76  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Facts & Strategery / Re: No two children are not boys? on: 2009 June 16, 20:27:02
This thread needs to be appended to the "Choose Sex of BAbbies" thread.

I am going to burninate all the apple trees in my 'hood.  The key problem with the "just boys" issue is that the bloody apple trees are obsequious, and one of the first bloody things your sim can grow.  Consequently, everyone has one.  I have yet to even SEE a watermelon in my game.

As much as I love the mental image of obsequious apple trees, I think you mean ubiquitous.  Cheesy

I have story progression on and autonomy set high, and I get very few inter-townie marriages. I was getting tons of clone spawn before I turned off parthenogenesis. Now that I've got parthenogenesis off, the partnerless Sims are adopting spawn from nowhere.  Roll Eyes

A) 'I' said fuck-whatever because different words including fuck were said.
B) 'I' never said anyone should change to suit me.. this is where your paranoia comes in
C) Actually in places when people were getting unfairly treated i WOULD interfere.

Your one type of person, and 'I'm another so don't tell me what 'I'm doing, what 'I' might do or the manner in which 'I'm saying something.

You never used the words 'you should change to suit me', but you did point out that we are not polite and implied that we should be, and gave pointers about different ways we could go about it.

So what reaction would you give your child (if you have/had one), say a teenager who had accidently spelled something wrong. If you told them how to spell it properly you wouldn't use any of the language that people use in here. My only point is that on forums where you get people from everywhere, you are going to get mistakes, some people are just excited about getting a point across or something so rush the message. When you read over it, it really doesn't matter if 'their' or 'there' is round the wrong way. It's the content that should be important. But even if you can't help but get bothered by it, there's different ways of going about it. That's all
79  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 13:40:05
Hmm, yeah, because asking why people are so harsh is more rude than calling a stranger a fuck-whatever. Ok.

You asked, and you were told that it's because we like it that way. You then proceeded to lecture that we are wrong, and that we should change to suit you.

I suppose i'm the type of person who tries to fight their moral corner a little too much. Can't help it. And for the second time, i do get the concept. Of course i'm being defensive, i want to live in a nice world, nice people defend, not nice people attack. But jeez, yes i get the concept! I will get on with it. But i'm not a tard just because i fought from a different corner for a while.

Most of the forums out there are 'nice', just the way you want it. It is rude of you to come in here and argue that we should also be nice because that's the way you like it. If you don't like this forum, go post in one you do like. Stop telling this forum how you want it to be.
81  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Important notice from the GRAMMAR POLICE. Plz read. This means you. on: 2009 May 29, 12:43:04
Well you turned out to be a wondeful person didn't you. I just think all this is such a shame.

If you don't like it here, go somewhere else. The majority of forums would actually agree with you about hand holding tards and would welcome you with smileys. You might have to wait a few more days to post about your illegally pirated Sims 3 games at those forums, but once it's been released I'm sure you and all the other n00btards will be much happier in that kind of atmosphere.
People who have been at MATY for a long time choose to stay here because we prefer to not be bothered with trying to decipher the poorly spelled and incomprehensible ramblings of people who can't be bothered to learn their language properly. We don't want to see MATY become like the BBS or all the other happy forums, and we don't appreciate you all streaming in here and demanding we treat you like they do at forums we don't like and don't want to be like.

83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Magic Wand question on: 2009 April 22, 17:06:28
This is strange.

I killed Don Lothario and the lot became vacant afterwards, could be bought for $15,000.  I wave the wand around and the monetary value of the lot goes UP, to $33,000.  Why did it go up?

Some objects appreciate rather than depreciate over time, and using the magic wand makes them go up in price rather than down.
84  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Environment Score...Tanked on: 2009 March 31, 19:44:29
If it weren't for the tanked room score, the bamboo would be my favorite floor.
I first discovered the evil properties of the bamboo floor while playing a lot made by Emma, one of her empty shop lots for OFB. I had changed the floor she built it with to the bamboo floor. Customers ran screaming from the place, and the owner's environment score was in red. I spent all his money buying expensive paintings, statues and other decor, and sold anything that was cheap. Nothing worked. I started wondering what the hell Emma had done to make Sims hate this place so much, lol. Then I finally tried upgrading the floor and the environment score went up immediately. At first I thought it was the relativeness cheapness of the bamboo floor, but I knew I had seen cheaper floors not tank the room score like this floor. So I experimented with it, seeing the room score with the bamboo floor vs. the room score with equal or lesser priced floors, and the bamboo floor always tanks the room score.
It is truly an evil, evil floor.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Environment Score...Tanked on: 2009 March 31, 16:00:12
There is one floor, Polished Bamboo Light I believe is the name, that always tanks the environment score whenever I use it. I don't know why, it's 4 simoleons per square, and I've used cheaper floors that don't have that effect.

