1  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Ok Glamour is installed. Anyone have questions? on: 2006 August 29, 18:21:56
The only real reason I considered getting this pack in the first place was for the Belle of the Ball dress... I think it looks cute, but I'm definitely not gonna pay 20 bucks (considering that's all I have right now) for something that could potentially screw my game up. I'll download it for free instead!  Cheesy
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Who's got some good names for Servos? on: 2006 March 27, 01:30:56
Servo can kill Sims when he goes on a rampage, so nerr.

On the Business Tracker, the circle up in the corner of the screen, press the button in the middle. You choose business perks that help your business. Each perk costs 1 point, which you get each time your business increases in rank. I suggest the Wholesale perks as those make it mega cheap to restock your store. The Cash perks are good too. They give you cash. Dur.

Reminds me of that new commercial the Food Network is running with the two people fencing with fish...
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife = Uni? on: 2006 January 19, 09:39:08
Mkay so I managed to get no actual gameplay done. I was really busy 'decking out' my new neighborhood. It's really starting to shape up and look nice. I got an awesome scrolling shot of the eastside that I'm really proud of pulling off. It looks fabulous.

Anyhoo, I see about the LTWs tomorrow but JM said they should be there so I'd take his word for it.
6  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife = Uni? on: 2006 January 19, 06:33:31
About the LTW in NL, I think I saw them. I normally don't pay attention to them much but I'll check since I'm going to go play in a few minutes.

Hopefully I get a second harddrive for my b-day so I can install Uni and have room for OFB.
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: mike inside on: 2006 January 19, 04:05:02
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Nightlife\TSData\Res\Config\globalStartup.cheat

If you only have Uni, access the The Sims 2 University and not the NL folder, same for the original game. Access the folder for the latest game installed.

Open it in Notepad and paste what you need.

I've attached mine and it includes all useful cheats.

Guide:

m = moveobjects on
m- = move objects off
s = snapobjectstogrid true
s- = snapobjectstogrid false
t = testingcheatsenabled true
t- = testingcheatsenabled false
45 = allow 45 degree angle rotation
45- = doesn't.
party = makes max number of sims allowed on lot to 50
skyscraper = makes highest level 15
dt = dormtools on
dt- = dormtools off

Don't green and blue need to be swapped to correspond with the color spectrum, or am I just crazy?

I guess because green is a more neutral color...
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: HACK RATING SYSTEM on: 2006 January 15, 08:48:00
I'd really like that too.

I'm new to downloading hacks from here and when I just downloaded the entire NL MATY zip I was so confused as to what did what, and what I really needed and what I didn't even want at all.. Luckily I found the "hacks description" which tells which does what, but still, I'd like to know what's optional and what's definitely needed.
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 15, 06:00:57
Did somebody say lights?

Ok... I'll download lights. I love them. Especially with Gun's AWESOME lighting hack. Dusk is so pretty.
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Nightlife = Uni? on: 2006 January 15, 02:14:11
Well no, I bought it when it first came out.

I recently restored my computer and I'm down to a very limited amount of harddrive space. I know that Uni takes up less space than NL, but I get more play out of NL than I did with Uni so I decided that NL was the one to install.
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Nightlife = Uni? on: 2006 January 15, 01:59:11
So I installed TS2 finally and just NL. I don't have much space for Uni. But something I've noticed is that NL includes many things that Uni did. Like the Influence meter and everything. The only thing missing is the actual college.

What gives? I don't think that's very fair that I had to pay that much for Uni just for those features to be slapped onto Nightlife.

/rant.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 14, 23:24:17
The only thing I've downloaded so far, and plan on downloading, is clothes and genetics... I admit, some of the Maxis objects are bad but once I start downloading objects I won't stop and it will clog up my game.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Framing Photographs for In Game Use on: 2006 January 14, 23:23:13
Or, after you've taken a picture, have your Sim paint Still life and take a picture of whatever you want in the green square. Pause the game. Alt-Tab (minimizes) out of the game and go to the Storytelling folder and see a picture called Snapshot or Screenshot or something familiar which is what you JUST took a picture of for your Sim to paint. Basically take your other photo you want the Sim to paint and edit it onto the Snapshot file. Your sim will now paint that photo you took way earlier and you can hang it.
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 12, 22:57:42
It really wasn't too much work. Having my downloads folder completely organized by site and hair/clothes/gender made it a lot easier.

I say it took my about 30 minutes to an hour but I'm not so sure. I'll count my hair files.

Oh, no wonder it didn't take me so long. I only counted 19 or so hair files.  Grin Then again, some took longer than others (but only by a few seconds) because they included the YA age group, or because I had to actually look at the texture to decide what color it was.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 12, 22:36:02
Whoo!

It worked. Call me crazy but that was actually fun. Then again, I only had a few dozen. Totally worth it.

Just a tip though, sometimes the filename will SAY "brown" in it, but don't use filenames, view the texture first and you be the judge. I guess some artists clone the base color (which is usually brown I noticed from the filenames) and just change the color without altering the filename.

Now if only we could get everyone to do this before they upload their hair...
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 12, 21:05:23
Aww... But I hate using SimPE! It's so slow for me and confusing. I guess a tutorial would be nice. I'll look around this thread for one. Edit: Saw plenty of people needing one, but nobody supplying. I'll wait patiently then.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 12, 20:52:11
Hrmm.. So I decided to categorize my hairs too, since I've only got a few dozen. The only problem is, I can't find the Hair Toner. I downloaded the latest DatGen and extracted the 10/19 release to the installed location... But hairtoner doesn't seem to be there.

I'm probably just overlooking it but I don't see it in the plugins list...
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Remember that Sims2 preview disc? on: 2006 January 11, 19:21:12
I have that disc somewhere and I remember exactly what you mean.

Gossip does spread (invisible) memories, so if a Sim witnesses a cheating, it can gossip with another Sim, whom then aquires the knowledge of the cheating because they are given an invisble memory, or some bogus like that.

But yeah, it was the gossip action.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Categorizing all my downloaded hair... Any advice on how to keep my sanity? on: 2006 January 10, 01:16:59
The easiest thing to do is to start fresh.  Tongue

I finally got around to installing the game on my computer (I wiped it clean) and I organized as I downloaded. Simple as that.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Invisible (crashing) house on: 2006 January 10, 01:14:47
I thought Bella lived in the Invisible House, but I can't see her because it's invisible.

No shotgun weddings? Darn!
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: New Open for Busioness Video 1/05/05 on: 2006 January 06, 06:05:52
I'm trying my best not to get so excited over a two minute promo-video, but it's really hard. It was so flashy and colorful and "whee".

A few things that I noticed that I am anticipating:

The servo. I swear I saw a Sim make or stand next to or do something with a servo robot, trademark'd "one eye" and everything.
The elevator.
The kids toys.
The bugs and glitches and guaranteed "Maxis mayhem" included with every expansion.

Edit: I forgot downsizing. Gotta love downsizing. And I can't wait to make everything overpriced and have a "low prices" motto.
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: faceless guy on: 2006 January 06, 04:09:37
This happened to Cassandra when I changed her to a kid again, her face disappeared completely, and change appearance worked like a charm.

Normally, objects flash blue if they are missing a texture, right? So maybe his face texture is missing? I remember simmer's complaining about the TV flashing blue when trying to have their sims play the Urbz from that new (at the time) download, but I forgot the reason why it did the such.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help stretch skeleton on: 2006 January 03, 20:16:02
Thank you, this is real great. Can't wait to use it once I have TS2 installed.
