Not seeing some of the lag I has with BV.. which could have been nice.

I don't have the jump bug but about half the time I send them to do something they get halfway and just stop and it drops out. It's not the "ZOMG there's something my way" they just stop and stand there.

Craft items left in inventory seem to depreciate overnight.

They seem to obsessed wit the exercise bike as much as tossing the ball... they play til they're on the verge of death, it seems.

The job thing is spreading to everyone.. a few hours after they leave they just reappear on the front lawn like they were sitting in a car. Bought one of them a car and sent him back. He just popped back up on the front lawn, minus new car.

Hi everyone!

I think I've found something really annoying:
Everytime my sims are off to work they suddenly appear on the lot again after some time but still within the time they should be working.
When they should return from work the message "You weren't at work blah blah" pops up - plus: I don't get any money.
And also I get some wierd anim-string error message

Same thing for me, minus the error message... they just reappear on the lot around 7pm-ish. No carpool, no nothing. Clean install, pre-made sims in the new 'hood, no downloads at all.
The queue droppage is pretty bad too.
And every time they're not doing something, it's off to toss the ball around or read a book... they'll stop halfway to the bathroom and go get a book. [Insert your own "reading room" jokes here]

Edit: The job thing seems to be limited to the new neighborhood only... so it's about to have a little annihilation.

I saw a post at MTS2 the other day that showed how to edit certain files in simpe to keep from getting the "this sim does not have a phone"  message.    but when I tried to find the thread again I couldn't.   You know what a mess it is over there.   Grin

Umm, let's get some facts straight.. it was removed. Why? Not missing  because it's a "mess" but it had proven to cause problems more severe than it fixed.

Sims2packs can be opened with the Clean Installer too. Just right click and "open with".

One thing you can do though is to use SimPE to delete every townie with no relationships.  Then you can renumber the files at the end so they fill in the gaps.  That way, if the game does decide to respawn anything, they'll be at the end, and therefore easy to find!
Do not do this! Renumbering the files can severely bugger your game as the instance numbers are also used for NIDs, and changing these in mid-game will confuse the game.

I second this completely. As an experiement, I removed all of those disconnected townies and other characters. The result was that anytime an NPC came on the lot, it crashed or froze for a long time.

I ran into something like this. I lost my original neighborhood.. yes, tossing families and their houses in the bin and moving them elsewhere  is BAD. So I started fresh with a new neighborhood. Since Uni was an option, I created everyone there as young adults.. The end result was a disater. No one aged and no one could have babies. It was a hideous mess that resulted in not just a complete reinstall but a registry sweep as well before all the data was removed. There was also a myserious lack of townies.. not a bad thing but very strange.

"durrrrrrrrr"?

I'm new here. Is there a translator

The current waiting list for the English-Moron translator is now over 45 years.. don't you love the internet Smiley

The only sin in the MTS2 chat was making the newbies cry.. and I'm not really sure that was a bad thing.

Rennie makes me nervous on many levels. She's playing the "I'm a banned victim" when, in truth, she isn't banned. But I guess stretching the truth is part of playing the martyr.

I really haven't enjoyed watching all these site wars go on. I don't see why it matters who goes where and associates with who. I thought I had left that behind when i entered jr. high. And i don't see why it ever mattered where we got our answers from as long as we got them. Maybe we need a "no childish outbursts hack" for the users, not the characters.
