I got it working by following the instructions here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=17610.0

I'm not sure which part helped, but I'm sure glad it did! I hope this helps someone else!

That's a great torrent and I appreciate the link, but I'd like to avoid having to download the whole game again and reinstalling it.

I did a search on my Electronic Arts folder and noticed that Sunset Valley, China, France, and Egypt all have a ***.objectCache file (Eg. China.objectCache) except Riverview. Could someone please send me their Riverview.objectCache file from their program folder, so that I can try using it and avoid the whole reinstall process?

I've been over this thread several times and the instructions included in that torrent link above. I don't know what else to try.  Undecided

I'm having a problem with Riverview in HELS version 3.2.8. Sims 3 and WA are also updated. I copied the Riverview.world file to my GameData/Shared/NonPacked/Worlds folder next to Sunset Valley.world. It is not installed in any other folder. In game, there is no description for the town and all of the houses are named incorrectly. Pictures follow:  http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q130/Lyrishima/Riverview_error2.png

EDIT: I'm not having any problem viewing the dbc content or using AwesomeMod.

I think we were both confused.  Grin

You only have to use a clone if you want to use the looks of a sim that isn't already in the neighborhood of your Patient sim. The export plugin just takes their genetics, clothing, and makeup, and saves a copy of the sim in the sim bin for you. It seems like a good way to take your favorite spawn and start their lives over in a new neighborhood.
6  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 April 27, 13:26:12
So you do infact need an extra Bella (archetype) in Strangetown  Huh Than the plugin doesn't work, its purpose is to avoid having dummy sims in neighborhoods. Oh well...

As it turns out, your Bella was already the Pleasantview one, so I didn't need the surgery. I just assumed that she would be the Strangetown Bella since that is the one that is already alive in the game, but I really just wasted my time.

You don't need to keep two Bellas. I just need the Bella that's already in Strangetown and the Pleasantview Bella to copy genetics from. After that, I should be able to dispose of the copy of Pleasantview Bella, right? She is just a body shop sim, hasn't moved into a household, and hasn't met anyone. The plugin extracted her correctly and can perform surgery, as long as the Patient sim and the Archetype sim are in the Sim Browser list. I don't see how the plugin could avoid this, since she has to be in the body shop bin to be editable in SimPE. If she's not in the bin or the neighborhood, then she can't be accessed in the sim browser. It's been that way as far back as I can remember. I like the export plugin! That's a nice addition. I don't understand why Pescado was complaining about it. He is obviously more awesome than me, so it might be safer to take his word for it.

Thanks! I'll just Delete 2 the ones I don't want then. I don't see any reason to go through all the trouble of joining a neighborhood, if I'm going to end up with more problems. I don't have enough knowledge to think I can clean it any better than you have. I'd probably drive myself crazy trying to make everything perfect.

The sims surgery tool works just fine and I have all expansions and stuff packs. Maybe it isn't outdated, after all. It's really easy to do if you care. There's not that much difference in her appearance. I just don't like her to look like other default sims. You just load the neighborhood that contains the Bella sim you wish to use. The Pleasantview Bella looks a bit different, while the Strangetown Bella has a default face.
1)  Open SimPE
2)  Load Pleasantview using the Neighborhood Browser.
3)  Go to the Tools menu and select Sim Surgery.
4)  Make sure the Uneditable box is checked, so that Bella is in the list. Pleasantview Bella is an uneditable sim apparently.
5)  Select Bella Goth from the list and load her into the Patient Sim box.
6)  Click Export at the top of the dialog box and save Bella Goth into the SavedSims folder by default.
7)  Start Sims 2.
Cool  Load the neighborhood which contains the Bella Goth that you want to change.
9)  Go to Create Family and choose the cloned Bella Goth from the sim bin. It would be a good idea to name her something different so that you can tell them apart in SimPE. For example, I named my clone "Bella_face Goth".
10) You can leave her in the family bin and close the game.
11) Load your Bella neighborhood in SimPE.
12) Open the sim surgery plugin again.
13) Load Bella Goth as the Patient Sim and check Face only. The makeup and eyes are already the same. (I don't know if it is just a coincidence, but my test Bella had eyes that kept spinning upward every couple of seconds in game after I used the surgery plugin on her with both Face and Eyes options checked.)
14) Load Bella_face Goth as your archetype sim and hit [Surgery].
I think anyone can manage this if desired. The Pleasantview Bella looks similar to Cassandra. I don't know why they gave her a default face in Strangetown...
It appeared as if your Bella Goth already had the Pleasantview face, but the pictures in SimPE are small so I may be wrong. Did you resurrect the Pleasantview Bella, or did you put her in the family bin from the Strangetown townie pool? I was already in SimPE and ready to do the surgery and was too lazy to load the game and see if they already looked the same.

