To be fair, this guy is obviously ESL. I know jezzer is a new grammar cop, and thus eager to do his noble duty, but this seems a little harsh. I mean, if I were posting on, for example, a french sim site, all I could say is "OU EST LA BIBLIOTEQUE?" over and over.

Meh. I have no desire to play sims socially. Actually, I have no desire to play games socially in general. For me, social gaming = late night Mario Kart and nostalgic Goldeneye sessions. I would prefer it if this were a stand-alone game, like Sims Castaways or whatever. Then the teeny boppers could moon over their pixels together and misanthropic types can get on with the srs bznz of Simming.

TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Borked game won't show cc - or is it just a launcher fail on my behalf?
|

I've been using twallan's noCD mod and bypassing the launcher, as my pets disc is really scratched. But I un-bypassed the launcher today to install a world, which seemed to install a-ok. However, now that I've bypassed it again, (by changing S3Launcher.exe to TS3W.exe in my info.plist) my game loads up until the point where you pick a save file to play, then gives a "please insert disc" error. Halp.
I deleted caches; took out all cc except for the nocd mod; but nothing is working. To my uninitiated brain, it looks like all cc has stopped working, but without that particular bit of cc, I can't play at all!
ETA: I play on OS X.

Yeah, double posting and adding to your already abundant collection of ellipsis's really won't help your cause.
instead of you also adding to the abundance, u could have answered my post and helped me I take it from this, you have no idea what an elipsis is? Because yeah, there aren't any in my post.

TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Broken Lot? Need help asap :(

Hey everyone! I'm completely devestated right now! My House, which I have been working on for AGES! seems to be broken. I really need help fixing this, because I can NOT lose this house! What happens is: when i load the lot, the screen stays black for about 2 minutes, except for the menue, i figure my computer takes a while to load the graphics, then it appears, but when I try to zoom in/move the camera it freezes, or the camera jerks back and forth (I don't know how to explain it better) I can still select different tools/etc but shortly after the game crashes. This only happens on this lot, other lots are fine! I've already deleted tons of custom downloads, but I never had problems with the game beeing laggy before, i have quite alot of unused space and RAM left. What is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks alot, i appreciate every reply <3 If you don't use spellcheck, the alots come in the night and eat your face. It's true, it happened to surely once, that's why she had to grow a beard to cover the gnawed patch.

Because I thought maybe a few of the asshole troll's wouldn't be on? Actually I thought if I reconciled and admitted to not knowing much, and put specifics down that someone would at least post one helpful link to an outside page or even a few links to a thread on this site (even if just a tiny bit).
I just want to mod my game! No need to be all snippy just because I am not "holier than thou" like the rest of you!
It's hardly trolling if its the accepted attitude of the place. It's funny, because the first hit you get if you type "mod sims 3" into google takes you to a site where you can find plenty of information on adding mods to your game.

I realized that a certain amount of ridicule was inevitable but would a little help be too much to ask here? I did of course find the AwesomeMod! but everything I can find there is for TS3 - which I don't have. If there isn't a version for TS2 I'd appreciate just being told as much. However, if there IS a TS2 version hanging around I can't find it.
I have to say, it is rather cruel of those mean old Pirates to send you over here with no preparation. Perhaps you should go back to PMDB and this time, make sure they give you the magic password. That way all your questions can be answered. Until then, I'm sorry but we can't help you, however much we would like to.

haha I was also looking at the Asus G74SX since bestbuy has it for 1,099 and after looking at amazon and newegg that price doesn't seem to bad for this model
tho wouldn't more power be a good thing rather then bad?
How difficult is it to type those three extra letters? Seriously, if you want people to help you, at least try to look as if you've spent more than a nanosecond on writing your responses.

The "this is what I have! It runs great!" posts are almost useless without specs and game setup. Game settings, CC, Expansions and Stuff Packs, plus the specs on the Laptop would probably be much more helpful, just saying. Google could supply the specs, but not the rest of that info.
Yep, this is very true. I didn't provide specs though because I was referring to a five year old laptop and an outdated game. My point wasn't so much, "get what I've got!", more "it's not beyond the realm of possibility to play Sims on a laptop". Also, Madame Mim, way to be patronising. Yeah, of course there's more to life than computers. Just because you own a laptop doesn't mean you're surgically attached to it. What about students? People who travel for work and need to do work on trains and planes? People who don't have a TV or any practical space for a desktop (eg people flat-sharing in small flats). There are myriad reasons why someone might prefer a laptop over a desktop. And as for tablets, I have one of those too. It's great for short journeys where you want something to distract you whilst travelling. However, the iPad (yes, of course there are others, but it is the market leader) has its limitations, especially if you're going to be away from a computer for a long time. Also, it strikes me that once you factor in the need for a separate keyboard if you want to do more than just some light typing, you might as well be carrying a lightweight netbook.
