101  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: More Decorative Slots for Maxis Furniture (Updated 2008/09/18) TV Stereo Fridge on: 2008 December 07, 08:18:30
Store ModernAsian objects were fixed and improved.

Decoration Transformer doesn't work for urns.Cry

Works for me.

Does the one for AL require rebuying the objects?
If you installed AL, I recommend selling and rebuying all Maxis dressers (armoires are not affected), even if you were not using this mod in pre-AL game. AL reassigned SLOTs for all existing Maxis dressers. Objects which you previously put on a 2-tiled low dresser may be found at the far edge of the lot, because 2-tiled dressers are no longer able to hold more than 3 objects. (Pre-AL, technically they were able to hold up to 12 objects.)
Other objects are not affected by installing AL, as AL didn't create/alter new decorative slots on them.

Will these extra slots work with all of the preorder bonus items that have been released?
No. This mod has nothing to do with preorder objects. I added decorative slots on GLS TV, IKEA dressers and end table. You need to get those updated objects from my decustomized preorder thread.
102  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 07, 06:56:56
The decorative slots on 2 ModernAsian dressers were b0rked, as reported by Havelock.

Lord Darcy thanks for the extra slots on the latest Store set, would you be so kind to fix slots on the Dresser_Small_ModernAsian and Dresser_Medium_ModernAsian from the Asian Fusion set? The small dresser has a broken deco slot (unable to place anything on top but CRES has a slot entry)  and the medium dressers slots are to high, objects float above the surface.

Uploaded fixed versions.

Also fixed b0rked knob texture on the 1-tiled dresser. Previously the knob subset was linked to ModernAsian door. (WTF?) Now it's linked to the 2-tiled low dresser from the same set. If you remove 2-tiled dresser from your game, the knobs on 1-tiled dresser will flash blue.

ETA: Link fixed. Please re-download.

All objects that I personally fixed, cleaned up and improved are included as well.

  • Double Bed
  • 2 Dressers
  • Coffee Table
  • 2 End Tables
  • TV

I'm asking this, accepting all flaming you want to throw at me.
I find this thread very difficult to find things and was wondering if someone could put all the hairs and clothes into sections in one post.
Do you have an inkling how much work it is to collect pillaged files, weed out empty packages, sort through various fixed versions submitted by a dozen different people? And yet you expect people to keep up with pillaging progress whenever a new item is added or a b0rked shit is fixed? When all items are found and fixed, a complete collection will be made like all previously released sets. Either wait for the complete collection, or sort through yourself.
103  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Most worthwhile expansions and stuff packs? on: 2008 December 06, 16:55:34
And how did you determine who was the reporter when they came?
Although reporters don't have a special uniform, they're fairly easy to spot. Look for the customer who constantly takes notes.

Perhaps the reporter NPC is reused? (In which case, I think I shall put mine in a slightly more descriptive outfit.)
If you have antiredundancy, I believe that only one reporter is used for all businesses.
104  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 06, 16:21:38
More decorative slots were created for several Asian objects. (TV, 2 end tables and coffee table)
Fixed double bed is also included.

They should appear even without Store edition, patched FT, AL or M&G.
Glass tabletop subset of coffee table and end table is now recolorable.
TV is based on the updated version by Richief from this post. Either AL or M&G is required. Broken FX was restored.
Bed does not work in OFB-based engines.

ETA: Now available in this post with several other improved objects.

This thread is getting long, pillaged files scattered in several pages. To avoid further clutter, please use this thread for thanks-only posts. Thanks in advance. Smiley
105  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Most worthwhile expansions and stuff packs? on: 2008 December 06, 07:51:19
The only stuff pack that I haven't arrquired yet is Glamour Life stuff and that's only because every single file I've found on TPB has been labelled as having a bloody virus. Is it worth getting or should I just not bother to keep looking fpor a clean one?
It was my favourite SP until IKEA and M&G came out. (The quartertile cheat alone made M&G my favourite SP ever.) I use GLS objects quite a lot. PJs and coats are nice too. Certainly not worth to pay for, but worth enough to acquire. There is still one available on MiniNova. No mention of virus in comments.
106  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 06, 06:57:53
Is anyone else having problems with the bed?  It throws my sims into the "too many iterations" error any time it's placed in their apartment.  Typical Eaxis phail

The OBJD verson bit in one of headboard tiles was b0rked.

