276  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 15, 04:20:38
And pescado fixed the issue as soon as they announced that they screwed up!
277  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 12, 13:46:45
antiweatherreaction seems to not be needed. The 'it's raining' or other weather reactions don't queue stomp you with the patch in place. So your sim won't wake up in the middle of the night to complain about not having enough sleep just because it's raining.

The official patch seems to have the same behaviour as the awesome hack...
278  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 12, 09:43:58
Make sure you have your g001 folder in before you patch, or this patch will make your game explode in a big firey ball visible from space. And they can't be modified. AFAIK, it doesn't touch anything in any other folders of the game except for the ones in seasons. Unless it touches the piano in the sims 2 base game... like every patch before it has.
279  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 12, 05:50:15
There are a couple hacks listed in the   /seasons/obsolete/   directory already.

I mean by this things the patch changes that pescado also changed. Not the ones in the obsolete folder (because those ones completely were fixed)

I mean like antiweatherreaction, warmthfixes...

(shame I accidently patched the game incorrectly and must reinstall everything)
280  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Create More UNI based Sims? on: 2007 June 12, 05:17:49
downtownies and townies aren't in the same pool as dormies.

If you use nodormieregen you won't get any dormies unless you make your own. The NPC tree maker is still broken at making dormies
281  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Second Seasons Patch is out.... on: 2007 June 12, 04:52:20
Who is willing to bet that EA stole. I mean borrowed Pescado's code to fix the problems that Seasons shipped with?

Seriously, it took them 2 months from the 'expected' release to actually ship this. Ironically, it takes them too long to release a patch, but every expansion and stuff pack ships on time...

Seems they don't give a crap about the community and will just release all the crap for the game without fixing their previous issues. But good thing we have pescado here to fix them.

On a side note, what awesome hacks are not needed anymore due to this second patch, or were they removed in the new director's cut?
282  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Okay, Anyone Doing the Sims/Vista Rhumba? on: 2007 March 28, 17:34:17
I do the vista/sims 2 rhumba, and can't play the sims without it. Ironically, every other game I play I play under XP (because they use OpenGL for the video support, and OpenGL support on Vista is non-existant because they want to have every single person use their DirectX 10 support and they abandon the OpenGL support there...)

Now, I use the pirate edition, and haven't needed to activate it, and still I get windows updates (but I check the place where I got the crack to not activate it to see if a windows patch might disable this feature since Microsoft doesn't need my money)

Now, even when I get some juttering with Vista, mostly on community lots, otherwise it runs fairly smoothly. I must have my thumbnail views because I play in windowed mode and alt-tab often.

(EDIT:) New ATI drivers for vista were released today. Hopefully they help with the choppiness, and perhaps even I might be able to play the OpenGL games under Vista. If I can't, it's no huge issue to use XP for them.
283  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Tutorial: Clean custom neighbourhoods + townie creation (updated for Seasons on: 2007 March 28, 01:49:15
Batch creating STRAYS is possible, and I found out how.
You need to have a non-stray pet, and turn on the pet control cheat, and debug mode as well (the maxis debug mode...)
Shift-click on the mailbox, and under NPC there's Make NPC - Stray Pets - ALL

There you have it. Batch creating Strays.
284  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Pleasantview, Strangetown & Veronaville Project [UPDATED] on: 2007 March 27, 23:34:55
Are you going to add an upload with the riverblossom hills pre-added?
It'd make the idiot of me who's likely to mess up with it and make it easier.
Of course, if you're waiting for a new SimPE to fix the broken sims with Seasons then I can wait.
285  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Dishes In The Bathroom on: 2007 March 27, 17:49:50
Ehh, I'll tempt making my game explode into a Big Firey ball visible from space by using a non-awesome hack by not having my sims pick up a kicked over trash can.
286  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: New Pets Patch on: 2007 March 27, 07:29:14
I decided just to install over it. Despite Pescado's saying it would do no good, it did definitely FINALLY fix the maid/fishtank thing. (WOOHOO!) Some sheep was saying that it didn't fix everything, though, ones who have Seasons and didn't know that installing it over Seasons wouldn't do any good. My theory is that bugs that are strictly object based, like the fishtank, will be fixed because the patch alters the relevant objects.package file, while it won't fix things that require altering the exe.
Objects.package will not be fixed because Seasons ignores the Pets objects.package completely. Anything requiring executables or objects.package will not be affected by this, which means pretty much everything. If you think it fixed anything, it's probably purely due to placebo effect.

