Build Mode > Roofs?

Are you wanting more storeys, or a roof?
27  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: yes, i broke it. on: 2007 December 24, 07:55:04
I place the blame on tight pants. Probably the Inteenimater if you have it.
28  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Windows has low virtual memory - increasing memory, applications denied" - on: 2007 December 22, 21:43:40

Alternatively, right click on My Computer, select Properties. Go to Advanced, then Performance. Then find the Virtual Memory option and knock it up a notch. BAM!
29  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: too many .bak files on: 2007 December 22, 17:55:51
I believe that the .bak files are just back-ups, correct? So they should be safe to delete.
Yeah, it's just SimPE backing up everything in case you happen to have the average intelligence of a BBSer. I think the option to stop creating them should be in SimPE's options somewhere.
30  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Command to change the volume of cinematics? on: 2007 December 21, 16:52:37
Somewhat flawed solution: Turn the volume on everything else up so it's at the same level as the cutscenes. Then:
Vista: With the Sims 2 running, right click on the speaker icon in the system tray, and open the volume mixer. Then drag TS2's slider to the level which you want the volume at.
XP: You'll have to turn down the volume for everything, then turn it back up once you've finished playing.
31  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What's in YOUR Downloads? on: 2007 December 20, 08:12:15
Attached. I also have the LS careers and objects in the base game object bins, but I can't be bothered plugging in my external hard drive to get a listing of those.
32  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: 'tis the season! on: 2007 December 19, 15:41:42
I think TJ has a mounted cow mascot head which makes other cow mascots run off the lot in terror. Don't think he's made mounted heads of the other two annoying NPCs though.

Add to userstartup.CHEAT

Code:
uintProp maxTotalSims x+y
uintProp maxTotalHumans x
uintProp maxTotalPets y

35  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: 'One or more expansion packs are installed' on: 2007 December 15, 14:37:12
Don't think XP still has that one anymore.
XP still has it, but you need to use rmdir in Vista.
36  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims 2 FreeTime Expansion? on: 2007 December 15, 09:55:46
I think there's already a thread about it (check RL).
37  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: how turn a vampire back into a human o.o is there a way ? on: 2007 December 09, 21:06:18
...this is in the instruction manual (or if you ARR!'d the game, it's still in the Game Tips). I think the Lot Debugger should also be able to do it.
38  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: 'tis the season! on: 2007 December 06, 20:26:47
Kate, you may have a couple of other problems. It would be trivially easy to set an automated downloader on these, and drain tons of valuable bandwidth, all the while skipping the main HTML pages (and therefore the ads).
39  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: More Awful Than You! December: 'tis the season! on: 2007 December 02, 23:48:57
Who wants Santa Claus in Kuribo's Shoe? Apparently nine people (click the image):
40  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: bringing money home from uni on: 2007 December 02, 19:47:36
Here's how the game calculates it:

If you do not have no20khandouts installed: everyone gets 20K, regardless of how much they should get.
If you do have no20khandouts installed: everyone gets a proportional share of the money (I'm not sure if this calculation includes dormies, or if it's just playable sims).
41  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Constant momentary freezing. Stupid BV? Stupid computer? Or something else? on: 2007 December 02, 14:00:52
Well, there's the patch, but that apparently breaks more things than it fixes (and the things fixed were already fixed by hacks). Still, I haven't heard of anyone's game exploding from running the Unholy Hybrid edition (although I'm still running BV unpatched).
42  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help! Accidentally stopped .package files from being openable on: 2007 December 02, 13:57:59
Left click? I think it is right click, isn't it?
Normally it is, but I seem to remember Windows having a "lefty flip" option for people who are left handed, so there's a chance that morriganrant might be using that.
43  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: University / Secret Society FOR the Old Guys like G.W.Bush on: 2007 December 01, 20:17:56
I can't see the appeal of this either (unless the OP is really bad at earning reward objects or something), and think about what would happen in real life if this happened: a creepy old guy who had left the University 20 years ago comes back. Do the students:
a. welcome back this person with open arms, even though most of them will have never seen or heard of him before?
b. call the police?
c. throw things?

Because, in reality, it's more likely to be b (and c, depending on how drunk they are) than a.

And why does the title mention Bush? It wasn't there when this thread was first posted, and I can only assume that its purpose is to try and get more people into this thread.
44  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Help! Accidentally stopped .package files from being openable on: 2007 December 01, 19:20:17
That was a .SIMS2PACK, not a .package. And .SIMS2PACKs should be opening with Clean Installer (or *blech* the EAxis installer), not SimPE or BodyShop (.packages should still be opening in SimPE or in nothing at all if you don't have SimPE installed).
45  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Objects for Download for Life Stories on: 2007 December 01, 17:49:35
Four of them are in the real game, can't say I've ever seen the Gargoyle before. Still, unless I'm mistaking it, that's an EAxis buyable cow plant, which could be useful given the buyable collection breaking feature of BV.

OP, the arcade game, the cow plant, and the bonfire all came with University. The makeover station is from OFB. Never seen the gargoyle before though.
46  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Teen Style Stuff's Computer Needs Update on: 2007 December 01, 17:04:59
Any piece of custom content can be made not to have the CC asterisk, it's just a matter of putting it in the right folder (place in %BASEGAMEINSTALLDIR%\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins instead of Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads).
47  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I only have the Nighlife expansion pack. Is the harderjobs hack compatible? on: 2007 November 30, 14:31:26
Harderjobs isn't in the NL directory, so yes, you will need OFB.
48  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Forcing WS resolution on non-WS monitor - is it a VBT? on: 2007 November 30, 11:45:04
I think most people with 1024x768 monitors play in fullscreen mode, and so don't notice the problem (I don't use windowed mode that often, but when I do, this drives me up the wall).
49  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How to get rid of SecuRom, NOW on: 2007 November 29, 20:39:16
Notes on removal from Vista: running cmd as root like the first post no longer works. Instead, enter the following:

schtasks /sc Once /ST (current time + 1 minute) /TR cmd /TN cmd /IT

EDIT: Wait a minute, why did I get SecuROM 7.02 when the version on BV is apparently 7.20? And why did I even get it given that I haven't started the legit executable up?

NEVERMIND: It was apparently installed by GTA: San Andreas. The cmd command is still useful though.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cellphones in Hotels & Vampire-Plantsim bugs on: 2007 November 28, 16:21:48
Here's the list of what patches what:

Base game: Patches nothing. How would you patch something that hasn't been installed yet?
All EPs: Patches the base game only.
HP05/06: Patches the base game only.
FFS and GLS: Patches OFB if installed, otherwise patches base game.
Celebration!, H&M and TSS: Patches Pets and/or Seasons if installed, otherwise patches base game.
Deluxe: I'm going to assume that the base game would be patched from the NL install, but NL itself might not be,

I think that's right... so if you installed all EPs and all SPs, you'd still need to patch NL and BV (Uni patch is included with the NL patch).