86  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you satisfy a "get a pet want" with/without wfsanity? on: 2009 March 31, 11:55:42
can't you just create a pet with CAS and stick it in their house, that's what I do?   I can't be bothered with all the rigmarole of going to the pet shop

Did you even read the question? It's about how to satisfy 'get pet' wants, not about what is the laziest way to add pets to the family.
87  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How do you satisfy a "get a pet want" with/without wfsanity? on: 2009 March 30, 12:04:54
wfsanity is one of my favorite mods, I'd never take it out, so I luckily don't get a lot of get pet wants. But when I do get them, I've had them fulfilled by buying pets from owned businesses. This also fulfills the wants of Sims in the household who didn't go on the shopping trip. (6 & 7 on your list).
I've also seen the get kitten want fulfilled by the birth of kittens. (no. Cool
I agree with you about how hard it sucks that adopting a stray doesn't fulfill the want, it doesn't even fulfill the specific 'stray pet's name' joins family want.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Roommates & Work Income on: 2009 March 13, 15:22:15
Bad things happen if your sims move out before sacking all their roommates.

What kinds of bad things happen when you move Sims out before sacking roommates? Fiery ball kind of bad? Is my neighborhood doomed?

Zazazu, I've been lucky so far with my roommates, they do go to bed and feed themselves, and tae care of their bladder needs. They never serve meals, just make TV dinners for themselves. So far my worst problem wit them is they stay out in the communal area hot tub all night in the winter, and freeze up, lol.
89  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Roommates & Work Income on: 2009 March 13, 12:07:41
The roommate pays half the rent.
90  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Miscellaneous hacks by rufio on: 2009 March 09, 15:38:06
Yes; I mostly had this problem in dorms, though.  There would be entire rooms carpeted in research books.  My sims never had time to do anything but Macro->Clean.

Yes, exactly my problem. I had one dorm that had a bookshelf in the common area on the third floor. My playable lived on the first floor and had a bookshelf in his locked dorm room so he never went up to the third floor, which was littered with books, lol. In dorms where I had bookshelves on a floor I was actually using, I started just deleting the books as they collected on every table and floor tile. It was kind of a pain, but I didn't want to waste my Sim's time picking up after a bunch of dormies.
91  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Miscellaneous hacks by rufio on: 2009 March 08, 21:58:13
I've wanted something like your bookshelf hack for a long time. Stupid lazy Sims throw their books all over the house and never pick them up again, lol.
92  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any opinions about my plans for game renovation? on: 2009 March 06, 23:10:47
I use LD's deco slots and have never noticed that problem, or any problem with them.
93  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Pets seems to think it uninstalled itself? on: 2009 March 02, 22:29:09
I once had a similar problem with Uni thinking it uninstalled itself.
I quit before the game could delete my campus/YAs, and then ran a defrag, and after that, my game loaded as normal, Uni included.
I really don't know why it happened, or why a defrag fixed it, but it wouldn't hurt for you to try that if no one offers any better ideas.

94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Read novel on: 2009 March 01, 18:09:45
I don't have any real novelists in my current hood for the same reason. I do have one Sim currently who has written 3 children's books (Animal Stories 1, 2 & 3). He was short a few thousand simoleons to buy the toy shop he wanted, so I had him crank out a few crappy kid's books to earn the money he needed. His girlfriend had a turn on for unemployed, so he didn't want to get a real job, lol. Now with rufio's mod I think he might add his books to his toy shop inventory, while I think about who will own my next bookshop and who will write the books.
95  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Read novel on: 2009 March 01, 13:42:26
Thanks, rufio. I haven't had a bookstore in ages because they only sold the base game books, and I just got bored with it. Now there's actually a reason to have a bookstore.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Read novel on: 2009 March 01, 00:14:55
It sucks that Sims who haven't written novels and don't live with anyone who has will get the want to read one. It also would have been nice for EAxis to allow you to order extra copies of your novels to give to friends or sell in a shop. Someone here posted a method to get multiple copies but it's really something they should have included in the game.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Read novel on: 2009 March 01, 00:06:28
With FT, after you finish writing a novel, they deliver a copy of it to you. Then you can read it.
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Read novel on: 2009 March 01, 00:00:27
It wants you to read a novel written by a Sim.
99  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Window - Double Hung 0,0 <-- what is that? on: 2009 February 28, 16:47:14
There is a base game window called Breeze-easy Windows' "Double Hung" Deluxe (that's the full name in the catalog). It's the really basic window, costs 90 simoleons.

There's a fix for neighbors reading your paper at MTS2:
