TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: BV: Anybody Updating These Abandoned Mods?

There have been many reports about the room service not working. The bell hop pulls out the food from under the desk and it vanishes into thin air. I have this problem too. It seems to work maybe the first time you arrive in a hotel but then stop working after that. I have used All In One in the past, but I took it out before I installed BV. Room service worked fine at first and now does not and I do not have All in One in my folder. So I am not convinced that All in One is the culprit here. On other boards, that is a lot of discussion about this and I do not believe all of those posters use All in One.
I'm having this problem, although it's intermittent (and I can't seem to nail down the exact steps to recreate it each time). For the record, I DO NOT have All in One, so I think it's something else as well. Where, exactly, have you seen this discussed? I haven't been able to find much (although I admit the BBS scares the crap outta me with all their twaddle, "help me name a pet PLEASE !!ONE11"). Hmmmm maybe thats a good thing to hear then.

As for the all-in-one not working with room service, it's worse than not working, it actually breaks it. I was trying to find the culpret, and all-in-one was my first choice to remove, and it didn't fix it-- I then removed every hack one by one till the last hack standing didn't make any sence that it was the bad one--so I ran it CC free and it still didn't work. I had to go to another unplayed neighborhood to confirm that all-in-one was the hack that I was looking for. That is pretty risking to allow a function to be broken--especially if you put a lot of time into your neighborhood . Who knows what else it might be doing.
Ugh that sucks... don't want to deal with useless maids. Hopefully someone will fix it or create something like it. btw, how good is that DMA package?

here's my short list of abandoned hacks i hope to see updated for BV:
alwayswearcasualtowork FirstKissEnabled SitFloorToWatchTV (i think i saw somewhere that this doesn't conflict with bv) PregnancyWearAnyOutfit woohoonaked
Christianlov_SimBoutique_ClothingRack (it's worked with each ep, just doesn't have the new clothing options, ie "outdoors")
jaxad0127_NoNPCRevert (has worked up to seasons, so maybe bv too, but wtf do i know? nuthin'!) jaxad0127_NoNudeReact_WithStreaking
I noticed the jaxad no nude react doesn't work with Seasons. They still shreak, especially funny in a dorm when you can hear them yell from across the lot.

Drat , well I will hold on to allinone as long as it causes no further issues. The hotel food sucks anyway. Best to use boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false , that at the least gives me the buy menu. Plop down a grill and I am set for food needs. Though to be honest, with macrotastics, one can caffinate up and get off the hotel lot much easier than it is to meander to your room and eat (even eating hotdogs).
I have not cleaned out my hack folder, cept for those mentioned to cause serious crashes. I even have obj Insim going. I only use it to change turn on/offs.
-is bummed over the semi breakage of allinone-
I'm hoping someone finds a way to fix that. BTW what causes a breakage? conflicting bhav instance ids?

I'm wondering about hacks by christianlov
I'd be very thankful if someone could check
Christianlov_GlobalHackEp4_PetBirthWantSatisfy Christianlov_GlobalHackEp4_PetFoodNoDecreaseDirty Christianlov_LearnBehaviorCommandTool Christianlov_PetCollarAtHome
I've got the PetCollarAtHome, PetBirthWantSatisfy, and LearnBehaviorCommandTool, and hackdiff didn't flag any of them, so at least in theory they should work fine. How about the all-in-one npc and custom skintone? Don't think I'd want to live without those two LOL I have all-in-one and I noticed that when I was on vacation if I ordered room service they would say they where going to bring it but the desk clerk would pull it out from under the counter and then it would just dissappear and never get to my room. I took out the all-in-one and the insimenator and the problem was solved but I'm not sure which one it was, I'm assuming the all in one because of the food relation. Oh yuck.... I'll have to investigate it down the road when I get BV. all-in-one is the best way for maid/butlers and throwing away those crappy dorm cooks.

