Has Jordi said whether he will be updating his Inteenimated versions of Pescado mods?
Jordi has retired from TS2 modding. I don't know if someone else has taken over updating them or not.

Attached Baby Bottle Only version. It has its own GUID, so it will not overwrite the standard version. All functions are still there, I only disabled autonomy.
It's based on the fixed FT version, probably FT or higher will be required.

will this fridge conflict with Ella's fridge that just does baby bottles for the nursery?
This one? I checked the GUID of Ellatrue's version. She didn't change the GUID, it's the same as Targa's original or my updated version. So yes, mine will conflict with Ellatrue's.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: No make out -not before not after not now on: 2008 December 16, 22:04:52
Unlike Woohoo, Sims must have "Crush" flag on to accept Make Out. There are a couple of romantic interactions that require Crush flag.

It's possible that they will remain that way until they die. I have several couples in such a frigid relationship. Sometimes love potion helps, but not always. I let them woohoo solely for procreation, and let them cheat to their hearts' content. It's like a marriage of convenience in Sim world.
80  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Invisible Firejet on: 2008 December 16, 21:28:42
I don't think you need a texture at all if you want it transparent.
Set stdMatAlphaBlendMode to blend and then stdMatUntexturedDiffAlpha to 0. Then you can remove stdMatBaseTextureEnabled and stdMatBaseTextureName. I'm not sure what other stuff you can remove though.
Thanks for the information. Good to know that I can make invisible recolor packages even smaller. Every bit counts.

EDIT: Not that it matters much since the invisible textures can be so small and don't take up a lot of space.
True, but without Compressorization invisible recolor packages can become bloated.

82  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Targa's SupaFridge - Updated to FreeTime (Updated 2008-12-17) Animation fixed on: 2008 December 16, 21:06:21

This is an updated version of Targa's ever popular SupaFridge, a mini-fridge that functions as a full-sized fridge. A HUGE thanks to Targa for creating this wonderful object. It is my all-time favourite fridge and a must-have for Sim nursery. I only wished I could have more color choices than the 3 Maxis defaults, preferably sharing the same textures with the Maxis mini fridge. After some trial and error, I finally succeeded to apply "Repository" technique to this cutie.

It has the same GUID as Targa's original version. You must remove Targa's original version to prevent GUID conflict.
Poly count is the same as Maxis mini fridge.

Requires Uni. Works for Pets or later EP engines.

  • Targas_SupaFridge-SNS: Pets/SNS/BV (including Teen, Store Edition, K&B and IKEA)
  • Targas_SupaFridge-FT: FT/AL/M&G

FT version may or may not work in Seasons/BV, so use at your own risk.

1. Can use all recolors of Maxis "MMM" Mini Fridge.

No need to make separate recolors for SupaFridge. It will pull textures from Maxis mini fridge.

2. Updated for OFB / Seasons / FreeTime.

All OFB functions (Make/Make Many), Seasons functions (Get Leftovers/Stock) and FreeTime function (Serve Platter) are now enabled.

3. Fixed the counter slot bug.

The original SupaFridge has a bug which makes it impossible to prepare food on top of it. Maxis mini fridge doubles as a kitchen counter when it isn't placed under the counter. Sims can prepare meal on top of the mini fridge. But the original SupaFridge lacks a counter slot, because it was cloned from base game Cheap fridge. As described in this post, if you don't put SupaFridge under the counter and try to prepare a meal on top of it, the food will just disappear. Similarly, if you put small appliances (like microwave) on top of SupaFridge and try to use it, the appliance will just disappear. I fixed this bug as best as I can. Sims can now prepare food on top of SupaFridge just like the Maxis original, and objects will not disappear when placed on top of it. I can't guarantee that the bug was completely squashed though. Any help will be appreciated.

When you take out SupaFridge from your game, it will now revert to Uni mini fridge instead of base game Cheap fridge, and "Counter - Controller" error will no longer occur.

4. Fixed the outdoor shadow.

Now correctly casts the shadow when placed outside.

5. Increased food capacity.

You can choose between two versions; original (capacity: 80, same as Maxis mini fridge) and increased one (capacity: 400, same as the K&B Stylish fridge). Choose ONLY ONE version, they share the same GUID and will conflict with each other.

6. Fixed animation and juice drinking bug.

Thanks to the generous help of rebecah and yedda_2000, two long-standing animation issues were finally fixed.

Drinking juice function was glitched in the original SupaFridge. When children try to drink juice from SupaFridge, it disappeared from their hand.
rebecah already fixed this bug back in June, but I delayed integrating this fix to wait for AL. Then when AL finally came out, the whole issue just slipped from my mind...
Sorry for this awfully belated update, but better late then never.  Smiley

As the original Maxis mini fridge lacks leftover function, SupaFridge used tall fridge animations for storing leftovers, which looked very awkward. yedda_2000 fixed leftover animations for both adults and children. Now Sims will actually crouch when they store leftovers, and the fridge door will close properly.