Uploaded fixed version. Should appear even without Store edition, patched FT, AL or M&G.
Does not work in OFB-based engines, as usual.

ETA: Now available in this post with several other improved objects.
107  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Table Slot Height Fix (Updated 2008/12/05) Added Pets AtomicAge dining table on: 2008 December 05, 11:19:14
2008-12-05: Updated to v1.02. Pets AtomicAge dining table (round glass 1-tiled table) was fixed.
108  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2008/11/19) on: 2008 December 04, 13:08:07
2008-12-04: Added PetGlobals. Fixed a lot of existing strings in different languages. Removed garbage strings in unused languages for smaller file size.

i could not find the string for Business.../Be Salesperson it stays English in Game all others are under Geschäft.../.
Business.../Be Salesperson exists in autosoc, which is now part of Macrotastics.

Probably you will need to contact Pescado directly via IRC. Although I heard that he is very busy with InSim/Walt business ATM.
109  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Most worthwhile expansions and stuff packs? on: 2008 December 03, 18:26:40
a neat refrigerator and stove with KBS (both of which, as we all know, are broken by later EPs).
K&B fridges should be all right provided that you applied FT patch or have AL/M&G. And K&B stove was never broken.
110  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 03, 17:56:09
I am so confused. What files should I get, I mean are there fixed objects in one file, or all the files have objects that are working and fixed.
Geez, this set was released, like, yesterday? And yet you expect that there would already be a nice, fixed, convenient collection for easy yoink? Roll Eyes Have some patience.
111  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: TS2 Store Asian Fusion Collection on: 2008 December 03, 11:22:01
Really? I get 404 error too.

MediaFire links are known to go wonky from time to time. Try again after a few hours.

ETA: The link works for me now.
112  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Run the game without installing? on: 2008 December 03, 11:19:10
I used to do the same thing as OP in TS1 days. I always installed TS1 to my data partition, not the program partition, so all installed game files were intact even after formatting and reinstalling Windows. With the single execution of the exported reg file, the game is magically reinstalled again... how sweet.

I was severely disappointed to find that this trick no longer works in TS2. Tried and failed. I had to manually delete all added entries. I was not sure whether it's inherently impossible in TS2, or I missed to export all needed registry entries.
113  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Pie Menu Text Strings Fix (Updated 2008/11/19) on: 2008 December 02, 11:16:55
I almost forgot about gardener members. When you want to buy some chlorophyl... dechlrophyllli... hmm, if you want buy a potion that turn Plantsim to a normal Sim, you'll see (in French, of course) "Acheter une potion.../Chlorophylline/". It have to be "Acheter une potion.../Chlorophylline.../", of course !
Will be fixed in the next version.

And, gardener members will always sells only this potion ; it's the same thing for all NPC that sell potions, except gypsy and witches.
You are aware that it's not a bug, aren't you? Garden Club members are supposed to sell only Plantophic-C (that's English name), and no other. It would be weird if they also sell vampire cure or love potion.

I could provide you with Danish version, but I need the things to translate in a text file.
SimPE can export/import strings into text files. Export English strings, translate them, and import back into Danish. Pescado instructed me to send him translated text files.

Before "Fly to school" action for no reason there's an asterisk ("*"). I believe it's like that in all languages.
Exactly where? STR# 0x0000012E of PersonGlobal has "Fly to Work" and "Fly to School", but I see no asterisk.

Pescado told me about those strings beginning with asterisk. They are not intended to be displayed, so no translation is necessary.
114  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Career Outfits are Added to Wardrobe Again in FreeTime on: 2008 December 01, 10:34:31
(with Uni) starting a career mid-ladder would add all of the lower-level outfits.
Did career outfits work that way in Uni days? I didn't know. Poor memory or lack of attention. Embarrassed

I actually have that, but Fat Gwilly People never asked.
Gwill, please?
115  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: UPDATED 11/28/08 Site: Ambular's Artifacts on: 2008 November 29, 06:19:27
I love that you added some small decorative objects to go along with the set. I end up deleting lots of custom clutters because they are just too big. I can really use that small picture frame, perfect size for mantelpieces too. Smiley
116  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: M & G Street Lamp on: 2008 November 24, 09:54:32
Notepad, or any text editor of your choice.