They have beefed up their copy protection. They are using secu-rom now. I have d-tools set up to emulate securom.
Oh god not the same securom as in Bioshock?

Jordi, you've got widescreen correct? Have you managed to make the CAS appear correctly? On mine the properties tab (the right side panel) is stuck right in the middle of the screen covering up nearly half of the sim.

By default, location has zero influence on walkbys, and walkbys are not predisposed towards being only in places they live, within the following rules: YAs are never walkbys outside of Uni, NPCs are never walkbys on residential lots, and downtownies never visit any non-downtown lot. Everyone else arbitrarily traipses all over the place without regard for locality or interest.
Ahh ok, I noticed that, thats whats why I was worried. In that case, I can go ahead and move sims around then. Make my hoods look more higher scale with more space between lots filled with trees and beautification then. Also help on the poor video card too. *Happy Camper*

What are the chances the nonlocals (those in subhoods) will walkby on the main hood or other subhoods? I know they visit community lots, I get professors there. I know Pescado has a hack to prevent it, but I want the exact opposite. I'd like to eventually spread my lots out instead of everyone squished into one hood.

I could swear I've had it happen to a few other apps, but I'm guessing most of them were due to video driver issues. Oh ya, I was just playing wheel of time earlier this week, got in the mood for it, occasional when you'd launch it, it'd just stall out launching and I'd just reset the computer.
I've updated the bios and disabled uac. I thought I had fixed it, but it reared its ugly head again. Jmicron controller (for the sata/ide/raid controlller) seems to be problematic for vista, although I haven't found any other similar problems with google. I should see if it works better in 64bit version, but I highly doubt it.
btw, it's a ASUS P5B-Deluxe.

Has anyone had problems with Sims and Vista? When I take a screenshot the hard drive lights up, the sound studders and eventually quits. About a minute latter the sound comes back and things slowly get back to normal. Second time if I take a screenshot it's usually goes without a hitch. Although if it still hiccups I might as well quit and restart the computer. If I forget to take a snapshot, and save... I might as well go for a walk.
My guess is drivers, even after updating and replacing the drive with a new SATA drive, still hiccuping bad. I would like to eliminate the possibility of a game problem.

Ok at this point I'm going to need your help. I want to expand the number of sizes available, but looking at the package entries I have no idea what all goes with what. Correct me if I'm wrong. This much I do know: - the GMDC contains the meshes, specifically ansoftcock-crammyboy_tslocator_gmdc. This appears to be the "mesh group" with individual entries inside it. This is where I would add new mesh entries.
- The TXTR contains the textures, each texture gets a unique entry. By default it appears cockcrammyboysoft0_txtr is the default texture. Rest are recolors.
- Pie menu Strings contains the actually messages to the user. I'll have to add entries for different sizes, no biggie.
- The Pie menu functions link the strings to the actualy functions. I'll have to first add bhavs and link them here with the strings.
- OBJf, OBJD, Name Ref doesn't look like I need to touch.
- GMND Gemotric node only references the GMDC's group so doesn't look like I need to edit that.
- I know i'll be doing quite a bit of work in the BHAVS.
- BCON
Things I'm not exactly sure of: - In STR# Material Names are the names for the textures and ID #.
- Mesh Group Names appears to contain the names and # for the meshes (0 cock, 1 hair, 2 cock_uncut...etc). This MIGHT be related to the BHAVS, code selects 0 to display cock. 1 to display hair....etc, not sure. I imagine I'll have to add new entries for arroused and hard (9 and 10).
- attribute labels, does this give variables names? Instead of having to use '2' you can use 'Sims skin color'. I imagine I'll have to add an extra entry for leaning (left/center/right) eventually.
First thing I don't know... - What are cn, en and ef softcock-crammyboy_tslocator_gmdc for? Could they be remenants of earlier works?
- What is Shape? I see theres some connetions to the GMDC and GMND. What would I need to alter in here?
- Also what is Resource Node?
Sorry about the million and half questions and I'm sure theres more to come.