Note:

If you want SupaFridge for "Nursery-Only", you can edit it with SimPE on your own.

Open the package in SimPE. Select Pie Menu Functions (TTAB) in Resource Tree window, select TreeTable in Resource List window.
In Plugin View window, you can see all available pie menus for fridge. If you don't want Sims to take out food and prepare meal autonomously, select each menu and change the Autonomy value from 0x00000032 to 0x00000064. Repeat it to all meal-related menus (Have/Serve Meal/Grilled Food/Dessert), press "Commit File" button and save your package.

Known issues:

When Sims stock fish or produce in SupaFridge, they will hold the basket in an awkward way.

Update History:

2008-02-15: Removed annoying mouseover tooltip. Removed redundant shadow png file for smaller size. SupaFridge now borrows shadow as well as textures from Maxis mini fridge.

2008-03-11: Updated to FreeTime. Sims who have gained enough Enthusiasm points in Cuisine hobby can Serve Platters of chips, cheese and appetizer.

2008-12-17: Awkward leftover animations were fixed. Juice will no longer disappear from children's hand.
Only FT version was fixed, Seasons version remains unfixed. FT version may or may not work in Seasons/BV, so use at your own risk.

Food capacity of FT LargerCapacity version was raised to 400 to match K&B Stylish fridge. "Counter - Controller" error will no longer occur when you take out SupaFridge from your game. Added Korean translation of catalog description.

83  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Problem with nopedostalkers - can't interact with anyone in community lots on: 2008 December 16, 10:13:24
I'm having a problem with the most recent version of nopedostalkers.

With nopedostalkers in, Sims can't interact with anyone in community lots. When I send a Sim to the community lot and click other Sims, the only actions available are Shoo, Voodoo and Cast Spells. Greet only comes up if the Sim I want to interact with is doing nothing. But it quickly disappears when the Sim is engaged in other activities.
Problem went away after I took out nopedostalkers.

Tested in hack-free game except for nopedostalkers. Same result when alfix is added. No error log produced in debug mode.
I have all EPs and SPs up to M&G.

Risking the scary man to point out that XPTL297 made recolors for this, to be found on the Insim site:
http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=99751
New link on Walt-Free InSim: http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,99751.0.html

Pescado, the catalog description texts in all Asian languages with 2-byte characters (Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Korean) are completely garbled. I yoinked the official Korean catalogue description from TS1 with Transmogrifier and uploaded it to FTP. Couldn't salvage strings for other languages though, apparently you need to download fonts even for copypasta.
85  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: NEWS: WE CAN HAZ LEGAL THREATS? on: 2008 December 15, 21:36:21
Pescado, perhaps it's prudent to kill a few remaining attachments in those Store threads, just in case? Unlike MediaFire links, they ARE stored directly in cheezeserver, after all.

And just out of interest, are there any amusing examples of broken objects?
Browse through any of Store threads in Peasantry, and you'll find plenty of examples.

My personal favourite:

Behold, the lolpayshit.

86  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Apartment Life Borkiness, or how i ended the world in 1 hour. on: 2008 December 14, 04:42:05
Is there only one patch for AL?

EA official site always lists only the latest patch. If you freshly redownload the patch from EA official site, you'll always get the latest version.
87  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Invisible Firejet on: 2008 December 14, 03:09:11
This will be really handy, especially for witchery establishments. Thanks!

I have made my own recolours in stone and jet black because of my lack of knowledge in making invisible things, so this is ORSOME.
Is there no tutorial for making invisible objects anywhere?
Hope the information below will be of help.

Make a normal recolor in Object Workshop.
Import a properly cropped transparent PNG into your new recolor package. (I've attached some samples for your convenience.)
Make sure that texture format is DXT3 or DXT5 to ensure transparency.
Set stdMatAlphaBlendMode of TXMT to blend.
Set reflectivity to 0.0, and stdMatEnvCubeMode to none.
This is for making an invisible recolor for existing objects. The object will become recolorable, but the indoor and outdoor shadow will remain.

If you're making a standalone invisible object like OMSPs, remove shadow subsets from mesh to get rid of indoor shadows.
To remove outdoor shadow, go to GMND -> tsNoShadow, and set value of all existing subsets to 1. If there are multiple GMNDs, you have to do it to all of them.

You can look into my OMSPs for reference.

I could sworn they used to have more themed outfits, including a Christmas Story Bunny Outfit
Apart from last year's Advent Calendar, which were entirely fan-made contents, I don't remember anything related to Christmas from German site.

Darcy, who did make the easter egg radio that was given away on the German site this past Easter (or was it 2007?) as a part of their 'egg hunt' then?
I don't know who, but a quick look into the package file revealed that it was indeed made with SimPE.
89  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Homework, The One Desk, and kids of all ages on: 2008 December 12, 12:37:31
As FOJ said, it seems that one of the more recent EP (probably FT) broke The One Desk hopelessly.

