1  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Not the nVidia BSOD on: 2009 January 23, 18:07:12
Did the BSOD or Windoze error reporting reveal the driver that was the suspect in the stop error?
2  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Not the nVidia BSOD on: 2009 January 23, 16:34:10
You JUST did that?  As in right before your problem?  If so, perhaps you broke something?
3  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Not the nVidia BSOD on: 2009 January 23, 16:08:46
You should check first for a short circuit between the keyboard and monitor.

Next, clean the CPU case, especially the heatsinks, vents, and fans.

Stupid Question Number 6:  There is no Stupid Question Number 6.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wardrobe Wrangler Released! on: 2009 January 08, 20:12:26
And so we see that the moral of the story is that one can contemplate hot pants and drink with acolytes without becoming completely distracted and out of touch.

There's a lesson in that for everyone, I think.

It is often most advantageous to not be distracted and completely out of touch when the subject is hot pants.  In fact, being focussed and in touch typically is most rewarding.  How else could one arrive at the truth concealed within such profound mysteries?
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Wardrobe Wrangler Released! on: 2009 January 08, 19:07:01
So, you can access help in the forums then, Trixie?  My understanding was that they were closed.  Perhaps I am wrong.

1) This thread is not meant as a tech support for the Wrangler.

This could only be expected to happen since jfade closed his website.  This sort of thing is probably happening all over the internet.

I don't get why they're only after Mediafire, do you think they don't know about any other file hosting sites?

Perhaps the country that Mediafire is located in has more easily enforcable copyright laws thus making them an easier target.

It is probably because Mediafire allows users to upload files anonymously, if desired.

EA has intellectual property?  I always thought they were intellectually vagrant?

EA:  "You, there!  You are doing nothing, and we want you to stop it!  Cease and desist doing nothing immediately or we shall be forced to write to you a second time!"

Obviously EA contacted some high school debate club member & offered them discounted credits at the EA Store in exchange for writing that.

I'm enough of a geek to find this hilariously ironic.

13  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 02, 03:14:54
"Three Men in Black said, 'Don't report this...'"  I am reporting it anyway.

My preliminary testing seems to show that these 'henges do indeed attract the daylight disk.  In fact, with all pieces present in a otherwise undecorated sub-hood, I counted at least as many high-level sightings of the UFO to the 'hood as there were pieces, all within the first five minutes.  Unfortunately, I did not witness the low-level scanning operation, which would be the conclusive evidence of UFO attraction.  I now am wondering if the high number of attractive objects is breaking this behavior, as if they can not settle on an object to start scanning first.  Anyway, the scanning behavior is not nearly as common as the flybys, so this might be normal and expected.  If I can capture evidence of the scanning before someone else does, I will report it here.

In other news, there is indeed only one EAxis 'henge, and it is the Numenor's 'henges that are offered in ruined and intact versions.  The Numenorean 'henges are pre-EAxis, however, and they definitely do not attract the UFO like the EAxis one does, or like these seem to do.

These are awesome, Sara.  More 'henges, please!
14  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 01, 16:25:28
I think you may be thinking of Numenor's custom objects. I can't get into modthesims2 from this computer because it's blocked, but Google says the link is http://hideki.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=816988

You might be right, at that.  I have those too.  They do not attract the UFO though, unfortunately.

If you are right, and there is none, then that could be another idea for you- An intact henge.
15  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 01, 16:10:36
Eh, what henge that isn't in ruins? Didn't know one existed. Will look when I get home. If it came with Mansions, I don't have that yet.

In my game, with OFB if I remember right but it might have been another, there was included two henges, one in ruins and one still intact, with all the standing stones still in place.

I had no idea that the henge attracted UFOs, so I don't know if my pieces do.

I will put these into a currently little used and undecorated sub-hood I have and test whether they attract the daylight disk.  Perhaps if these were cloned from the original henge, then you may have inadvertently also copied the necessary code to make this happen, which would be great.  Then again, the behavior may be hard-coded into the game.  I have no idea.  I am going to find out if they do, though.

