1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Pregnancy Controller Issue on: 2008 April 08, 04:49:20
I've been having a problem with pregnant sims throwing a pregnancy controller issue when they are about to enter into the second trimester. I can't reset or cancel the error. The only way to get out of it is to hit delete and then exit without saving.

I've pulled all hacks from the game and started adding them back in to attempt to figure out what is causing the problem. And have determined that it's one of the hacks from here as these are the only hacks I haven't added back into the game yet and the problem is gone.

I'm just not sure exactly which hack from the MATY folder is causing the problem, to my knowledge I haven't downloaded anything  from here that would target a pregnant sim.

Here's the error log. Hopefully that will point you in the right direction.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Updating CC for FT on: 2008 March 18, 22:04:16
There is a simpler way to update computer. Like bookcase, just changing the Object Data is enough in FT. No need to extract and replace pie menu.

Object Data > RAW Data > Interaction Table ID 128 -> 129. Commit and save.

Would this work to update Monique's hacked computer? Without causing problems with the shopping and banking and all the extra features s/he added?

How about we mark my reaction up to the whole can't kill off the customers and expect to keep your job frame of mind. And ya know - I choose to believe that we kitten killers provide a really good service… think of the population control we exert every time we load the game… Grin

Right - back to lurk mode.  Wink

Wow - ya know I know that you're pretty much taking a huge chance of being ridiculed if you even attempt to post at MATY, and I'm willing to accept the basic anal attitude that I may encounter due to my post, simply because MATY is well known to have the best minds when it comes to game glitches.

Had I even once suspected that it was an issue with Inteen - I would have posted this question where Jase could have the chance of seeing it and helping me determine if it was a unique glitch surrounding the Inteen. But I'm pretty much positive that it's not hack related, as the issue occurs with and without hacks installed. I'm not a complete moron who doesn't understand that a hack by its very nature changes how the game works which can produce unwanted results.

What I am is a person who is currently working several extra hours at work and simply forgot to add that detail, so let me further add that when I turn on boolprop it doesn't produce an error when I attempt to adopt a child, it just gives me the wrong kid every time.

jsalemi -  Thanks for the suggestion. I have updated all of Jm's hacks and have the most current versions of both insim and inteen installed. At this point I think I'm just going mark it as an unusual glitch that is happening with my game and ignore it and head back into lurker mode.

Nope nothing with adoption and nothing at all by Squinge. I have mainly JM's hacks, Insim, and the kitten killer. That I know of anyway - I run clean installer so I don't think anything slipped in.

Edit to add: I also use Sims 2 Hack Conflict Detection Utility by Paladin whenever I add a hack and nothing show's up as conflicting.

Did a search and couldn't find anything about this, so think I'm safe in posting the question…  Grin

You used to be able to create a few sim kids and they'd be the first in line for adoption - but know every time I try it, I get one from the maxis/ea bad genetics pool…. Did this change with BV or do I have an annoying glitch going on???
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Love potion question on: 2006 August 14, 01:35:46
I was wondering what was up with the whole love potion thing? What is it supposed to do? Cause it doesn't do anything good or bad in my game.

Thanks.
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I'm really starting to hate my computer... on: 2006 February 05, 05:46:25
When I use pleasantview I have zero problems with the game. I have never been able to create a custom neihborhood though. It will work for awhile, and then I'll go to use it and it just crashes the system. I have uni and nightlife.
Here's the info you asked for ..
Memory is 1022MB Ram
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(P) 4CPU3.00GHz(2CPU's)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, build 2600)

Name: RADEON X700 Pro
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
Chip type: RADEON X700 Pro (0x5E4B)
Aproxx. Total Memory: 256.0 MB

Thanks-- everybody else I've asked just tells me to take the case off and blow it out with canned air. I do that weekly, as instructed by my brother the computer guru who has no clue about the sims though. So, even if you can't help me thank you for trying!

First off, just to warn you. I'm am completely techno stupid… so to describe anything that has anything to do with electronics, it'll probably end up being … the what-cha-call-it that's attached to that thingamajig….. Grin

Okay - here's what it's doing. Whenever I attempt to create a new neighborhood it will cause my computer to crash. A complete reboot. It doesn't matter if I'm trying to use a maxis new neighborhood or if I'm using one that I've downloaded. It doesn't give me one of those error report things when it does it either. So I have no idea how to get any kind of information for you to show you what I'm talking about. I've tried to reinstall the whole game, and just deleting the sims 2 folder in my documents. Doesn't help.

So, now that I've given you pretty much nothing to work with … any idea's on why this could be happening?

Thanks -
Strlght
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Custom neighborhoods causes my system to reboot... on: 2005 November 24, 05:57:07
Every time I attempt to create a new neighborhood the game crashes to a full reboot of my system. I only use the maxis neighborhood templates, and really have no problems with the maxis made neighborhoods.
As far as hacks go, just JM and TwoJeffs and one by crammyboy and only the ones that are compatible with Nightlife. I have all the expansion packs and the holiday pack, but have really had this problem since day one.  Any ideas why this would happen?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Help for the techno stupid ... on: 2005 November 18, 14:47:15
At the risk of sounding completely techno stupid -- which I am  Roll Eyes -- I got the "back-up" holiday pack, but how do I actually make it work? Do I just unpack it and then burn it or do I have to do something with the files before I burn it?
Any and all help will be very much appreciated.