Prior to FT, students were able to put their homework/assignment on the usable side of the desk, provided that the right side of the desk was not blocked by wall or other object. Students stood by the right side of the desk before they put their homework on the desk.
This is still true for YAs, but not for 6s and 12s. 6s and 12s insist on putting their homework on the floor nearby The One Desk, even if I put a lamp on the left side of the desk and keep the right side of the desk unblocked. PITA indeed.

91  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2008/11/19) on: 2008 December 11, 14:04:08
Looks like most of glaring mistakes were taken care of.

Only Danish actually. But it does display. Somebody must've pressed the wrong key. It should be "Flyv i skole" without an asterisk.
Will be fixed in the next version.

Thanks for the cauldron fix again.
Are those "Resume Making (potion)" strings grammatically correct in Danish? I copypasta'ed Danish potion names from this post to fix them.
92  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2008/12/11) on: 2008 December 10, 17:04:35
2008-12-11: Updated to v1.09.

is the fix compatible with the official patch? The magic cauldron was updated so it has the new "Weiter (...) herstellen" (Continue crafting (...)).
AL patch fixed b0rked cauldron strings for "Resume Making" interactions. Previously, wrong object name was displayed in cauldron pie menu.
I forgot to incorporate this update. Fixed in v1.09.

Also restored AWOL BedGlobals strings, stupid me.
93  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Decustomized and Updated Maxis Official Objects/Clothing (Updated 2008-10-10) on: 2008 December 10, 10:53:49
The soccer uniform set is also available in Exchange, which EAxis recycled in FT except for face makeup and toddler version.

AFAIR, there was no official EAxis-made objects that was exclusive for German site. Fiat Punto is official, but it's available on several official European EA sites. Other objects like egg radio or plumbob trophy are not EAxis-made, they were made with SimPE. I wouldn't consider them as official. Only those 2 carnival skins for CF and AM are their exclusive official EAxis-made stuff.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for a good firewall on: 2008 December 10, 10:25:05
iTunes = Do Not Want. There is really no need to stick to iTunes if the only feature you want is CD ripping. If I were you, I'd ditch it and find a less intrusive alternative.

Personally I use Exact Audio Copy (THE best CD ripper) and foobar2000 for CD-ripping. When I want to make really exact, accurate copies of borrowed CDs, I use EAC. If I just want to rip my own CD to transfer into my MP3 player, I use foobar2000. Both support freedb.

EAC adds eBay icon on your desktop by default. Remember to uncheck it when you install.
95  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 10, 10:01:37
Would someone be willing to set the flags for these objects to base game?  Right now, very few of the objects are showing up for the Mac game configuration (EPs up through BV plus FFS, GLS, and Holiday SPs).  The objects that ARE working are both end tables, the coffee table, both dressers (fixed by Lord Darcy), and the bed (fixed by Lord Darcy).

I've been working on them as fixes have come out.  Unfortunately, very few of the remaining objects show up with just a flag change: the arm chair, dining chair, and one floor lamp.  That's it.  I'm not sure if Lord Darcy just lucked out in picking most of the BV-compatible objects, or if she worked her magic on them... Cheesy

Try change the 0x0000: version_1 - Read Only field in all OBJDs from 141 (decimal) to 140 (decimal). The 141 value was only introduced in FT, so pre-FT EPs won't be able to recognize such objects. I "downgraded" OBJDs in all my fixed objects. That's probably why they can be recognized in pre-FT EPs.

Remember that you have to change all OBJDs in multi-tile objects. If you miss one tile, it will be b0rked just like that Asian bed.

More information is here.
96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Make friends with 5 service NPCs. Which ones count? on: 2008 December 09, 16:34:53
Anyone who cannot be interacted with at all (only "There are no actions available" tooltip comes up when clicked), or can't be flirted with (NL interactions like "Feed Bites" don't count) are off-limits.
97  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Looking for a good firewall on: 2008 December 09, 12:56:45
I'm on the verge of uninstalling iTunes because every time I start it --which is rare, I only use it for ripping CDs to my computer-- it adds its services (or whatever) back to the startup.
Have you tried disabling it in msconfig?
98  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Make friends with 5 service NPCs. Which ones count? on: 2008 December 09, 09:59:45
I edited various NPC and townie family names in SimPE for easier identification, like "EP5 Garden Club" or "EP6 Locals - Far East".

The real "NPC family" contains all base-game service NPCs, like maids or gardeners. All 24 Uni professors are included in this family.
Not all NPCs included in NPC family are interactable though, e.g. Local Chef or Food Judge.

Nameless NPCs, e.g. Pollination Technician or Witch Doctor, belong to "Default" family. They are actually objects, not real Sims, so editing them may corrupt your Object.package file. You can see who belongs to which family by browsing through them with Inge's teleporter.