If anyone needs MOAR henge and can think of other things to do to it, let me know. I ran out of ideas last night. Too bad the ideas have started to come while I'm at work. When I get home I'm going to try to build a freakin' TOWER using those pieces.  Tongue

How about a dolmen?

I was not aware that the henge attracted anything.  Must now have a henge, and this is, as mentioned before, a lot of henge!

Well, I don't know if certain pieces actually increase the odds in a strictly additive way, but certain pieces seem to be required in order to get the UFO to visit in neighborhood view.  They apparently will not show up if there is nothing interesting for them to scan.  The henges and the UFO crash site are two for sure, and perhaps others.
16  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Edited nhood ancient henge. More henge than you can handle! on: 2008 December 01, 15:30:53
You can make so much henge now! Soooooooooo much henge! Your head will explode from all the henge you can make! Just look at all this henge!

That is freakin' awesome.  Do all pieces increase the odds of the daylight disk appearing to investigate, like the original?

Also, what about the henge that is not in ruins?  Is it included and not pictured or left out entirely?
17  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Ninjas Wear Black, Dammit! on: 2008 November 26, 20:59:10
So, understood.  I made my ninja uniform available for all occasions, so I probably would not want to go back from that, especially as outerwear, for instance.  I might actually have some use for the gray someday, so replacing it is not a priority.  I might want an old ninja in gray, for example, as if he has never had another uniform and now it is old and faded like him.  I would like to have the mask available in athletic, however, since the standard behavior loses the mask in athletic mode, as I recall.  Your picture shows that this is no longer the case with your package.

The unlocked BV ninja uniform is of much curiosity, however.  Many thanks, this is indeed great!

Just for the sake of pedantic clarity, for myself and everyone else:

EP3OFB_NinjaHatAthletic.package  [makes all colors of ninja mask available in athletic wear mode]

EP3OFB_NinjaOutfitAthletic.package  [makes all colors of ninja outfit available in athletic wear mode]

DEFAULTREPLACEMENT_BlackNinjaTexture.package  [replaces default gray OFB ninja uniform, both mask and suit, with proper black]

EP6BV_NinjaOutfitHatAthletic.package  [unlocks BV ninja uniform and mask, makes both buyable, both available in athletic wear, but does not apply any recolor to them]

Any or all packages conceivably usable together or standalone, as preferred, depending upon the desired effect?  This is correct?
18  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Ninjas Wear Black, Dammit! on: 2008 November 26, 03:53:25
Sincere apologies for the invasion, Khan.

No apologies are necessary.  I am assuming these can be used alongside those I have made already.  Also, are you saying one of these packages unlocks the BV ninja uniform as buyable, or it unlocks it and replaces it with black, along with, presumably, the NPC ninja's uniform?  That part is not clear.
19  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Ninjas Wear Black, Dammit! on: 2008 November 25, 15:22:43
I did that for myself a while ago.  It looks great as workout wear, especially during Tai Chi.

It was actually during the making of ninja uniforms into athletic wear to use for Tai Chi that I realized there was no black.  Previously I had never used them.

I thought about doing the ninja hat/hair/head wrap too, and assign both to all my eastern locals, but I decided it was too much work.

Cloning EAxis masks sucks.  Plus, it creates useless duplicates of non-masked EAxis hair used for sleeping, showering, etc., that you already have in your bin.  Plus, the whole gray hair thing is just unacceptable.  You make masks for each hair color and you end up with four identical ones in the gray custom bin, plus four copies of the gray non-masked hairs.  All, of course, not only the gray, marked custom unless the color binning is manually fixed.  I simply do not have enough interest or patience to sort all of that out.  Stupid EAxis.

