Props to Pescado and all hes done. But.
Pescado couldn't fully program Sims 3 or any of the Expansions. All he does is mod something already made. Don't be so quick to bash EA.
It's also possible you could not accommodate a largish-sized watermelon in your asshole, but I suspect more than one've found their way up there all the same. I thought you put watermelons in your HEAD. Now I am all confused. In this case, I don't think the two conflict.

It annoys me how my sim will walk, then take the subway, then take a taxi just to get to one location.
It's the fastest way. People in real life do it, too. In my experience the subway/taxi routing and decisions are actually pretty good.
Typically, a city with public transportation will have decent coverage for all areas. Typically, a person who is taking public transportation will only do public trans/walking for that trip. Why? Because cabs cost a fuckload. If you are already going to drop a fuckload on a cab, you might as well take the cab the whole way and not run the risk of having a book thrown at you by someone who thinks you stepped on their foot*. Sims routing doesn't follow human rules. A person in real life with a working car wouldn't take a cab to the grocery store. *True story, though I was only an observer.

Just normal fog, no options. I put a crapload in, though. There are perhaps 15 fog emitters along the coast (in the water) and ten or so on land in that lower section, which is going to be the lower-income section. I'm still finishing the mid-to-high income sections around downtown and the one cul-de-sac, then have the more rural homes to do before I get to that portion. The fog doesn't work as well as I had wanted it to. That coast is awfully close to the end of the world, as it is, and I wanted the fog to make the lighthouse appear to be further out than it is since I couldn't place it back where I wanted. It still looks like it is where it is, but I guess the fog gives it purpose.

The game doesn't know how to handle too many sims, so you're likely not going to find a world populated with so many that you "meet someone new every night". And places are deserted at night because that's how the game is set up, sims go to bed at night and there's no lots that are set to be populated in particular at night. A custom world won't change that.
So if I put down a ton of really tiny houses and say populated them with AM or just dumped the max limit of sims inside each one would my game explode into a bfbvfs? It'll get slow and skippy. When this happens depends on your system, and most likely how much cc you use. I use a shitload. I'm perfectly safe at around 140 sims, so I set AM to a limit of 120.

Unconventional lot sizes stop you from being a lazy ass and downloading creepy-doll infested lots off the Exchange.
Looking at the photos, I mostly see the sidewalk-encased lots in the downtown area, where you would expect to see that sort of thing. Of course, I haven't downloaded it and I'm only going off photos, but I see many large lots (or fucking ginormous wastes of space to me) with no sidewalk around. As for downtown, it's definitely not to my taste (I'd be sledgehammering the whole section), but seems similar to the default 'hoods. It's certainly not a glorified square like that one creature churns out weekly.
I'd tell you to just go create your own world because you'll find ample opportunity to bitch about anything non-EA and, despite your brother-fucking obsessions, you actually do have some laudable creative skills. But, we know how scary CAW is for you, with it being all system-intensive and stuff.
*Any extra bitchiness can be explained by frustration from spending the last 20 minutes trying to make a driveway on a smooth 35 degree decline with the piece of crap excuse for terrain elevation tools we have in-game. Also, see: Shouty Vole.

My ATI is happy with CAW untill i hit that crappy "edit in game" button and I've found the best solution. I do not use "edit in game" mode anymore. I just export my world and build lots in game.
Since saving takes 50 million years in EiG, you are much better off doing just that: exporting, building in regular game, saving to library, and then plopping them all in one go in EiG.

If you are deadset against travel, there are several mods on MTS that will still allow you to access a lot of the "foreign destination only" content without leaving your neighborhood. I've had WA installed since it came out, and I have yet to see a mummy pop up in my home neighborhood.
There really is no need for mods past Awesomemod to get this. All WA objects, spawners, and plants, even those only present in the foreign 'hoods, are available for purchase in either community lot build mode or in regular buy mode/debug tab. For all I know, this could be available with Awesomemod, but you'll rip that thing from my cold, dead hands. I very rarely take a sim on vacation. Really, the only time they go is if they roll an adventurer want (I wait until they hit YA stage to give them a LTW, and then roll for which one they are given. Otherwise they all end up wanting to be illustrious authors). But the WA objects make beautiful additions to museums and household decor, plus there are several community lot/hood decor objects that fit in well with my 'hoods. Good plants, too.

Doesn't the game update on its own when you install the newest game, anyway? Like it did with all the previous EPs/SPs? Why do you patch before installing Fast Lane? Only if you are letting it connect with the 'net, which many of us don't for various reasons.

I have a name for my vehicle. I call it 'car'. No kidding. I've been a car enthusiast my whole life, to the point of being involved in various basic grassroots-level racing, but I've never understood the desire to give a vehicle a name. My cars had names: Vampmobile (after my HS nickname), Shitmobile (piece of shit car that broke down on me constantly), and Sexmobile (for "Sexy Beast", a crappy movie that I loved the title of). However, I've never formed a friendship with a car. That's beyond lame.

Isn't it odd that there's a thread called "Pudding Factory is for downloads: put your lame requests & WCIFs here"? I wonder what that's for. Certainly not for speshul snowflakes like yourself.

You like your lots much smaller then I do. TINY. My community garden is 6x6, but it has at least one of each plant in perfect state. Current WIP will have bigger lots because most should have some sort of garden area, but there will be some tiny. I cannot live without my tiny. As for Bottle-o-cunt, the more you post, the more I'm convinced you are a Paden sock.
