1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / The World Of Pudding / Re: Getting engaged to/marrying foreign sims. on: 2010 January 28, 22:00:27
As for me, this was one of the many things that stopped working in my game.  Going back to an earlier save and retrying fixed it.  The game is so sensitive.  I save very often and have to revert back to earlier saves often.  I am slowly making progress in my storyline.  I think I may have problems with this neighborhood because it is heavily edited.  It seems the more editing I do the faster it gets borked.  Hopefully the game will get more stable.  One can only hope.

Thanks for the advice.  Smiley I went back to an earlier saved EA folder.. and reinstalled WA... and my sim EASILY (so easily that it almost pissed me off a bit) was able to go steady with Jean Luc in France AND had the option to propose marriage. Their relationship meter is only half-way full!

It was ridiculously easy. Let's see what happens when she comes back from France though!

Weird.

I've made my sims fall in love and get married.  They got engaged in the home neighbourhood, but got married in the vacation hoods.

Have you guys done the "ask if single" interaction?

Yep.

When I looked in her relationship panel for him, under partner it gave the name of his ex girlfriend with the ex gf icon so I waited until they returned to the main hood.

After I  used "testingcheatsenabledtrue" on the French sim, I noticed this too for my sim. It had her ex's name with the ex symbol. This is when I decided to go in and kill the ex. This still didn't solve the issue.
What's "Twallen's SC"?

I'm having this exact same issue. Even after using "testingcheatsenabled" to add the French sim to my sim's household, they STILL couldn't get married (I'm not even getting the option to 'move-in' by the way.) . He's not dating anyone and, she broke up with her boyfriend. They're both single. They know all of each other's traits, and their relationship is maxed out.

I even went in and killed that ex-boyfriend of hers. This still didn't work.

There was one point in time when I was trying to see if she could marry him in France, and somehow (on her family tree) she was arriving in France with a child (not baby) by some French guy she had never met. When I used the "fixall" option in AM, it tells me that there are a few "bad sims" and missing relationship links.

It's definitely an EA bug.

I fixed this issue in my game. It's a framework installation issue.

I think the problem was my DDFMap file was in the wrong spot.

The only thing I can offer in the way of help is to try to explain how I installed the framework (not that it's any different from the way suggested on the site... just possibly easier to understand for some.)

-Open the framework folder and go into the folder "Game/Bin" and copy the "d3dx9_31.dll" file.

-Paste the "d3dx9_31.dll" file into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin  AND  C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures\Game\Bin

-Go back into the framework folder into "Mods\Files" folder and copy "DDFMap" and "Resource.cfg"

-Paste "DDFMap" and "Resource.cfg" into   C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Files    AND    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures\Mods\Files (although I did not have a "files" folder located in my WA directory and simply placed the files in the Mods folder)

-Go back into the framework folder and copy the file "Resource.cfg"

-Paste the file in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3   AND    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 World Adventures

-Next, place your copy of AwesomeMod and its configuration file in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages  (you know.. where you usually put it.)

Good Luck.

My sims are on Mars too.

I have WA. It only happens when AwesomeMod is installed. The problem is not fixed on restart of game or computer. I've tried moving the framework files around as morriganrant suggested, which hasn't worked either. Any more suggestions?