I did make some black masks.  They have many of the problems I mentioned, save they are color-binned.  If enough people really wanted them I could possibly share them, but I don't think they are necessary, and they are definitely annoying, at least to me.  Whatever the case, they do not seem worth the disk space required to have them all.  If you really want a mask, I think the gray mask is acceptable.  Not good, but acceptable.  Also, If anyone knows how to fix the mask issues easily and wants to do it, I could provide them for modification.  I am just not that concerned, myself.
20  TS2: Burnination / Planet K 20X6 / Re: Stick a house on this lot! Challenge on: 2008 November 24, 15:31:47
That and .. 6x6? WTF? I build cities on that space. 6x6 is not useable except for a few people with dedicated gaming rigs (and a lot of patience).

I can use a 6x6 lot, do not have a lot of patience, and do not have what would be considered a dedicated gaming rig.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game won't start on: 2008 November 21, 21:58:45
Now this sounds like an interesting religion. Details?  I might want to be an acolyte.

The Sacred Order and Temple of What Might Eventually Be Beyond Mere Hot Pants is always ready to accept new members into the fold.

It is a simple thing, really.  All members strive for certain enlightenment.  This divinely inspired illumination is only realized through meditation and contemplation of the sacred mysteries revealed through the hot pants.  The secret mysteries expose unto the properly educated initiate the inescapable and ineffable truth of all things concealed in nature by the power and enigma of hot pants.

Cult Church members work to advance the cause of the temple, hopefully by bringing in many suitable, nubile candidates (male or female) that are adequately and quite righteously attired in proper hot pants.  This is a key component of the movement, you see, because for many people, these sublime mysteries as I have already promised can simply never be understood. (Along with most other, more ordinary things.) These unfortunates can still do their part for the rest of us by competently exhibiting the holy symbol of our cause, thereby allowing the rest of us ready focus for contemplation and transcendence beyond the base, mundane, material concerns shrouded by the mysteries.

You see here I have already revealed to you some of what might be considered hearsay you may not understand.

Hopefully, if you are interested, you might show more aptitude at recruiting than other members.  Everyone wants to join, of course, but no one wants to wear the sacred hot pants, or bring in new members with the proper qualities to wear them. (By qualities it is meant no otherwise obvious useful ones)  This is causing an unacceptable obstruction to the attainment of righteous, transcendent glory.  Naturally, if you just want to model the hot pants, that is always acceptable.

There is nothing uptight about this religion, except the uniform!
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game won't start on: 2008 November 21, 17:20:26
It gets corrupted, just like Khan hoped you would be by putting on his Khan-Pants Cheesy

Oh, gruesome death to multitudinous types of enigmatic Emmas!  It is not corruption, it is called *redemption*, and the path to *salvation*!  For some, at least, who are worthy, and who have not been abusing cheesecake.
23  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Ninjas Wear Black, Dammit! on: 2008 November 20, 18:14:08
Default replacements?

No, just recolor.

Plus, I should perhaps point out, I enabled this uniform for all occasions.  Ever seen a ninja in a winter coat?  I think not.  Ninjas work out in uniform?  Of course.  If you do not like this, feel free to adjust it yourself.  Wardrobe Wrangler works great, or just extract, redo, and then delete the originals.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Game won't start on: 2008 November 20, 05:08:39
First, you must put on these:

Then, go into your My Documents>EA Games>The Sims 2 folder and delete the file named 'groups.cache'.  Run game.
25  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Ninjas Wear Black, Dammit! on: 2008 November 19, 21:38:09
Something simple, just because I thought I needed to do it, and I thought perhaps others here might want it.  There really is nothing to this, I finally added BV recently and realized that I just could not abide by not having a black ninja outfit.  This is the simplest of recolors, just the outfit dark enough to be considered black, yet still light enough to show the detail of the folds and such and not make a flat black void on the computer screen.  There is no mask recolor.  The original gray mask is darker than the uniform, so it does not really look too bad with the black outfit.

Download only the 'ninjablackgrownups' if you have the EAxis ninja outfits (from OFB?) in game already and want the black recolors for adults and elders.  There are no meshes included.  Download the 'ninjablackteens' only if you should have the conversion meshes by Cocomama available here:
