26  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: new patch 1.24 on: 2011 July 28, 11:21:01
I installed Town Life Stuff and it patched my game from 1.22 to 1.23 and I can't find the 1.24 patch for 1.23. I really don't want to download a 600 mb patch.

Found the patch, here it is just in case somebody installed TLS and can't find the patch either http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_1.24.3.012002_from_1.23.65.012002.exe

So this problem is back in my game, and I don't have any bike in the lot. Happened on multiple neighborhoods so it's not the hood that is borked.
29  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 July 05, 04:52:09
It's the same thing. You can install lots by using Delphy's multi-installer to take a package out of a sims3pack and stick it in the library folder.

Not quite.  I use Delphy's Multi-installer all the time and it is not like his CUSTARD tool.  You cannot use it to see what is in a particular package.  So if you extract the files from the Gothique Library Sims3Pack set (which I have already done) you cannot tell which of the numbered packages is actually the lot, and which should therefore be moved to the library folder.   If anyone has figured this out (which numbered package is which) or knows of a way to determine what is in a particular package file, please post.  Alternatively, someone could just upload the lot as a package/ library file and those of us who want to put the lot in our games without using the launcher would be very grateful.

What MegAnne said. You can open those package files just like any other package files using s3pe or other package editor of your choice.

I hate to ask, but can someone post the Gothique Library as a package instead of a sims 3 pack?

There's a tool for that at MTS.

Delphi's multi-installer is a useful tool, and I use it all the time, but I think this person is probably asking for the same thing that I was asking for, which is for someone to post the Gothique Library lot as a library file which can be installed directly into the library folder. This works fine and avoids the launcher completely. I've installed many lots this way; even ones that haven't worked using the regular method create a package file in the DC Backup folder which can then be converted into a library file. All that would need to happen in this case is for someone with a working launcher to install the Sims3Pack of the set and then to take the correct library file which is created and upload it somewhere (and you can tell which one it is by the time signature on it).

It's the same thing. You can install lots by using Delphy's multi-installer to take a package out of a sims3pack and stick it in the library folder.

Here is a fix and your Sim can learn spells.

http://www.4shared.com/file/rH4WLDsp/spellbook_fix.html

What was wrong with it? Can you explain?

How about reading about four posts back? Or is that too hard for you?

That's not what I meant. I mean what was wrong with the original file that it refused to work? Like is it the xml, or the objd, or what exactly.

It's part of the Contemporary Comfort Living.

Has this been posted? I can't find any of it in the download thread. I searched for "comfort" and "contemporary" but nada.

Is it just me (and it probably is), but is anyone else having game-breaking issues with the Sharper Sim Foot Massage Chair that was released last month?

Is this part of a set? If so, which set?

skiffidy, look at my posts above and see if that solves it.
36  Awesomeware / Armoire of Invincibility / Re: TOOL: TS3 Recompressor on: 2011 June 06, 11:23:31
With Generations installed, the game seem to have problems reading compressed files. According to process monitor, it reads each file about 50,000 times; sometimes more. Decompressing using s3rc.exe doesn't solve it, I had to open the package files and re-save them using s3pe to fix them.

So nobody else has this problem? I might need to try recompressing them but I really don't feel like opening them one by one and re-save them again if this problem occured again.

I never remove all my mods when installing new patch/pack. Not in TS2 either. The ones you need to remove are core mods, no mosaic, and sometimes tuning mods. Script mods are usually safe, and even then you don't have to remove the mods when installing the pack, but rather when firing the game after installing them.

I just turn off UAC. Never had any of those problems.

What was the version numbers for Generation level? I mean, before 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0, I know the base game is 1.21 but what are the numbers for the other EPs?

Note: Installing third-party software changes actual files in The Sims 3. Deleting the unsupported content will not erase the modifications to the game that the software installed.

I don't believe this.

The latest game version is now 1.19 but the only incremental option is from 1.21 which means if we want to patch now we have to use the cumulative patch?
43  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: The TS3 Store: post your questions, updates, and tech help here on: 2011 April 14, 04:54:41
How do you even delete CC in game?
44  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: TSM for TS3 on: 2011 April 07, 13:05:11
What do you think, huh, if we've converted enough, will EA put it in the store or in a stuffpack?
They did with lot of the stuff the modders have made.

Really? Like what?
45  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims Medieval on: 2011 April 07, 06:08:20
There is a mod that unlocks the items (as well as the ambitions) here http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=438511

I don't think it's the same thing. That mod unlocks the stuff that you're supposed to unlock as you advance through the game, not the bonus contents.
46  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: The Sims Medieval on: 2011 April 07, 03:04:21
I know, that's the 2 mercantile outfits, correct? That's the one I found (thanks by the way!)

If I understand correctly, in total there are 3 thrones and 10 outfits, the limited edition code gives us 3 thrones an 6 outfits, and then the prima guide gives us 2 more outfits, and then there are 2 more outfits that haven't been leaked yet. I'm feeling nice today.

It's not a CD key.  When your at the menu for choosing your kingdom, on the bottom left corner of the screen with the menu options, click on redeem code and then when the box pops up, put that code in, and it'll tell you that you unlocked those two outfits.  Here is the code for the 2 throne rooms and the 2 outfits from the pre-order Limited Edition Box - B66H-TCUH-SS9Q-UULP - you also type this in the same place (the redeem code option from the menu on the bottom left corner).

Okay, I saw that post before a few times and missed the code... probably because the post started with "it's not a cd key" and an explanation that I just skipped over it. Thank you.

Now we're only missing the other 2 outfits, Tattered Work Dress and Baggy Vagabond's Attire, if I'm not mistaken.

Any code yet for the collector edition/limited edition contents (new throne rooms, costumes, etc) besides the 2 merchant outfits posted a few pages ago?

L2R, go back a few pages, it was posted.

If anyone is incredibly lazy, such as myself, and can't be bothered unlocking all the ambitions themselves: http://ts3.tscexchange.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=fec504eab18b3e3cd47783a279dd97d2&topic=5176.0 mod to do it for you.

Where? The limited edition with the throne rooms and all? I only found the 2 mercantile outfits.