Why is it titled EP9?
This pack is more like a mini EP, adding new cheats and new animations, e.g. sniffing the flowers. It's built on the latest EP engine like FFS or GLS.
Thanks for the information on how to fix b0rked lights.
117  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Maxis Centerpiece... as Centerpiece! (Updated 2008/11/23) Updated to M&G on: 2008 November 23, 04:34:49
2008-10-19: Updated to v1.0d. Added an additional file for plates, bowls, FT platters and cakes, as requested by Menaceman44.

2008-11-23: Updated to v1.0e. Added 1 M&G table plant and TV Dinner tray.
118  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: *moan* Unwanted crap townies and NPCs are infesting my game! on: 2008 November 23, 01:13:12
Also, I suspect those apt residents aren't evicted when a family moves out, thus leading to a bunch of non recyclable townies stuck with the apt key in their inventory; pretty much similar to what happens in uni dorms, when a playable moves out.
Dormies can be recycled if you remove dorm key in their inventory with SimPE. I expect that the same technique can be applied to apartment dwellers, i.e. removing hotel key in their inventory.
119  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: M&G setQuarterTilePlacement on/off new decorating "cheat" on: 2008 November 22, 16:40:58
This cheat is a godsend. Especially for those coffee tables and wall decorations. No more fiddling with tiled floors to help centering objects.

Does this work for rugs without borking the textures?
Alas, no. I think that's why EAxis disabled this cheat for rugs.
120  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Neighborhood Object Gone Missing with AL Patch 2!!! on: 2008 November 22, 16:20:05
I can confirm that both buildings were restored by M&G. But the original billboards sans graffiti are still missing. You can get them from CTNutmegger's MediaFire shared folder too.
121  TS2: Burnination / Peasantry / Re: Ship in a Bottle, Jade Dragon, stuffed Freezer Bunny unlocked ( AL required) on: 2008 November 22, 15:32:59
All 3 decorative objects are included in Mansion & Garden Stuff.
But the Freezer Bunny has only one color (pink). Blue is MIA. New CEP needs to recover this lost color.
122  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Stuff Pack Objects Fix Collection for Apartment Life (Updated 2008/11/22) on: 2008 November 22, 15:08:56
2008-11-22: Updated to v1.04. Fixed furniture sound of 3 Celebration dining chairs.

Compatible with all versions of AL (Unpatched, Patch 1 and 2) and M&G. Even if you don't have AL, you can use this fix if you have M&G.
Removed redundant UK English text strings to reduce the size.

It means that we have to move all packages that aren't the game from AL Bins, Overrides and Skins to M&G Bins, Overrides and Skins ? Or only LD package in AL Bins, Overrides and Skins to M&G Bins, Overrides and Skins ?
Files like preorder objects will work regardless of the location, but you'd better to move all files to the latest EP. (This pack is more like an EP than a SP.) Depending on the loading order, some files like OBJD overrides or clothing unlockers may not work under the old location.
123  Darcyland / Lord Darcy Investigates / Re: Stuff Pack Objects Fix Collection for Apartment Life (Updated 2008/11/06) on: 2008 November 22, 03:03:19
2008-11-06: Updated to v1.03. Fixed Russian text strings of New Year's Party Phone Call.
Compatible with all versions of AL. (Unpatched, Patch 1 and 2)

Mansion and Garden Stuff Update: M&G reverted a lot of SP objects to the b0rked state of unpatched AL. Move the fix to the new location under M&G folder. Moar investigation is going on if something else is reb0rked as well. (And I thought I'm done with it when AL came out... Roll Eyes)
124  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Transferring (or copying)wardrobes from family to family on: 2008 November 19, 23:04:34
It's the original base game outfits I'm wanting. I did previously have a self-made hack, but it stopped working after freetime.
Do you have K&B? K&B is known to break clothing unlockers for all base game outfits. More information is available here.

If you have AL, base game clothing unlockers will work in AL Skins folder.
125  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: you should meet my therapist on: 2008 November 19, 11:31:31
I'm repeatedly offered Pollination Technician's number. If it is a bonus for Sims with good reputation, DO NOT WANT.
Sims in Default family should not be offered as new contacts. Not sure if it's an EAxian bork or a tight pants issue though.
