1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Manually Patching to 1.11.7 Base Game--help :( on: 2010 June 11, 23:19:06
Jeez people I know you like to jump on any chance to act snotty, but chill a bit?

My search of google, MTS, and this forum brought up lots of suggestions...which I tried. That MTS guide was the first thing to pop up in google. Some worked, some didnt, some were for a different result. I was hoping someone would know anything about why UI.package keeps breaking.

Kodawaruonna: Thanks for the tip but already confirmed I have the correct region.

rhodaloo: Glad you had some luck with it. Hopefully I can borrow some from you when I reinstall it again Smiley

Seriously? Read.

Mosquito: Thanks for the link but I already followed every suggestion listed in that guide. Guess I'll try uninstalling again and try to find a compiled 1.11.7 patch somewhere or just go all the way to 1.12 and suffer without Awesomemod for a bit.
3  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Manually Patching to 1.11.7 Base Game--help :( on: 2010 June 11, 06:05:15
I had to uninstall TS3 several months ago due to some computer issues. Now those issues are fixed. But now I have Sims 3 issues galore!

Specs:

Win 7
TS3 Base Game
No mods/hacks/CC installed

So obviously I want to use Awesomemod, so I cant use EADM to install the patches because it wants to go to 1.12 and Amod is only compatible with 1.11 for now. So I've downloaded all the patches up to 1.11.7.

Patching to 1.2.7 failed, "unknown file" error. Downloaded the Sims 3 log and it told me my UI.package was broken. So I reloaded the one from my DVD. Patch Successful!

Patching to 1.3.24 failed, mostly "invalid file" then "patch verification failed" and now it just freezes after about 1% of the bar is full and I have to end the process in task manager. After a few attempts, the Sims 3 logger said everything was normal. Now it says my UI.package is broken again. Did the same thing I did the first time, but all the patch launcher does now is freeze at 1%.

My game launcher also started crashing, but now seems stable. I CAN play the game with patch 1.2.7...but would really like to get to 1.11.7 and use Awesomemod!

Help!
4  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / "Selective Freezing" with new computer: Awesome mod's fault on: 2009 November 22, 21:33:28
My brother built a computer for me a month ago. Here are the specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, build 7600)
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16 ghz
8 GB RAM (right now 4 GB)
Directx 11
ATI Radeon HD 4770 with 2 GB Memory

I have patch 1.4.6 for TS3. When I first installed and played TS3, the trees were glowing and boxy pixels. My brother had me turn some kind of anti-aliasing off, which fixed the problem.

I also had some BSOD issues unrelated to TS3, so I removed 4 GB of RAM. Which fixed that problem.

Now, I have "selective freezing":

It first started when my sim woke up, right as the high speed transitioned to normal speed..my sim froze while walking, but his plumbob was still spinning like mad like it was in high speed. I could not move, click, zoom--nothing. But while everything else was frozen, the plumbob, some birds, and plants were all moving at hyper speed.

This has now happened within seconds of entering the game, during a fast transition (whether it be time-wise, or zooming quickly in from map view to my sim). The only way to stop it is to End Task TS3. I tried taking a screenshot, but when pasted in paint all I get is a giant black box.

Can anyone help? My record playing time was building a house and getting my sim a job. I'd like to play further someday...

Update: Since I had never played TS3 without Amod, I uninstalled it to see the difference. After 10 mins of no-freeze gameplay, I've come to the sad, sad, conclusion that Amod was caushing the selective freezing. I'm going to test further, because I cant comprehend TS3 without Amod.
