1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Customizing vacation hoods -- would this work? on: 2007 October 11, 20:52:30
You're probably better off moving the lots back into the lots bin via the neighbourhood view, rather than copying files from one directory to another.

By moving them via neighbourhood view, they will all be renumbered correctly in your lot catalog without you needing to do it manually. Once they are the lot bin, just place them in your original hood again, and use the lot bin copies for any subsequent neighbourhoods.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: The hidden lots in BV on: 2007 September 28, 19:59:53
Is there an easy way to extract these lots for placement in a completely clean custom made vacation neigbourhood?
C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighbourhoodTemplates\A001\Lots\A001_Lot70.package (Asia)

C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighbourhoodTemplates\M001\Lots\M001_Lot30.package (Mountain)

C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Bon Voyage\TSData\Res\NeighbourhoodTemplates\T001\Lots\T001_Lot2.package (Island)

Copy (NOT Move, or Cut) these 3 files to:

C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims2\LotCatalog\

Now, look at all the other files in that Lot Catalog directory. See how they are all numbered cx_00000nnn.package, where nnn starts at 0 and increases sequentially?

Rename the 3 files that you have copied to the next 3 numbers in the sequence

Example, my lot catalog went up to cx_00000251.package

so I renamed the three files to
cx_00000252.package, cx_00000253.package and cx_00000254.package.

YOUR NUMBERS WILL BE DIFFERENT - it's the next 3 sequential numbers from your highest numbered file, that you need to rename to.

Start your game. The lots will be in your Lot Catalog. Only place them in custom vacation subhoods.

I had this issue also after installing BV. The problem was remedied by removing ltwvariety and uni_ltw_sns hacks.

I certainly run with both those hacks, although if they are the cause, and if this is the only side-effect, I can live with it, and will keep them in.
4  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: BV: No primping on: 2007 September 10, 18:06:09
heck I never patched seasons, still had primpfix in. Thus primping is still going on in my neighborhoods.

I'll just reinstall the version from the scrapyard, then. Unless advised otherwise by someone More Awesome Than Me.

ETA: Seems to be working fine. All my sims can primp, no problems.
5  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: BV: No primping on: 2007 September 10, 11:36:16
No sims can primp, certainly. I haven't noticed piano corruption, but it does takes some time to occur, IIRC.

Perhaps to compensate for the lack of primping, Neat sims can now "Lick Clean" plates.

After some experimentation, I discovered that

Unnamed Wantable Object Category 10098 for +2,000 ASP is the Sauna.

Unnamed Wantable Object Category 10097 for +500 ASP is the massage table.

Subsequent to installing BV, the "Primp" self-interaction seems to have gone AWOL.

Is it just me? Or is it time for good old "primpfix" to be called up for active duty again?

I've had this occur in my current hood created post-Seasons-p3. "La Magnifique" has no chef, and functions as described by Zazazu with teleporting food, whereas "Londoste", "SimBowl Lanes" and "Rodney's Hideout" have chefs and function as you expect. All Eaxis-made lots, without fridges.

I've only seen this since Seasons p3.
9  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Greater LTW Variety & Sanity on: 2007 July 22, 11:13:02
Does the roll for an LTW at transition to Teen happen before or after the adjustment of interests due to age transition?

It occurs to me that if the -400 adjustment to the "Animals" interest (as discussed in this thread  http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,323.0.html ) happens prior to the LTW roll, no born-in-game sim could ever get any of the Pet LTWs as a first LTW, but only by adding interest point in Animals and then re-rolling LTWs. While I'm not overly fond of those LTWs, I wouldn't mind the odd sim getting them.

I've never had a B.I.G. sim get these (pet-related) LTWs since installing LTWvariety, but that could just be coincidence if the LTW is rolled before the change of interests. If not - maybe Animals being => 600 would be a better check?
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: I need strays. Looking for scruffy looking animals! on: 2007 July 04, 09:40:58
You can turn an owned pet into a stray simply by giving or selling the pet to a townie using the "Propose...Give Pet" or "Propose...Sell Pet".
11  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Uni+LS Career LTWs on: 2007 June 21, 14:18:03
That would be a "life sucks, and then you're raped by wild boars" scenario.

In my last hood, 3 sims out of CAS had the "Become Cult Leader" LTW. In my current hood, I'm running Syberspunk's Uni careers hack, and 2 of my first CAS sims have the LTWs of "Business Tycoon" and "Chief Of Staff" - both now impossible for non-graduates.

There's always the Lot Debugger, should this happen, and you don't feel like having those sims never Permaplat.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Deadly expensive hot tubs on: 2007 April 22, 12:47:50
I had a sim hit by lightning on a community lot, whilst waiting for the taxi home by the payphone. Prior to the strike, his energy was just about totally red, with other motives at yellow or higher.

He did not die, however. His bladder and hygiene motives were totally trashed, but his energy motive leapt up to about 0 (half-full). Other motives may have been reduced, but not drastically.

I didn't think too much about it at the time (after all, Sims supposedly can't die on a community lot), but having read this thread, it seems odd that he didn't die, if c/lot deaths have been enabled.

Just another case of Eaxian logical coding, I guess.

Flamingo: Do your sims in question have university degrees? The Uni jobs won't appear anywhere if your sim isn't qualified to get them. If your CAS sim has an LTW for a Uni job - well, sometimes Life sucks - you could reroll their LTW using the FFS Lot Debugger, or the Cheese Orb, or use syberspunk's shiny hack to make Uni job requirements more realistic.

RainbowTigress: I suspect this may clash. El Presidente mentioned that only one LTW-altering hack can be used at a time. I don't run any Squingeland hacks myself, so I can't give you an answer from first-hand experience.
