1  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: This window set I made -- is now fixed -- on: 2011 August 01, 13:06:48
Actually, clicking on one of the windows in the catalog made my game freeze and it became unresponsible. Anyone having the same problem?

Blasted. Variation 8-4 had apparrently escaped my correction. Re-re-uploaded it. Uhm..care for a second try?
2  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Re: This window set I made crashes my game, help please? on: 2011 July 28, 09:02:08
When using the TSR workshop, you can only export what you made to .sims3pack files,

This statement is wrong. Project Contents->export->as .package

I stand corrected. Also, finally got back to this. It is fixed. I shall re-upload.

When using the TSR workshop, you can only export what you made to .sims3pack files, so I unpacked them with the multi installer, and then drag-n-dropped them on s3rc to reduce their size.
Iīm not going to upload to TSR in case anyone was wondering, I just use their tool.

Someone suggested it was the wall-masks. I have no idea. These windows where created with the TSR tool (easy to use and free so why not) and then decrapified.
All windows named x-3 and x-4 causes CTD but only sometimes, which is wierd. All x-3s and x-4s where cloned from the same window, so I suspect that might be why they all have this problem. That dosnt explain why it happens though.

This beeing a more tech savy forum Iīd rather post here than anywhere else.

I think what you mean is like spiral staircases, staircases that bend at angles, and staircases that at the bottom has another next to it going in the opposite direction to the next level?

Yes, the one in the first picture. Its correct you can make them if you arrange for the platform to be in a corner of a house. Otherwise you end up with this:

However, if it was a static object to be placed this wouldnīt be a problem. Or like in one of the EPs for S2 there was a "stage" object that could be placed on top of a foundation. That would probably be more handy. Kinda like 3 objects 1/4, 2/4 and 3/4 of a floor in height, that would allow stairs to be placed from them, but Since this was never made for S2 I thought maybe a stair object would be easier to make.
6  TS3/TSM: The Pudding / Pudding Factory / Proper stairs? on: 2010 July 25, 11:16:23
I really hate the fact that you canīt really make proper stairs in this game. With a lot of fiddling around it was kinda possible in S2. I made a few things for S2 and it was a mess to get things in the game with updates and everything.
Now I can model and map most normal non-curvy objects. Thats what Iīm good at, and since I have some real life experience from the building industry I could probably make those stairs I want in 3D Studio Max, but there would be no point in it, if its not possible to make the actual code for it to work. Anyone who care to comment on that?

I remember this hack. It is great. I only had one minor complaint about it, and that is that if you want to invite someone over and make the food first, like when inviting the headmaster, it can be a bit difficult. I donīt know if an option to override the usual AI was implemented yet?
8  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Building/Upgrading a PC for TS2 - since there have been questions on: 2006 May 21, 12:24:03
Toms is good but if you really want to dig into it there is really only one site to visit and thats www.hardforum.com

Found a very interesting, minor conflict with this hack and the 'no townie respawn'

If you have both in your game, you do not respawn townies, and your player sims do not show up to buy things, BUT, if you used 'deleteallcharacters' so you HAVE no townies, and you send a player sim to another player sim's store to buy (a servo in this case) then the game automatically generates a SHOPPER for the store.

Hmm thats interesting. I havnīt played long enough to test out features of OFB since I wiped everything with this expack. Hardly had the time to check out Nightlife either.

Here is an idea, donīt know if it could be implemented: Allow player sims to buy a certain item IF and only IF, they have a want for that particular item.
10  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Playable Shoppers on: 2006 March 11, 19:46:15
Ahh well, hmm maybe I got confused for a second because I play with the notownie re-gen and deleted all characters before I started to play in the neigbourghood.
11  Awesomeware / The Armory / Re: No Playable Shoppers on: 2006 March 11, 10:29:26
Lol I kinda had a feeling Maxis was going to do this kind of un-thought of feature where they dont think very far into the game. Anyway This would kinda nuke the whole idea pf having a business selling items. Hmm could you make it so only townies would buy autonomysly?
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How about a realistic inheritence upon death? on: 2005 July 26, 16:27:02
Maybe it should just be removed intirely to make sense? Unless a sim was living alone and knew somone to give their money like relatives or friends. Hmm and maybe then the amount beeing given out should be equalent to the lot value+their current "cold cash" amount.
13  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How about a realistic inheritence upon death? on: 2005 July 24, 20:55:23
So what would constitute "accidental" death?

Electrocution, scared to death and burning to death maybe.

It's possible to burn to death in a cooking fire on accident, but more often than not this is a homicide. How would you investigate this properly to determine whether it was an accident, or a homicide?

Would I ask you to make a hack to use it to cheat for money when I could just type in motherlode?

And finally, if the insurance policy were no longer an apparently government-funded benefit, would you actually have to then BUY a policy and pay the monthly premiums on it? If so, why would this even be useful?!?

Do you get a gigantic payout if you die of natural causes in real life? There is no government funded insurance to pay people where I come from if they die of natural causes. The country would be broke pretty fast that way.
14  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How about a realistic inheritence upon death? on: 2005 July 24, 17:53:38
Wouldn't that mean there's no payout at all, since the inheritance is not handed out EXCEPT in cases of natural death, apparently to prevent fraud?

I would like that. But I donīt know if it is ONLY handed out when they die of old age. I WOULD like it to be the other way around so you get the insurance money when they die ACCIDENTIALLY. And if I would cheat I could use the motherlode cheat lol. Why should I do that? I simply want the 30k handouts OUT! That no20khandout is a really nice hack.I have used it for a long time  Smiley
15  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: How about a realistic inheritence upon death? on: 2005 July 24, 09:33:02
After thinking about it for a while it actually DOES make sence if they DO NOT die of natural causes (old age). It is insurance right? Right. So just a mod which removes the payout in natural death situations.  Wink
16  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / How about a realistic inheritence upon death? on: 2005 July 24, 00:01:00
Probably spelled wrong but you know what I mean. When a sim dies they suddenly pull 30K out of their ass. How about something ELSE happened? I donīt know what, I just want something else instead of this. Its stupid.
