TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Bork List: Freetime Ed.

I've been following this thread with interest and am wondering if there is any redeeming quality in EP7. Aside from the bugs, EAxis appears to have tripled the irritation factor. It sure doesn't sound very appealing.
Any load time and lag issues?

No idea, but I gave up patching my game after the Pets patch fiasco so this is just another one I'll avoid. Besides, some of those fixes sound like they would be fun to keep, like selling the fire dancing mat.
ETA: I bit the bullet and made a quick recon at the "official" dump. There are a couple links for downloads and a notation it will be up tomorrow. I wonder how many things BVP2 will break.

You have to admit though, the taking an hour to pee thing is obnoxious. It kind of makes sense for most other things in the game, but the peeing isn't even remotely comparable to real life. "Sympathy" not withstanding, it's ridiculous. Like EA WANTS the bathroom to be occupied at all times, so other sims can't use it, and pee themselves. Call it a pet peeve, but it just drives me crazy. Ziggy: the poster was talking about the mechanics of the game itself, not the mechanics of a mod. Removing whatever imaginary mod you were thinking of won't fix the problem. Neither will being rude about it for no reason. Okay, so if you want to talk about game mechanics: what aspect of the game would you change, without making it too easy? Is there anything that you think should be harder? If it were much easier to fill their needs, I think the game would be a lot less compelling. My comments weren't rude, but to the point. If you don't like certain mechanics of the game, chances are there's a mod to fix the things that irk you. If the OP doesn't like using snapdragons, then he/she can stop using them and explore other methods, such as smaller families and other suggestions made here. There's no reason to accept everything EA has put on the TS2 plate.

Since you disagree with certain mechanics of the game, then go cold turkey and stop using whatever mod irks you. Just discussing your angst won't accomplish anything. Do something about it. I personally love the snapdragons and have them set up in each bedroom. It's always nice to get a good night's rest.

TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Help Wanted: BSODs and CPU Overheating

Sorry in advance for derailing the thread a little, but perhaps the good folks can help me out as well...
I havent been suffering from BSOD, but from freezes. A. k. a. where the entire comp just suddenly decides to not do anything at all anymore. Mouse wont move, the clock in the lower right corner stops changing etc. I have had my comp in for repairs twice, as its under warranty, and they have changed the RAM, CPU, MB and the GFX card. The comp still freezes tho. Like this morning, where i got up, went to the comp, and the clock said it was 03.58, while my alarm clock kept insisting it was well past 8 am... It does not happen at any specific times, it happens both in the AM, and the PM, and it happens without any clear cause when it comes to programs active, as it can do it while i got a browser open, while im playing the sims, or while nothing is opened at all.
Any good ideas? Besides chucking the comp out a 3'rd story window....
Have you tried replacing the battery?

Dawn, that was a mean bitch of a download for us poor sods on dialup (and still downloading as I write this).
antiprank antiredundancy ffsdebugger fruitbowl orchardtree fix payatbox phonehack phonehack-talkmodule sandcastlefix
Yeah, my hacks folder is a bit sparse but I tend to wait until things start to really irritate me. Like waiting ten minutes for a stupid image to load.

Yes, I do play them, Annan. The elders that have a ton of money and a big house stay put until an offspring graduates from Uni and moves back home. The elders then buy a retirement retreat and move there (but keep on working at their jobs).
If they have more than one kid, they will pull out Paladin's checkbook and send a check to whoever didn't get the house just to keep things fair between siblings.
Seasons and BV added enough extras to make for some interesting scenarios, plus sometimes they are a relief to play after the chaos of my Uni dorms (I play a rotation).

Just wondering if it's safe to move a family from the main neighbourhood to a sub-hood. (I know moving to another hood leads to a string of VBT's)
Also, can the main hood stay in touch with the subhood over the phone and vise versa?
Not only can they stay in touch by phone, but Sims can visit via invites for lunch, dinner, parties, etc. I have a subhood set up for the elder Sims, based on retirement living in Florida. No snow. Just sunshine, heat, and humidity.

For whatever it's worth, no dancing trees in my game. All EPs plus the first Holiday pack and Glamour. No other stuff crap as I swore off EAxis after BV. I haven't patched my game since the first Pets patch disaster (and that patch was dumped).

Being stuck with a sucky dialup at home, you have my empathy. Any water wigglers on those lots? I recall those were the downfall in my game.
BTW, check out your local library's computer lab. They probably have broadband and USB ports. You can download the monster files to a flash drive and bring 'em home in your pocket.
