The LTW variety hack and JM's Uni-unlock one seem to be completely compatible, though. I have both, and I'm getting loads of variety and ...just once so far...Uni-wants.

The term is 'borke' no matter what the Urban Dictionary says. I did not say I coined it, I said I discovered it (here, at least). And it was the result of an otherwise intelligent human being having fingers that move at a different speed to his brain. My comment was a joke intended to point out that the use of lazy language at this point was clearly a put-on. Chill And I was just being argumenative for the sake of being a pain in the nether regions~!

To me, the windows look like windkeeper's Ooh. Those do look nice. I'm guessing, since there's two of you raving about her windows, that there's no light problems with these? I've been a little leery of custom windows since a bunch I downloaded pretty much didn't let any light into the house. They were gorgeous and all kinds of funky, but they didn't let any light in. No problems at all with lighting. Also, her sets include the needed meshes for putting them on the diagonal. Zazazu: I hadn't checked back recently to see the addition to the waterfront series- I only had the original set and the doors. (Nooooo- need the Long Island door set too. Must resist...) My downloads folder is not going to thank you. Yes, I recently trashed my window & door custom content from anything but her items. La Fenetre, Waterfront, Belangie, and Helios are my staple windows and doors. I use the Long Island doors a bit, but not as much. Her plastic flowers and bushes are great as well, until you take the plunge and get the TwoJeff's "perfectplants" hack. It's a shame she's so loyal to TSR.

despite me always wondering why people wanted fat sims in their games... Why do people want any sort of custom content in their game? Besides, the "fat" version in the game is hardly fat, just a bigger belly. I haven't seen a fat mesh I've liked yet. Overall, they are too fat for me, and the hands sink into the hip area. Also, if you are going to go realistic, they need rolls. Speaking as an admittedly fat girl myself, the Maxis female fat is littler than I, but the fat meshes I've seen are much bigger than I am (and don't have large enough breasts). So I can't buy any sim I make of me.

I agree that they are slow, but you can't really complain when it's free. *shrug*
You either pay, maintain your morals, but wait until you have the money to pay....or....you get them there, wait 10 years to download them, sully your morals a bit, and play now. It's up to you.
Note to my own morality: I paid for mine and would never pirate an actual charge-for-use game. Ones that have gone free to promote later games like Oddworld: Abe's Exodus, which I also had purchased when I was a little one but trashed years ago, fine. Booty-diving, fine, as to me paysites are clearly against Maxis/EA's EULA. However...you want to pirate it, that's your deal. I'm not calling the cops.

My downloads folder is less than one gig, and even then, I kind of need to go back and start trimming stuff. I downloaded a lot of decoration objects when I was first starting out, and now those items seem worthless. (How many bathroom clutters do I need? ) Perhaps I am a picky person, and also the kind that doesn't really like navigating sites unless I am looking for something specific. Right now, I am searching for decent clothes. Now THAT I actually use. Mangosims2 ( http://mangosims2.free.fr/) is truly evil in that regard. Every set is chock full of decorative objects, and it can be next to impossible to know which are which until you find some random object six months ago (even if you do know a fair bit of French). How many empty vases do I need? Do I trully need a whole bunch of different sized sticks?

LOLz peece!
There is a serious grammatical error in this sentence. The use of the term 'borke' in the midst of the lazy language is a contradiction, because 'borke is a MATY term (I should know, I discovered it ), and MATY-ites do not use lazy language. I applaud your effort, but "bork" is not a MATY-only term. It's been recognized since at least 2001 according to the urban dictionary. (See: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bork). I feel your pain, though. I recently "made up" the title Sprog for my favorite 2nd cousin which tickled the crap out of her, only to find that it's been around since the beginning of time. Edit: I still maintain that I coined the term "gank", as I started using it back in 1993, and hadn't heard it anywhere before.

Well, as a workaround I suppose you could try building a wall around your house that's at least one level higher than the house's highest part, roof it over with invisible roof tiles and then delete the wall. (Come to think of it, will unsupported tiles like that keep out the snow and rain, or do there have to be walls as well?)
There have to be walls. I have weather coming into a community lot top-floor restaurant despite their being "overhangs" (three walls, floor tile roof).

As a side note, I've fallen in love with this site: http://www.architecturalhouseplans.com/ The floor plans are awesome inspirations to try and convert into something useable in the sims. I recently put together a 'cabin' that I'm pretty proud of. Thanks for the link! Houses that I build are usually boring, mildly sucky boxes, so I spent most of last night building one of their bigger houses. (My housemate laughed at me, I had the floorplan open on my laptop next to me while I built on the desktop.) I had to get the hang of the constrainfloorelevation cheat to get it right, but I did and it's the best-looking house in my neighbourhood. I'm still decorating so I haven't played it yet, but it can hardly be less functional than a Maxis house and it has an awful lot more room. Yeah, that site is great. Really helped to design an unusual home for the big freaking family I'm apparently having next (grr LTW roll madness). Tip: Take a couple random screenshots in-game (one for each floor). I just took photos of the pre-construction lot for ease of locating. Then Alt-Tab to the desktop and open your image editor of choice. Copy the floorplan pics from the website and paste them on top of the screenshots you just took. Merge your layers and resave. Alt-Tab back into the game and viola! Pics of the floor plan are now available in-game, saving you endless Alt-Tab'ing and/or paper. Adapted from this houseplan: http://www.architecturalhouseplans.com/home_plans/231

This is the default behaviour for Riverblossom Hills (and it's mentioned in the Seasons manual). Your neighbourhoods should start with all four.
What, me read?? S'okay. Why Maxis chose to make the new neighborhood that shipped with the game anything other than the "normal" four seasons is beyond me. It's caused no end of confusion and loads of whiny freaked out brats on the BBS. Of course, they also made a borked family whose twin's parents are either two women or a woman and a dog dependant on where you drop them, so I guess it's not surprising.

