26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: Coffee-Flavored Coffee (aka, Hot Beverages for Traditionalists) on: 2011 July 25, 03:00:00
Smiley thanks, I hated the silly drinks they have in the game...I also wish they had something other then just something sweet to eat for breakfast...waffles and pancakes...cereal, toast and jam...bowel...every day, hell...

Why are your puddings not eating spaghetti or Goopy Carbonara for breakfast like everyone else's?  All food is breakfast food.
27  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Eco friendly family house on: 2011 July 09, 16:30:32
Actually, it's a terrible Generations-equipped house. ACCEPT NO KEWIAN-BASED SUBSTITUTES!

I agree that Generations has landed us with a heap of nice-looking Kewian-based rubbish.
28  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Very Important !!! Question about fix for spellbook on: 2011 July 05, 18:50:38
While it is true that consideration is given for ESL (or freestyle communication attempts from other language), it is also true that some requests are less than totally important.  For example, learning the name of the author of a non-MATY fix, for the sole purpose of posting a link to that fix on another forum/site, could be considered non-urgent bzns.

I am not overcome by the OP's sense of crisis in this matter.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Plots / Re: Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House on: 2011 July 04, 13:22:49
Not bad, architecturally, if a bit heavy on the dark brick.  This is not a deal breaker, since individual users can customize as they wish.  On the other hand, it's got a lot of wide open spaces inside, it seems.  The screenshots suggest that the distance between shower and terlet are quite far.  Given that puddings need to walk places to do things (or run, depending on your settings), this represents lots of wasted time.  Perhaps Frank enjoyed his morning walk to the terlet, and subsequent 3 mile hike to the kitchen - builds an appetite for breakfast.
30  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: New Patch 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0 on: 2011 June 23, 00:22:05
My problems with patch 1.22 and how I solved them (and how I caused them, too):

[expurgated]

I just thought I'd share in the event somebody else is as reckless/forgetful/senile as I am.

Hard to believe that would be possible, and yet...

I don't care if my kids put me in a nursing home, as long as I can have my laptop and my Sims!

Would they do this?  When?
31  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: AwesomeMod is, well, Awesome - New Version & Install on: 2011 June 17, 20:41:10
I know there is a long-standing tradition in English to criticise all things French, but don't feel you, as a French person, have to be self-denigrating.  After all, the French have given the world a lot of things, such as wine that you can call either burgundy or claret, Quebec, and that thing where you spit after you say something to express displeasure.

Also, without there being real French people, English speakers could not do comedy in outrageous French accents.

Don't sell yourself short.
32  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Sneak here, there and everywhere on: 2011 June 17, 20:21:12
No luck with "fixall" or forcing a reset or error, eh?

At least it isn't the hopelessly annoying "I just had woohoo!" strut.
33  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Rule of 6 for Generations? on: 2011 June 10, 18:07:41
Although I hear Generations adds something there: Now you can wander around town menacing people with your cane, which is definitely a plus.

My Great Aunt Ada used her cane to great effect on Great Uncle Bob, whether we were in public or not.

Hopefully that will be worth the trouble and time of downloading and updating again.  The cane thing sounds rather fun, actually.  Otherwise the threads I've seen on Generations suggests that it is a bit less than expected for a full EP.
34  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Rule of 6 for Generations? on: 2011 June 06, 16:59:44
  • YA 12 - 18-30
  • adult 24 - 30-54 (I'm in some quandry as to whether that should be 36 - 30-66 {but I'm trying to keep adult close to real breeding years})
  • elder 30 - 54-84
Those are pretty close to the numbers I run, although I use YA as 18-36, and Adult as 36-60, with Elders at 60-72. Be aware that elders do not actually DIE immediately at the end of their age stage, they only become CAPABLE of dying at that point, so the elder age stage should be slightly shorter than normal life expectancy, so that they will actually DIE around normal life expectancy. If you drag it out to 84, they will NEVER die before then, and your average life expectancy will be 90+, which is unrealistic. Also, unpleasant.

Unpleasant for the sim or for the player?  Sim elders seem to be able to lead full active lives, including sparring, right up to the point where they drop.  The only difference seems to be that they do it in a slightly stooped over posture, and get somewhat more bony looking.
35  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Unsetting "Read Only" Files in Win 7 on: 2011 May 31, 15:00:06
Yes, Win7 has all sorts of "I'm smarter than you are" features, which mainly seem focused on making sure you don't do things that you want to do.  It consistently wants to ask and re-ask me whether I really want to let uTorrent go through the firewall, even though I have set an exception.  Full administrator rights means nothing to this OS.
36  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Generations: What Sucks, What's Fucked, and What Did EA Get Right by Utter Luck on: 2011 May 30, 16:54:31
I'm always surprised when new stuff comes out that EA doesn't just skip animations altogether, like they did with cars which don't actually park, and people who just materialize inside them, rather than actually getting in the car.  Why not just have sims come to the bottom of the stairs and then materialize on the next floor?  Saves time and animation in an...er...animated (allegedly) game. Tongue
37  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Horrible background noise Sims 3 Late Night on: 2011 May 19, 02:06:20
I have had the situation where the game plays all stereos, computer game, or TV sounds at full volume, whatever the settings for sim voices, environment etc.  On my old P4 rig, I set all sounds to low quality, and this appeared to solve the problem.  However, I never did definitively figure out what caused the problem.