If you haven't noticed, I am a perfectionist...It's equally (or more) annoying to me! I hope I didn't seem ungrateful! Thank you so much for sharing your hard work and taking time to answer questions!

Okay. I have to get these kids to bed, but I plan to do this tomorrow. I went into SimPE and extracted the Pleasantview Bella with the sim surgery plugin. It went into the SavedSims folder just as it is supposed to and, theoretically, it should work.

I plan on making my own combined neighborhood, because I don't like Strangetown, Veronaville, Bella, or any other stray sims caused by deleting the neighborhoods. Has anyone shared any problems that need cleaned up in Pleasantview? I know Strangetown was pretty bad, but I'm probably only going to clean Pleasantview and use other's templates for my neighborhood. No sense in doing all that work again!

If you could warn me of any potential problems in Pleasantview, it would be most appreciated. Of course, I don't expect you to do it for me, so don't go to any trouble if you don't already have a list. I just thought you might have kept a record of changes.

Thanks! I'll try Bella tomorrow and share her if it works.
9  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 April 25, 01:52:51
Good thing I didn't delete anyone.  Shocked  Thanks, guys.

I'm busy this weekend, but I'll let you know how it goes with Bella's surgery. I was under the impression that the sims had to be in the same neighborhood in order to use the sim surgery plugin. Maybe I overlooked something...It's been a long time.
10  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Clean and fixed Uber-Megahood! FINISHED! on: 2009 April 24, 22:03:56
Could you please explain to me how I can get rid of Bella Goth from Pleasantview without ruining any memories in your Uber-Megahood? I want to have Dina marry Mortimer before he dies and I noticed he is still married to Bella. I like keeping to Bella's story of disappearance. Can I just delete her, or do I need to fix some memories in SimPE? I have deleted Strangetown from the megahood, because I like to play that separately.

This doesn't have anything to do with your 'hood, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make the Strangetown Bella have the same facial DNA as the Pleasantview Bella. (She just looks so generic in Strangetown.) As I said, my Pleasantview 'hood and Strangetown hood are separate.

Thanks in advance for any help!
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Playing AL without apartments: witches enough? on: 2008 September 30, 13:23:05
The witches are fun, but seem to take a bit too much devotion for casual use. There is a hack to cast without reagents, though. Making the reagents is a bit tedious after a while, but you can also just buy them if you have the simoleons.
Even if there weren't witches, I would definitely still get the EP. No question. There are a ton of small features that add up to a really great expansion. Moving pictures up and down, potrait automatically changing when you change outfit, the new skills to research, playground equipment, etc. And remember, apartments come in REAL handy when you move a sim out into the family bin and he doesn't have enough simoleons to buy a house.
Despite a few complaints (*cough* no beach apartments*cough*), I am definitely satisfied with this EP...and I've barely fooled around with witches yet.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Newspaper Delivery on: 2008 September 30, 00:36:40
if you have AL, you must have a foundation under your stairs when your house is on a foundation.

You don't need to have a foundation under your stairs. What you need is space next to the door (on the same level) for the newspaper girl/boy to put the newspaper on. It doesn't matter if the floor tile in question is supported by a foundation or not, at least not on the lots in my game.

Yes, I did only have one stair hanging from my door. Thanks all for clearing that up!
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Newspaper Delivery on: 2008 September 29, 14:16:45
Wow, that was fast. Thank you for responding, but I figured out my problem. I started building my legacy house on a foundation, but I didn't have enough money to build my portico (porch). So, there was no foundation underneath the stairs leading to my front door. After posting, I made my porch and the newspaper was delivered beside the door. This is a feature added in AL, and I hadn't considered it being a problem.
To anyone searching this phenomenon... if you have AL, you must have a foundation under your stairs when your house is on a foundation.

