Use one of the summoning cheat items to port the leader of the pack to your house and then make friendly like.

Cheesy  Cheesy Sanramone is actually helping someone turn their sim into a furry! I knew someone protested too much. Sanramone is just looking for more furry friends.  Cheesy  Cheesy

Well, it's going up now Tongue

Thanks - because I liked the look of that dress and now I know where to get it.  Wink
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sounds like the kind of bonus I get at work! on: 2006 October 24, 19:31:10
now this is what I call a bonus and she did it all while being pregnant.  Chalk one up for us girls.  Grin

At least with this card, it sounds like something an animal could do. Too bad they can't get maternity leave like the sims - it would give more time to teach them skills. My simmies are turning into slave drivers - stay home and watch the new commercials on SimsTV while sending Fido out to earning some simoleans.

And the cat pans never need cleaning. I wish they made ones like that irl. Smiley

I know! The pet bed does eventually get stinky, though, which seems oddly inconsistent.

Huh  Playing in a vanilla game, I've had the litter box get dirty and need to be cleaned. I had two cats in the house and it seemed like every other sim day the box needed to be cleaned. The animation is kinda funny when they are cleaning it out.

Cool. I want to put a big dog at the greek house. Think of all the pizza the dog can eat! Teach the dog to be hostile to others and chase off the damn mascots and coaches.  Cheesy
7  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Doing this for my brother *rolls eyes* on: 2006 October 23, 23:26:47
I have had this happen before. Have the sim move out of the lot he's in and to another. I've only had the problem when they were in individual residences and it was fixed moving them to a dorm. Not sure if just moving them fixes it or if you have to move them into a dorm to fix it.

Nope, don't have Radiance Lighting mod. Thanks though.  Undecided

Did you install Numenor's Scriptorium? An earlier version was installing GunMod's lights even if you choose not to install it. He made an update to it.

9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: mod request for pets on: 2006 October 23, 14:52:55
It also happens when all the sims are at work and just the pets are at home. I would understand it doing that if you had used the cheat to make the pets controlable, but I haven't and time doesn't speed up. I just use the fast forward button, but it is annoying. When the game is fast-forwarding itself, it will return to normal speed if someone wakes up or something "happens". When you manually fast forward, it doesn't revert to normal speed when someone wakes up or comes home from work.

What's w/ this whole elderly cat lady thing? I mean, I hear a lot about elderly cat ladies, but I've never actually met an old lady who lived alone w/ a ton of cats. Have you?

Yeah - I've known several eldery people - men and women - who have collected a large number of animals that they can't properly care for. It's starts with them feeding the neighborhood strays and then more start coming around and then......  Their heart seems to be in the right place but they seem to have no concept how many they can properly care for and wind up with way too many pets.

If that censor.package is the one by Quaxi, it needs to be updated for Pets.

I think we need a "bite sim" mod, the wolf bites, why cant regular dogs?

*jumps up and down*

That's the one I want.   Grin  Think of the possibilities.......
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Missing grade on day of age transition on: 2006 October 23, 01:41:50
OK -
I'm playing in a testing hood and Beau (he's the younger one, right?) transitioned from toddler to child at 1pm.
Never do this post-NL. With NL cars, the grade-loss ding is applied at 1400 for children, 1200 for teens. If you transition at 1300, your sim will be a child at 1400, not in school, and therefore will be immediately penalized for not going, even though it wasn't possible. Pre-NL, the penalty was applied at 1000, an hour after the school bus left. Same story applies to missing work, but when you get a new job, you get a special "Does not have to work today" bit set. However, no such analogue exists for school, as there are no exceptions for school attendance, sims must always attend or be penalized. Don't transition at odd times, only use the 1800 transition.

Thanks this is great!  Grin Good info for future reference.

When I play normally I don't transition them early but I got sick of the kid playing in the damn toilet and I'm still adding back my usual hacks and haven't gotten to the one that squashes that.
14  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Why didn't I think of this last post...? on: 2006 October 22, 23:17:42
Yeah, I'll keep an eye out for when that one is updated. How did Pescado manage to get his game quicker...? o_O

UPS delivers to Malaysia quicker than Montana.  Cheesy
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Missing grade on day of age transition on: 2006 October 22, 23:13:07
OK -
I'm playing in a testing hood and Beau (he's the younger one, right?) transitioned from toddler to child at 1pm. I then got a pop-up notice saying that he lost a grade because he missed school that day. I've not had this problem in the past, but I believe this was one of the previous game bugs that was "supposedly" fixed. Any one else have this problem?

The hacks currently in game:
Monique's computers (the updated Pets version)
The new Pets version of Quaxi blur removal
Two Jeffs Perfect Plants

I'm guessing that either it's a game bug or something with Monique's computer.
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sounds like the kind of bonus I get at work! on: 2006 October 22, 21:54:34
The programmers probably based the bonus on EA's bonus/overtime policy towards them.  Cheesy
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: anyone else have this? on: 2006 October 22, 20:42:57
I know Inteen wasn't compatable, thats why I took It out. I put the hacks folder on the desktop. The game shouldn't be able to "see" it from there, right?