Now, if you're saying the placebo effect when I made a plantsim vampire before I installed the patch, then when I installed the patch the vampire skintone appeared correctly on the plant was a placebo effect? I may not be the expert on the game, but extensive testing with a custom plant skintone (and the regular plant skintone too...) with vampire skintones (maxis and a default replacement) on a plantsim showed the same results, and then putting in the patch and doing the same tests, but not as extensive, came up with the results of the patch working was a placebo effect?

Odd...
287  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Dishes In The Bathroom on: 2007 March 27, 07:14:50
I use a no trashcan tipping over hack (because I hate how dogs come onto my sims lot just to kick over the trashcan and roll in the trash, or how sims furious at my sims come to knock over the trashcan...)

Sure, it'd be free compost, but for me it's more of an annoyance issue when everything that comes onto my sims lot knocks over the can and then my sim needs to travel through twenty feet of snow to pick up the can.

Doesn't mean I won't use this, because I find it annoying that sims would travel through the house to the bathroom with someone in the bathtub bathing to wash the dishes when the kitchen sink never got any use because the bathroom had a higher environment score.

Seriously, in real life, who really walks across their entire house, with a pile of dishes in their hands, when you're in the room across from the kitchen, to the bathroom, to wash the dishes...
288  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Latest ATi Drivers?? Issues? on: 2007 March 27, 07:10:54
Omegadrivers with 9200? I've used them. They work well. I don't have the 9200 in my PC anymore (yay for X800 Pro!) but right now I'm not using official OR omega drivers (the catalyst control center causes lots of problems by the way. Suppost to make everything easier but one game I play does not work well and properly with the official drivers...)

I use NGO-ATI drivers right now... and they work very well for the game, and other games as well (the official ones caused some texturing problems in games where the textures had lots of seams and text had extra artifacts)
289  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: New Pets Patch on: 2007 March 27, 07:05:50
Oddly, very oddly, when I put in the pets patch even having seasons installed it fixed a seasons problem.
Werewolf, Vampire, and normal Sim skin types are now updating correctly at proper times. was fixed...
Plant sim face textures did not change when the plant in question turned into a vampire. Of course, a vampire plant is silly, but it was still an annoying bug...
290  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: Plant sims on: 2007 March 27, 06:59:45
Seems the latest pets patch released on sunday fixes an issue that plantsims had with vampirism. Mostly their face texture did not change... and I heard it also fixed issues of some custom skintones (or regular skintones) with the curse of being a werewolf and their face did not change...

Anyways I did make a plantsim toddler and aged it artifically, and sent it to a business to work by hiring them. I got the issue of them being hungry and refusing to work... later I'll 'artifically' make a adult a plant (by using boolprop on plants to spawn insane amounts of bugs) to see if the same thing occurs.
291  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: Warmth Fix Mod on: 2007 March 14, 17:23:26
Excellent! Now my sims can go outside and play, and not die.

But will they die by making snowmen?
292  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: SS Hack Seasons Repost on: 2007 March 14, 17:21:54
Bye-bye paladin's "fix".
Hello Pescado's fix.
293  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Making non-outerwear outerwear on: 2007 March 13, 18:04:18
Okay, is it possible. To make non-outerwear in the game actually be outerwear. What I mean is removing the restriction of the 'outerwear' category. I have way too many clothing to go through each and individual one that haven't been made outwear into outerwear (when they obviously would fit)

Also, is it possible to make it so that any hairstyle is available to any clothing? My one sim needs his knight helmet on. All the time. Even in the shower.
294  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Seasons: Plant sims on: 2007 March 13, 17:48:35

Who's promoting my mod? Oh, there...

Yep, my mod has been promoted on this site. Now get to downloading it! (I uploaded it BEFORE the uploads were turned off. It's the first seasons required download on the site. Maybe the first seasons required download on the interweb...)