Another solution is, apparently, to build a more adequate computer, which is what I did in the end.
38  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: gotta keep re-installing on: 2011 May 15, 02:20:30
It's a good thing people went to the trouble of starting multiple threads with explicit instructions so that morons would stop asking this same question over and over.  That worked like a charm.

Yes, the lengthy discussions of how the Launcher sucks rocks, and how CC can screw your game, and the step-by-step directions on how to install AM and the framework seemed entirely clear, and not written in difficult language.  On the other hand, there may be a reason why some boxes of toothpicks have instructions written on them.
39  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Help me please, for I am stupid - crash issues on: 2011 May 13, 21:43:07
So I assume I've done everything right, followed the instructions etc.

Never assume.  If it does not work, the likeliest issue is an error on your part.

Framework installed correctly?
All patched up to date, are we?
Things are in their proper directories?
Tight pants?
40  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: gotta keep re-installing on: 2011 May 13, 20:00:16
Hard to say - they aren't installed properly perhaps?  Wrong file format - are they .package files?  The information you provide is not exactly sufficient to provide a real answer.

Also, why are you using the launcher?
41  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Rule of 6 Mod Question on: 2011 May 03, 18:43:55
It works in my game.  I don't believe it is in need of constant updating.  Additionally, the RTFM states that it is a

"Crappy XML tweak changing the aging lengths to realistic scaling following the
Rule of 6, so that the 0 and 12 stages are not unnaturally elongated."

This suggests that the overall lifespan of a Sim is in line with the game's set parameters, but that the lengths of different life stages are adjusted to better reflect real life (toddler stage is not as long as young adult, for example).

42  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: n00b question! go get him :P on: 2011 April 20, 15:23:15
Yes, wearing tight pants is never helpful.
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Game won't load after installing the Awesome Mod. on: 2011 April 13, 15:03:39
Why would you play TS3 without AM, especially after a patch where they tend to introduce more bugs than they fix.

Your misconception here is that you expect logic.  This thread is a demonstration of the OP's logic-fail.  The OP will not likely even understand why you are asking this question.
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Freezing on updating on: 2011 April 01, 23:11:59
Do you bite your thumb at me, sir?
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Freezing on updating on: 2011 April 01, 19:36:34
Let's be fair, spockblock.  While this will not help the majority of MATY people, at least not those who are not summarily run off the premises because they are too stupid to live, it may be of some service to those who stumble across the forum and have only the intelligence of a boiled potato.
46  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Fight Skills on: 2011 March 31, 01:10:21
On the other hand, even if it did work, you might expect that a totally green sim, with no athletic, kung-fu, or other skill, might just get his inexperienced ass kicked anyway on his/her first outing.
47  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims Medieval on: 2011 March 29, 17:56:22
Thirty quid down the shitter then. Not that I should be remotely surprised.

Always "try" before you buy.  Caveat ovis.
48  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: How to: Less strain on your computer from any "Sim Detail" setting on: 2011 March 29, 17:04:21
This sounds like a decent idea to me.  I shall try it, as my rig is old (and the dust bunnies form a sort of beard).

Also - Grammar score for this thread so far:  Claeric 1 - Trixie 0.  (Unless anyone wants to make a case for me having used "Claeric" as a verb.)
49  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Installing Awesomemod - the simple explanation on: 2011 March 29, 16:25:39
I do this, I load the game, but I don't get passed past the loading screen?.

Answered in your other thread.  Please do not bring up the same issue in more than one thread.  In a nutshell, if it is not working, you have either NOT installed the mod or framework correctly, or your mod conflicts with some other mod.  As this is a core mod THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

Also corrected your spelling and grammar at no extra cost.
50  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Try for a baby with family members? on: 2011 March 11, 20:36:49
Heya
im searching for a mod which makes it possible for family members (e.g. brother and sister) to try for baby and not just to woohoo as in the closer family mod. Thanks for every answer.

You should seek professional help for your obvious mental issues.  I shall be awaiting your thanks for this answer.

She's German, according to the email address. There's probably an entire section of the video store devoted to this fetish where she lives.

Aha!  New learnings.  I thought the Germans just liked not shaving their legs.