2x2 or SMALLER? Yep, I have a small assortment of 1x1 lots on my website. Even my super rich sims hardly get anything bigger than a 3x3 lot...if they're really lucky. I can't stand basements in this game. Talk about a waste of building time. They are hardly playable and look like garbage. Anything bigger than a 2x3 is a waste of space to me. You're going to want a second floor, anyways, if you have a big enough family to warrant the space. My current family started on a 1x2 lot which was absolutely perfect for two cats, two adults, and 2 kids. They even had a sizable flower garden and a small pool. Now, stupid progeny/heir&spouse want 6 grandkids and 6 kids respectively. I move the family each time the youngest generation becomes adults, so I'll have to do a 2x2 and I'm not pleased.

A regular flat floor should work. I've used that fix on a few of my lots, plus I'm rather fond of flat roofs. Are you making sure to put wall-to-wall-to-wall-to-wall floor tiles in between? Even one missed tile can wreak havoc.

I very very rarely use a downloaded home and haven't used the Maxis homes since the vanilla game, so house design is my forte. Just getting "decent" at yards.
Staples: 1. Yoga/workout room. On a larger lot, I'll usually place this in a separate structure with wall-to-wall windows. Since Seasons, I commonly add crops to the room, or a nice fruit tree smack in the middle. Add a chaise and a small shower closet for those post-workout stinks, and you're done.
2. Aspiration reward room. When I bother with them at all, that is. The bookcase goes in the livingroom, but everything else I typically arrange in either the basement or an attic.
3. Bathrooms. 1 every 2 sims on the lot, excepting pets. My kitties don't use the toilet so neither do my sims' kitties. That ratio usually allows for any morning hygeine needs without making anyone late or pissy.
Things I don't do: 1. Garages. If I have a car, I make a carport. I got an aversion to the garage doors before I knew a hack was available to keep sims from trying to enter through the garage, and haven't gotten over it. Plus, I rarely have cars on my lots despite the plethora of custom ones I could have.
2. Pets room. One exception was a challenge I did at TSR that required someone to have 10 pet friends. Other than her wolf buddy, she had two cats who went to town, ending in 9 cats in the house. Believe me, they needed their own room for the three litter boxes, two pet beds, 2 cat towers, and four food bowls. Plus, I was trying to keep them out from underfoot. Normally, I put the food bowl in the kitchen and the toy/scratch tower in the living room, beds in the kids' bedrooms. Otherwise, when you have two or more pets, they tend to keep to the same room and don't interact with the sims as much.
3. Huge spalike bathrooms. Why? Pee, wipe your butt, take a shower, and get on with your life. You are a sim. You don't even have to think for yourself because the Oversoul does it for you (and you bork it up when you do), so what kind of stress do you need to get away from?

When the wolf comes. ignore it. it'll nibble when it wants attention. (it's a wolf interaction, not a pc-controlled one)
Should I greet it first, or ignore it totally? Greet it. I'd turn off autonomy on your sims as well to provide maximum nibbly opportunities.

Kept getting the error as well. It seemed to happen less when I deleted small groups. Program works great, but I'm now having an issue with my game not starting. I double click the icon, get a tiny blank error window with a red X button and that's it. I'm not sure it has anything to do with Delphy's utility because I tried taking out the downloads folder and it still happened. Plus, that's not the point at which it loads the custom content anyways. I vaguely remember this happening before, but it's been awhile.
Prolly that nasty EA Link. The thing borks sometimes.
Edit: Dun dun dun dun. Stupid Zaza, just had to delete the cigen and groups caches. Everything is lovely with the world again, and I'm 602 orphaned files lighter.

I have used "Move Objects On" to place multiple items on a display counter AND/OR the items placed for sale were custom items. That was my theory at one point, but i've never used move objects to place things on a shelf... i figured if i had to cheat to get the object on the shelf then the sim would need to cheat to restock it... I don't play businesses a lot, but I had this happen with cleanbots placed on the floor. One would display the restock sign in the right place, the other was in the corner of the back yard. However, there was shelving behind it. Maybe it's just that the rear has to be accessible for some illogical reason?

Until/unless they fix this, don't visit either P.U.R.E. or Lulu Lounge. Both have unprotected hot tubs (4 in P.U.R.E.'s case). Visitors to community lots seem to be immune to both hot tub overheating and exercise overheating, which is good. One of my favorite custom lots has six hot tubs and a few treadmills.

I'd almost take the sheep bleat for this one. I see it also does the opposite...ID'ing orphan recolors. Considering the horror that my clothing catalogs are in, this is much appreciated. I just binned and cleaned approximately 70 hair styles and wasn't looking forward to sorting through all my clothing files.
