If you're using TJ's Triplets and Quads hack, then maybe it's the same thing I've noticed. Usually, when I get twins using that, one looks a lot like the 'mother' and the other looks a lot like the 'father'. Even if one of the parents has recessive eye/hair colour, and both are CAS.

No, I'm only using the Pregnancy for All hack!
Hmm, well maybe that's it, as I'm also using that one. I think it's a nice feature, really.

The Sims is X-rated now? Since when? It's not like there are graphic depictions of anything.

Aliens = Sim goes bye bye. Comes back. Starts pregnancy symptoms. No-one ever said anything about rape.
Necrophilia = So the Sim looks a little different, and lurches about. They aren't *corpses* for crying out loud.
STDs = This one I just don't get. It makes no sense when applied to vampirism.

Nude Sims have censor blurs, and even then they have no 'naughty bits' unless the user has downloaded some hack for that. Woohoo is done under cover of bed, or wherever else it is done. The hot tub is probably the most explicit, and even then you don't really see much of anything.

As for the 'Woohoo > Pregnancy > Baby' thing, anyone old enough to play the Sims should know where babies come from.

I don't get where this 'X-rated' content is. It's not in my game, that's for sure.

I've got a knowledge sim with the lifetime want of 'Graduate 3 Children from College', rather than max skills or reach the top of a career. He rolled it after reaching mad scientist, which was his first lifetime want. I expected something more like reaching the top of the medical career, but seeing that knowledge Sims can want more children makes that lifetime want seem a little more sensible.

I mean, he is married to a family sim anyway, and their first two children have already graduated college, so it's not that hard to do. It was just a little unexpected.

Well, that's a shame. I do cheat a lot (In just my latest neighbourhood I have three main households. I already have 3 alien toddlers through cheating, one alien baby through a wierd pregnancy glitch, and then a Sim who actually got abducted naturally in the first hour of stargazing who is pregnant with twins, also naturally!) because I really like the alien aspect. I've never quite gotten over them, although I quickly got bored with zombies and vampires.

I'm still really new at this stuff, so I'd rather not have to change each alien's genetics myself, I'd find it much easier to just live with the black hair. I just thought I'd see if this was possible at all. It doesn't look like it is, but I'll be keeping an eye on this topic just in case. Smiley
356  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help Needed, Re: Replacing the Default Pollination Tech on: 2006 February 12, 04:50:22
Hmm... Okay. That makes more sense, but I still can't see how to change the poll tech's hair colour.
357  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help Needed, Re: Replacing the Default Pollination Tech on: 2006 February 12, 03:33:04
Hmm... Okay... One of those seems to require downloading the multi-PT thing, and those others only modify the facial structure. How do I change the hair colour? I want to give the PT a recessive hair colour (blonde) because I'm sick of all the black haired sims that I keep getting.

Thanks! Those look perfect. Now to get to work... Smiley

I have a Sim that I would like to use as the default Pollination Tech, but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. In fact, I don't have the slightest idea what to do.

I've exported the Sim to bodyshop, and tweaked it a bit because it looked strange as a toddler/child, but I'm not really sure what to do next. I've looked on several forums for some kind of an answer or tutorial, but I couldn't find anything.

If somebody could point me to a tutorial of some kind, I'd appreciate it. Smiley
360  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Cash Flow Statements on: 2006 February 03, 09:05:18
I missed that, too. I liked to see how much money was coming in and out, especially where the money was going. If I had a broke family then I'd check and see where most of the money was going, maid/gardener, build/buy, etc, so I could cut back on that area, if possible...

There are quite a few things from the Sims1 that I miss, and there are some that I was surprised to see that they haven't been incorporated into the Sims2. The lack of financial statements fits into the latter category.
361  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Maxis Message on: 2006 January 31, 10:49:58
I killed off a Sim today with the intent to zombify her ... but, of course, her husband comes running into the still-burning room to cry about it. So he died too, and I got the 'Death is a Taurus' message, and the 'LIFE simulator' one.

I can't believe that this is the first time I've seen those messages, though. In the original Sims, I frequently killed off entire 8-Sim families for no good reason. I hadn't realised just how much the generational and genetic aspects of the Sims 2 had changed the way I played the game until just now... Interesting.

Wow. I've heard of sims actually dying on dates, and the surviving partner still getting a 'dream date' rating, but never sims dying from bad dates. I have to try that now. (now = one of these days, not today, but later)

I have so many things listed as 'Have to try on unsuspecting Romance sims' ... One of these days, I'll get around to them all. Those poor romance sims, they'll never know what hit them. Wink (an 'evil grin' smilie would be perfect here)
363  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Downtown v. hood on: 2006 January 11, 19:10:04
Hmm, I'm curious now, as I've never had a downtown home...

Do the 'normal' walkbys come walking past home lots in downtown as well?

