Thanks for the help Rose, very helpful. My search didn't turn that up.
2  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How do I check polygon counts? on: 2007 January 01, 23:20:46
I would like to begin to weed out any high polygon meshes that I may have, is there a program to check polygons? What is the level that denotes a low/high polygon count? Does anyone know what creators create meshes with low poly counts? Thanks
3  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Tweaking in game graphics settings...Advice please. on: 2007 January 01, 17:32:36
Lambi....Thanks for the link to the guide, very helpful!
Lordrichter....I do like to play big lots so thats something I will keep in mind. I do have a fairly extensive collection of custom hair meshes so maybe I may need to do some purging there too.
Thanks to all who have reponded. I am purchasing a new laptop and it has 2000MB RAM with an Nvidia Go 7300 256MB card and the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and I am hoping to run the Sims2 with all EPs. At least now I know what to do if I have to adjust for graphic performance.
4  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Tweaking in game graphics settings...Advice please. on: 2006 December 31, 22:51:05
Thanks so much for the advice people. My resolution is already at 1024x768 not sure I want to go to 800x600. I have set my shadows to 'off' and my texture detail and graphics effects to medium. Seems a bit smoother now and I will see how it goes.
5  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Tweaking in game graphics settings...Advice please. on: 2006 December 31, 16:52:24
Hello, I would like to tweak my in game graphics settings in order to hopefully prevent a little choppiness. Right now all my settings are on high and I have an ATI Radeon X700 256MB; 1000MB RAM. I don't want to touch the graphics card settings themselves, just the in game sims settings. Where is the best place to begin? With smooth edges? With shadows? I am wanting to do as little as possible and do it gradually in order to see a gradual improvement. I like to have the mirrors reflect since its more realistic but maybe I don't need all the shadow detail. Any opinions? Thanks, Tracy

I have been looking at a laptop recently and hope to play Sims 2 with all EPs on it. Tell me what you guys think of the specs. My biggest concern is the Geforce card, is it good enough for TS2? Thanks

8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: What hack allows choosing of family members who go downtown? on: 2006 December 17, 03:14:47
Thanks Venusy, I didn't realize that. It would be nice if it worked for cars also. Appreciate the response. Tracy
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / What hack allows choosing of family members who go downtown? on: 2006 December 16, 20:21:43
I thought it was the phone hack that allowed for a dialogue menu to pop up so you could choose who could go to town. This morning I clicked 'multiple sims' in the dialogue and everyone including the dog piled into the car. Shouldn't I have gotten a dialogue asking 'is Bozo going?' 'is Bozo's wife going?' Do I have the proper hack for this? Thanks
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why is my basement flooded? on: 2006 September 27, 22:46:55
Does Inge's 'staythings' shrub still work with OFB?
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Why is my basement flooded? on: 2006 September 26, 14:46:13
Thanks people. I did try moving the house to 'higher ground' but that proved ineffective. Seems I will have to accept it as it is. My family's basement is flooded and no one in the 'hood has a pump. Sometimes life just sucks!
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Why is my basement flooded? on: 2006 September 25, 18:17:20
As you can see by the attached pic, the basement of my sim home is flooded. I tried removing it with the pool tool but that doesn't work. It was not like this when I put the objects down there. What happened and how do I fix it? Any help appreciated. Thanks Tracy

13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: In game user interface thumbnails? on: 2006 September 19, 22:30:38
Thanks for the advice people. I will try the lot debugger I suppose although I tend to be a little nervous about using that thing.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / In game user interface thumbnails? on: 2006 September 19, 17:08:41
Could someone tell me what thumbnail file I delete in order to refresh all my sims' pics on the UI in the game? Thanks
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Question about 'No Respawn Hacks' on: 2006 September 18, 16:07:13
Thanks for the explanation jsalemi. I have one more question if you or someone could answer for me please. What causes 'squiggly lines' in speech bubbles?
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Question about 'No Respawn Hacks' on: 2006 September 18, 15:50:00
What 'no repawn hacks' are available and are they all compatable with OFB? Is preventing the spawning of townies, downtownies, etc. the best way to prevent the BFBVFS? Thanks
17  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim unable to clear plates.... on: 2006 September 15, 20:36:27
Issy's solution worked. Thank you so much.
18  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim unable to clear plates.... on: 2006 September 15, 20:00:11
Tried deleting the Groups.cache with no success. I will now try Issy's solution and will see if that works. Thanks for all your help again people. I will let you know if Issy's idea works.
19  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sim unable to clear plates.... on: 2006 September 15, 14:39:44
Hi KittKitt,
It seems to be an issue only in the one house.
20  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Sim unable to clear plates.... on: 2006 September 15, 14:32:46
I have a sim that is unable to clear empty dinner plates. The only option available to the sim is to 'Lick Clean'. I used the stuck object remover on the plate but all subsequent plates are still not able to be cleaned up. I even removed my whole hack folder and went in and tried again. Still stuck.Any help appreciated.
21  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Haunted Community Graveyards? on: 2006 September 07, 23:27:48
I have recently had a number of first generation sims die. I have moved all of their tombstones to a graveyard that is a community lot. Will these dead sims come out at night as ghosts if I send a sim to the community graveyard at night? Do the dead sims haunt community lots?
22  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Last sim on lot dies....tombstone stuck there on: 2006 September 07, 21:20:42
Thanks people. The gravedigger sim sounds like the best option, I will go ahead.
23  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Last sim on lot dies....tombstone stuck there on: 2006 September 07, 18:45:52
The last sim on a lot died of old age. I want to move her gravestone to the cemetary to be with her husband but I cannot enter live mode in order to click on the urn and get the' move grave' option. Anyone able to help me with this? Thanks

Could someone clarify for me what the difference is between the ATI drivers and the 'modified omega versions'. Thanks