Have you run clean installer to look for any hidden mods?

How would I do that?

As far as I know, it can't see it from the desktop, but it must be able to see it from somewhere if you still have the options in your game.

http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/

When you check your downloads - pinks are duplicates, reds are things that alter game behaviour (mods). If you download lots, a mod may have hitched a ride along with a lot. If you don't recognize the name of the file (especially if it's in red) try taking it out of the folder to see if that changes anything.  Also, be sure you removed Inteen's flavor packs if you had them installed.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: anyone else have this? on: 2006 October 22, 19:49:56

I still have all of my downloads except for my hacks folder, but the game keeps trying to give me inteen options. I had a hard time installing the game and now it takes a half an hour for the game to load.

HELP!!!

If you still have the Inteen options - then you haven't removed it.  Where did you put your hacks folder? Some people have reported the game being able to "see" the folder if it's anywhere in the EA Games directory. Have you run clean installer to look for any hidden mods? If you still have Inteen options - that's probably the #1 reason for the problems - it is definitely NOT compatible with Pets.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: MaxTotal cheats on: 2006 October 22, 18:42:51
Looking through my config-log file, I noticed some new cheats.

uintProp   maxTotalSims 10
uintProp   maxTotalHumans 8
uintProp   maxTotalPets 6

Anyone tried changing these, yet?

uintProp   maxTotalSims 28
uintProp   maxTotalHumans 8
uintProp   maxTotalPets 20

Put these into my userstartup.cheat file. Didn't work when I tried to merge five cats into a household that already had three cats and was told that this would exceed the number of pets allowed on the lot. Damn. I soooo wanted to make the "eldery cat lady".  I hope somebody comes up with a mod for this. I always used DocDoofus's mod and easily had 15 sims living on a lot throwing parties with at least another 10 sims visiting and didn't have problems.

Go to a mirror and change the pet's appearance. Might not work on custom mirrors made pre-Pets so be sure to use a Maxis made mirror.

The kitty is just rolling around. The fact that it's pointing at anything at all is purely coincidence.

No. It's obvious that the cat is praying to be spared from the kitten killer god.  Tongue
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any one using Planetary Pet Store on: 2006 October 22, 11:12:05
So, the only way to buy a bird or a rat is with OFB/ownable store? Huh

No.
Sorry for the confusion.

When I usually play the game (and not like right now where I'm testing things in a vanilla version), I have sims go to community lots or sim owner businesses to buy items that they could normally buy in the catalog. I was looking for a way to try and get around the ban of animals at uni, so I sent my sim to the community pet store. I knew that I could have an adult adopt from the pet store but didn't know if the game would be smart enough to ban a YA from buying a pet. While I was at the lot trying to adopt a pet, it occured to me that I couldn't actually buy any of the items even though it was set-up to look like a store. I was just wondering if something was changed from Pets that was supposed to allow you to be able to buy things without placing them on the shelves on community lots or if you still had to use the OFB shelves. Seems kinda silly to have a community pet "store" where the only thing you can buy is cats, dogs and collars - considering you can get cats and dogs at home - why would you go to a community lot just to buy a collar?
24  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Any one using Planetary Pet Store on: 2006 October 22, 09:44:46
I ran the planetary pet store as an ownable, so didn't notice. Why would you need to buy the pet items, and not the pets themselves, given that they're available in buy mode? If you don't have OFB, then you should *GET* it. Off the Intarweb, if you're cheap.

I have OFB. I noticed it when I was looking for a way to get pets on uni lots. I know we're not supposed to be able to have pets at Uni, but of course, being that all simmiecal's suck, I was looking for a way to try and get around that. Stuff wasn't showing up in the buy catalog and I couldn't adopt over the phone so I thought I would send the YA to the pet store to see if he could buy one. While trying that (of course it didn't work) it dawned on me that lot hadn't really been set-up as a store. Even though I could buy items from the catalog, I prefer to make sim-owned business and make my sims go shopping for whatever it is they need.
25  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Any one using Planetary Pet Store on: 2006 October 22, 07:05:06
I placed the pet store and sent my sim there. I didn't make any changes to the way Maxis had the store set-up. How are you supposed to buy anything in the store?  Are you supposed to alter the lot and place the items on the OFB shelves?  What if you don't have OFB - kinda makes the store pointless, doesn't it? I can click on "buy collar" but everything else - bowls, bird cage, etc., will give me the option to fill the bowl or feed the critter but not to buy it (the exception being the cat and dog on display).

Any one else able to buy anything in the store without changing it from the way Maxis set-up the lot?