And is there any perceptible difference in load times or game speed between the downtown homes and the neighbourhood homes?
364  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Zombies on: 2006 January 07, 23:31:31
My daughter had a teen zombie in her game, not long after she got uni.  I watched for a little while, but after that I couldn't bear it.  This previously reasonable looking teen had turned into this ugly, creepy thing.  With the head to one side all the time.  It was sad to watch.

Hehe. I actually played that zombie-teen for a while, too. Sent him off to college. Met a guy with blue hair (matched his skin, sort of). Graduated. Got joined to the Blue-haired guy. Fulfilled his 'Have 10 Kids' want through a combination of alien pregnancies, adoptions, and 'preg for all' hack... Oh, and his blue-haired partner's 'Have 10 Kids' want. But because of the alien births, it ended up being more like 15 kids.

I had lots of fun with that entire family tree actually (the zombie was not actually part of the main faimly tree line, but actually adopted as a just-for-fun kid by one of my CAS adult couple who had become the elder widow) obviously this was back before I knew about the BFBVFS. Wink

Then there was the teen that I made a zombie AND a vampire, actually I was experimenting with scholarships using a group of four teens, a zombie AND vampire, a zombie, a vampire, and I forget what the fourth one ended up as... I never really played them beyond that, actually. Tongue
365  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What is your aspiration? on: 2005 December 23, 07:27:42
I think I'd be family.

But, while I'm waiting for someone to come along and contribute their genetic material, the Sims is a reasonable substitute. Even the adult sims are so childlike. Of course, given the things I do to my sims, perhaps it's a good idea that I haven't started my own family yet. Wink
366  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Missing father from the family tree on: 2005 November 03, 07:50:09
I think Nightlife removes the Pollination Tech relationship in all new births after the install, but leaves the existing aliens alone. The Pollination Tech still contributes his genetics, but now you can 'breed' aliens born of different human parents without it being incest.

Woo! Welcome, TwoJeffs!

I don't like to have to visit too many sites, I don't really have the time. Since I use a lot of hacks by Pescado and a lot by TwoJeffs, well, it's nice and convenient for them both to be on the one site. Wink
368  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: "Cursed" Monday...:) on: 2005 October 29, 08:05:36
I've been getting them pg usually on the first or second day of their work week so they DO get paid vacation, because they weren't otherwise.  I had to get one couple a counterfeiting machine so they could get enough money to buy a crib!  (And then they got busted for it!)  And it was because the move-in-to-a-new-house time always starts on Monday, and they both started their work week on Wed. or Thur.  Had her get pg right away.  No paid vacation on days not normally worked, even though she had already gotten the job.

But the sims that have been getting paid for non-work days (that I've noticed) are ones that have been in the job for awhile, so maybe the length of time on the job has something to do with it.  But why not my EG?  That would be nice, an extra 10G a week for being pg!
I have a theory... I haven't seen this 'cursed' day off thing, or paid much attention to which days off my pregnant sims were getting paid for - although I did notice that their vacation days went down every day they stayed home, regardless of whether they would normally have had to work that day or not.

But, my theory is, that it is somehow tied to job performance. If they've just gotten the job, or just been promoted, the performance bar resets to halfway. Maybe it also does this when they move house with an existing job?
369  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Don't Talk, EAT! grrrr on: 2005 October 05, 08:42:42
They get memories of meeting everyone (including all the service NPCs like the person who shows them to their seat when dining etc).  When I have sims downtown, my other neighbourhood sims are there chatting away to any and everyone - a couple have made new friends I have had nothing to do with.

Indeed, one particular sim (Kim) seems determined to win back her ex-husband (Ryan) entirely behind my back.  He hates her, but they keep meeting in town when I am not in control of either of them and chatting their way back to a positive relationship.  If Ryan hadn't already remarried I might just let her win... but she doesn't deserve him!
I've had one of my sims get into a fight with a strange woman while I was on the lot with a different sim. When I played that sim's lot next, the sim was furious at the sim he'd fought with, although I have no idea why they'd gotten into a fight in the first place, since he's happily married, and she was a complete stranger. 370  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NaNoWriMo! on: 2005 October 04, 15:02:52
I did NaNoWriMo last year, for the first time. I bought an Alphasmart 3000 (sort of like an electronic typewriter thing - cheaper than even a second hand laptop, and only capable of wordprocessing, which reduced distractions slightly) last October specifically for it, as I'd heard them recommended for NaNo in particular.

In the end, I 'only' wrote about 15k words. Admittedly, I'd never written so much on one story, but I still wasn't quite satisfied. This year, I'm going to try writing several stories at once, since I discovered that I tend to jump around a lot, and hopefully have a total of 50k combined.

Of course, if I don't succeed this year, I'll simply try again next year! Smiley

Unfortunately, last year, there were only two other people in my city doing this, and for three weeks around then I was out of town (one week travelling by car with mild car sickness, and the two weeks in between those trips staying with family and actually doing things instead of writing) so I didn't actually get to 'meet' anyone else face to face to discuss our progress. I think that might've helped around the second and third weeks, when I was beginning to wonder what I'd gotten myself in for.
