Is anyone else having 'name' issues with this? I can get it to work but everything comes up with names like "Gameplay/Excel/DOT03_Wor" and the like.

I've got a couple more weird things, not sure if they've always been there and I've never experienced them or what.
Sometime, if a toddler is upstairs and I tell a parent to pick it up for whatever reason, the parent will go up to the baby, turn around and go downstairs and hang out in the living room while the baby cries at the top of the stairs.  It doesn't happen all the time so I don't think it's some sort of route failure, but I'm dumb about these things.

I've been getting that without generations installed; I think it's something like the kid coming towards the parent, and ending up at the top of the stairs where the parents can't pick them up, so leading to routefail.

I get that too.  Except Mom bee-lined it to the garage, not the living room.  I have to make sure the kid is in a room with no stairs most times, otherwise the stupid kid goes for the stairs.  Can not wait to have AM back.  The stupidity is driving me crazy!

So strollers...anyone else notice that they can't be pushed up a slight incline or hill?  I had my Sim take her toddler for a stroll and all was well until she reached a hill.  Then she picked the kid up, walked up the hill and put it back in the stroller.  Later she also put the kid in the stroller to move her from outside to the highchair on the same level.

What's the point of a sand box if a toddler can't play in it?

I think I'll just wait on this until I start hearing good things.  Bummer about no more kids with Grimmy, he used to have some rather decent looking kids back in the days of Sims 2.
5  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Fireplaces suck. on: 2009 July 26, 20:29:12
I haven't had any fires, but that's because I don't use the fireplaces often.  And so far the worst my sims have done was burn a meal, but not set the stove on fire.

Burglaries are no issue for me either.  I think just about every time I've played a new family there's always one on the first night.  What cracks me up though is the burglar is usual the same one each time, as if there are no other criminals in my town.  Also that not only did she attempt to rob my sim family, but Dad was a cop and they lived right near the police station in Riverview.  Talk about dumb criminals. LOL.

Hmmm, let's see...
- a free standing shower like the one that came with university
- clutter of any kind (more plants, kitchen pots and utensils, bathroom supplies, gardening tools, etc.)

Hell yes!  Those are number one and two on my list.

More cars.  Seriously...who in Sunset Valley wouldn't love to take a nice drive along the coast in their convertible?
Changing Tables...it just looks weird to toss the kid in the air, and boom...clean diaper.  Other baby/toddler accessories would be nice too.
Stationary bicycle.  I prefer those to treadmills thanks much.  What about an elliptical or stair stepper machines?  Those would be a nice addition to any home or gym.

I know it's not buy mode...but I want my half walls back damn it! *shakes fist at EA for taking them away*  It's fugly as all hell using a fence in place of a half wall.

I kept telling myself, 'I don't need it, the game is running ok-ish'.  But have decided to give it a go as I've always used J.M.'s mods in Sims 2.  However, now that I finally decide to do so, I also get the main screen, no green loading, with spinning cursor.  I've tried it with all mods emptied, and with nointro installed and get the same result.

Lol.  From the good ol' sim days of not being able to take the kiddies anywhere, now they can crawl off into the sunset on their own.  It is comforting to know though that I'm not the only one with horrible sim parents around town.
9  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Think of the children! (Bad Parenting in the Sims 3) on: 2009 June 28, 15:05:09
I found this rather worrying last night.  I sent my adult sim off to town whilst the kids were in school.  She stopped by the bookstore, then took a fishing lesson, and finally stopped at the Bistro for a bite to eat.  While she was there a mother sim and her toddler came by.  At first the mother started teaching the kid to walk while other customers were milling about.  After a bit she stopped teaching the kid and started chatting up some guy.  I went to check on my kids, and left mom reading at the Bistro after her meal.  I came back a few sim hours later to check on mom.  She was still contentedly reading, and everyone else had wandered off, including the other sim mom leaving behind her toddler.

Now I've only seen this that one time so far, but it's got me wondering.  How many sims do this, and if these poor children some how magically know how find their way home.  Shouldn't Social Services be all over these irresponsible sims for abandoning their toddlers?  You know they would be if heaven forbid I left my toddlers at home with out a teen sibling, or a babysitter!

58% fee, and 2047 MB RAM with a 5.2 Windows experience rating on the RAM.  After a full uninstall / reinstall, deleting of groups.cache, and updating an outdated driver...still does it.  I'm talking with EA, and we'll see what that gets.  Really thought at this point I'm ready to just uninstall M&G again and say so long to it.  There's only one or two items on there I uses anyway.

Thanks for all the help / suggestions though.  I really appreciate it.  Smiley

I can't imagine what.  It was working fine when I bought it.  Worked with all the hacks and downloads I had.  So one day it just decides not to?  I don't do my own hack, I know I am no where close to being that awesome.  So I guess I'll try a full uninstall, and reinstall.  Otherwise I'll just boot M&G because AL worked just fine.  Thanks though for answering me Pescado-sama.
12  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Excuse me, what? on: 2009 February 26, 16:01:57
So up until yesterday I've had all EPs and Stuff Packs and all was well.  I had the appropriate hacks / mods for what I had and Sim Life was good.  I haven't played in about a month or so because I was bored.  So finally on Monday I start playing again.  I went in and started building my house, decorating, all the good stuff.  Then last night when I went to create the family, all hell broke loose.

I could create one family member just fine, but when I go to add the second it sort of freezes halfway in the CAS.  I'd have the family member standing in front of the curtain with the camera, but also had the little box open where you pick name, gender, race and what not with all the random new info for the next Sim. (Problem)  So I cancel it and try again.  This time it makes it all the way to the CAS, but now the new Sim is spinning in the corner like some possessed demon.

I uninstalled all downloads, even though nothing new has been added recently, and tried again.  Same thing.  Uninstalled it, tested it out with AL.  It looked like it was going to do it, but made it all the way after a tiny hiccup.  Did this twice just to be sure.  So I reinstalled M&G to see if it was a bad install. (Don't know why, it worked flawless before.)  And nope, it's still doing it.

Would a No-CD crack fix this, or a patch?  Has anyone else had this problem?  Or should I just toss M&G out the damn window and go back to playing with AL?  Would a full reinstall (All games & stuffs) fix it?
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims 2 and Windows 7 on: 2009 February 23, 00:07:57
However, at this point I believe that Vista's reputation is irreparable. For all I see, Windows 7 is just Vista already fixed. Of course, Microsoft gets to charge us all over again for doing so. I think I am going to stick with Vista unless I get a newer box.

That's my philosophy.  ^_^  I wouldn't have got Vista in the first place if it wasn't that I had to buy a new computer.  So as long as this one stays in working order, I'll be just fine.  I have no intention of switching over to Windows 7.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: kids can't be taken to school in the family car on: 2008 January 12, 01:22:37
Oh Christ on wheat crackers, hope they aren't high on outgoing as well; I doubt there'd be anything quite as annoying as kids walking to school doing the Fonz "thumbs up Cheesy!" walk the whole way there and back....

Grin I can just picture my sims doing that to. *shudder*

16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Quick Questions on: 2007 April 15, 16:38:38
Unless I'm not thinking of the right words to search by I have two questions.

1) Is there a hack that will stop parent's obsession with 'dance together' with a child?
2) Is there a hack that stops the 'pillow fight' obsession?

Everytime I blink one sim is ignoring my wishes and doing one of those two things and it's driving me crazy. Thanks for any help!  Grin
