have the boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true in my startup file, or else the simDNA cheat did not work.  However, it does do exactly what I need, thanks.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visitor-Enabled objects? on: 2006 May 28, 13:51:32
No...I suppose I could give that a shot.  I usually have my playable sim doing his/her own skilling, and let all the other sims on the lot make their own decisions as to what they'll do.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visitor-Enabled objects? on: 2006 May 28, 13:09:54
Right.

I mean ALL the sims in my neighborhood.  In my neighborhood.  In my neighborhood.  Yes, all of the sims in my neighborhood.

Sorry, had a Sesame Street moment there.

So, anyway, I figure if someone can make working out fun (and on my community lot, that seems to be what most of the sims do, is head right for the workout items), then there ought to be a way to make studying mechanical fun (or, failing that, to get the reward objects visitor enabled, because those are fun, right?)
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Visitor-Enabled objects? on: 2006 May 28, 04:20:12
I was looking for some visitor enabled bookshelves (for my community lots) earlier today, but had no luck.

I force all my sims to skill up at community lots, and it's great that they can get creativity, cleaning, logic, and body there (thanks to Squinge's visitor enabled career reward objects)...but I can't seem to find anything for them to gain mechanical or cooking.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Are you a natural blonde? on: 2006 May 28, 04:10:33
I've been de-aging a lot of elders lately, and they pop out with a random hair color.  Is there a way, in-game, to check what color hair they are supposed to have?  I like them to be natural, and it's tedious to look up every one in SimPE, so I'm hoping that something somewhere will allow me to check it in the game itself.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, why aren't any children or teens showing up at my community lot?  I built it downtown, and I thought that might be the problem, but after moving the lot to my regular neighborhood, I still have only elders and adults showing up.  Any ideas?