Yes, playing this game without hacks is really annoying at times. I am a MATY addict and always put these hacks first. I usually never play without them, but wanted to make a fair score for the challenge. The only reason I installed the hacks I did was to avoid errors and exploit. My first attempt without ANY hacks was short-lived. I started getting multiple sim errors, before I even made it through Uni. I also got the mega skill bug and was having to Force Error my sim after every Work Out, to avoid it.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Newspaper Delivery on: 2008 September 29, 12:55:15
Would anyone know why my newspaper is being delivered to the corner of my lot?
I am currently playing a custom neighborhood, on a 5x5 lot, for the Legacy Challenge. The only hacks I have installed are afhairmediumcenterpart.package, alfixes.package, antiredundancy.package, and comm-skilling.package.
I have all expansions installed and patched. I also have all stuff packs except Holiday, if that matters. I did a full reinstall before playing, so all expansions were installed, in order, and patched with the most recent patch.
I can intereact with the newspaper just fine, and am having no errors. It's just a waste of time to walk halfway across a 5x5 lot every day to recycle the paper.
Thanks in advance!

I like most of Spookymuffin's defaults. They are the most unique that I've seen. There are a few that I replace from other sets, but I can't remember which ones. I'm sure there will be a few unique faces for you in the set.

Wow, Lord Darcy is commited! Thanks a lot for your dedication.

I haven't installed the FT patch yet, and I was wondering if the fixes are included in IKEA stuff. If not, should I install it before or after the patch?
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Skin Problem.. HELP! on: 2008 May 30, 12:53:38
I had the black skin and newspaper hair on my sims after installing HystericalParoxysm's Idolatry of Flesh defaults. The defaults don't work properly unless you also install the standard skins. She has information about that on her site. Here's the link: http://www.demusedsims.com/idolatryofflesh.html
Scroll down and you'll see it in known issues. Don't panic! All you have to do is get the original skins or remove the defaults, if this is your problem. I don't know what to tell you about disappearing downloads...Hope this helps.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims can't cook on: 2008 March 29, 03:54:34
It looks like different hacks are causing the problems for different players. I blame EAxis! We are clearly the victims of bad programming!  Roll Eyes
I played a different household and got the errors again for different hobbies...Gonna try Bangelnuts' method. It's worth a shot. I read a post of another player only loading their game partially, and then deciding to close it and reload with all CC installed again before the neighborhood had loaded. He apparently started gaining enthusiasm again without errors.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims can't cook on: 2008 March 28, 19:01:45
I have all expansions and stuff packs through Free Time and am running on a fresh install, fully patched. I just downloaded all my mods last night, so they are the most recent ones. Now that that is out of the way...on to the details!

I was receiving this error every time an action ended that required enthusiasm gain. The errors I experienced were after cooking, playing catch, dancing together and playing piano. I googled the error and was led to the other thread mentioned previously. Removing  interestlosshack.package did not fix the error. So begins the long, tedious process of locating my problem file.

Since this site was accused for the error twice, I first tried removing my MATY hack folder. This did fix the problem, but since these hacks are awesome, I assumed there was a conflict with one of them from another non-awesome hack. As always, I had used simwardrobe's hack scan before loading the game. Since I remembered the teen pregnancy hack from sims2living.com had multiple errors, and I had never tried the hack before, that is where I began my search. Sure enough, I still got the errors with only Teen Pregnancy and MATY hack folders installed. I ran hack scan again with only these two folders installed. Amongst the multiple errors, I noticed that asprechargetweak.package was shown as a possible conflict. Remembering that this file also showed conflict with the InTeenimator, I decided to load the game after only removing that one package. Eureka! That was it!

So if anyone is using the teen pregnancy hack from sims2living.com, either remove JM Pescado's asprechargetweak.package file, or remove the teen pregnancy hack. Both of these options work. The choice is up to you. I hope this helps others! Good luck!

I'm posting one of my many error logs. It was the same error for all of them (enthusiasm), so I don't feel any need to post them all.

Until this program is able to work with Delphy's download organizer, it might be a good idea to take all compressed downloads out of the folder and just use the organizer for newly downloaded files before compressing.
