276  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OFB - Sleeping on community lots - hacks to re-enable on: 2006 March 10, 21:13:35
I know necromancy is bad, Tongue , but I just saw this yesterday and haven't had a chance to reply till now. Anyhow, just wanted to say thanks for all the comments, I appreciate it. Smiley I do feel like an unknown at points, but I don't let it bother me too much, heh, I think I just need to get out into the general community more instead of just staying around places I'm comfortable at and rarely posting anywhere else. Anyhow, thanks again, I'm glad to know my things are liked. Smiley
277  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How about a hack that stops cleanbot and hydrobot from breaking? on: 2006 March 08, 03:18:30
Yeah, I just finished the hack a few minutes ago. Smiley

I've been using it, and you can test it out if you'd like, it's available here:

278  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Dizzy2's Hacks Checked with hackdiff on: 2006 March 04, 04:43:20
Hi everyone. Smiley I saw someone say that they were curious about Dizzy2's hacks and whether or not they worked with OfB, so I ran them through Pescado's new hackdiff tool (which, might I say, is an awesome tool. Cheesy ) and here's the results:

No problem, I'm glad to help as the whole vampire concept annoys me to say the least. (Despite all the hacks I've been making for them lately, lol) Perhaps you could marry her anyway, and then get her to buy the vampire cure from the gypsy lady? Smiley

What does it do, disable it completely (so the social doesn't even come up), take off the free will, biting by influence only, or what? The community lot one is the one where if you invite them over anything goes, right?

Well, the no biting whatsoever disables all biting, so the social option doesn't even come up, so no biting for your controlled sims or NPC vampires. It doesn't edit TTAB so it should be compatible with all other social hacks. You can, however, still influence another a vampire to bite someone.

The community one, yes, on a residential lot, anything goes, but at least you don't have to worry about Crumplebottom being bitten since you can't have any vampires bite downtown. However, you can still influence a vampire on a community lot to bite someone. I hope that explains it. Smiley
281  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a hack in the plans for no random biting? on: 2005 September 26, 01:50:19
Well, at any rate, even if you're in the minority I'd prefer no vampires at all too so I'll make it for myself, lol. Anyhow, the Vampires Can't Bite on Community Lots is available now here:

http://greensims.net/viewtopic.php?t=862

I'll make the next, totally unavailable option soon. Smiley

EDIT:

Here's the version for no biting whatsoever:

Thanks to anyone who wants to test! Smiley

I'll be brave and say it would be really nice if we could get a version that only disallows it on Community lots.  If you invite them into your home, though, you're fair game.

That's a good idea, I'll look into that. Smiley

I would love an option to turn off autonomous biting or vampires all together. I'm just not into that aspect of the game and didn't want it pushed upon me by incidents of random biting. A mod to avoid that would be greatly appreciated.

Would a version that totally disables biting altogether for any sim (controllable or not) be something you would want or would you rather I just make the only on residential lots version?

I'll start looking into this. Smiley
283  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Is there a hack in the plans for no random biting? on: 2005 September 25, 19:54:24
Well, it may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I made this:

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=718.msg26264#msg26264

to prevent any vampires from biting any NPCs of any kind. It won't protect regular sims though, so if you want to avoid them altogether, this won't help. I may make a TTAB alteration later that will prevent vampires from autonomously biting other sims, but this would also prevent them from biting a sim you want to be vamped unless you use another sim to influence them to bite the sim you want to be bitten. (I hope that made sense, lol) So, I guess if people want it, I'll make a version that will not allow any autonomous biting altogether. Smiley
284  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Mrs. Crumplebottom Vampire. Her true calling? on: 2005 September 25, 04:08:53
Yup, she's NPC Type 0x0026 so she's safe now. Smiley Thanks for testing it! Smiley

re Vamps biting other sims: They don't just do townies, they do service npcs too. In my neighborhood that darned countess bit a waitress and so now she high tails it the hell out of there when dawn hits.

Well, hopefully this can help. I've spent the last few hours trying to figure out how to test what type of NPC a person is (if any) so that I could add to the Bite Neck test BHAV a check to see if a sim is a NPC to prevent vampires (Yours or otherwise) from biting them. I finally found another social that showed how the game tests NPC type well enough for me to copy the method, and I've come up with this:

It basically checks to see if the person about to be bitten is an NPC of any type, and if they are, it prevents the menu from being shown. It's working great in my game, and if anyone would like to test it, here's the link to the zip:

http://beta.djssims.com/djsvampiresnobitenpcs.zip

Thanks in advance! Smiley
