Trying version 2. Version 1 worked a treat and I was just going to make it silent and let it do it's thing in the background, but now I see it's new and improved I'll give it a go. Twallan, you've saved me from restarting a new save file three times now, your mods are becoming indispensable, I think you deserve your own section here, you always seem to pinpoint the exact thing that's going wrong in my game and produce a fix for it. You must have mind skillz ! Varmint and I will now be stalking you for the rest of our simming days  Grin

Update:It does the trick. Awesomemod was catching some of them, but this mod catches all of them. As I originally suspected the alarms have failed for the entire hood, as Monday morning 10am the list of sims pushed to work/school was so long it fell off the screen! I would love to know what is causing this mass failure in the first place, as Varmint suggested in another thread, it is defo related to the '1 hour till work' popup that normally appears in the active household, as once this stops firing the lag I used to get at 8am completely ceases, which is nice, but not when the consequences are that everyone's picnicking at the park or dossing about in front of the book store, lazy sons of bitches. They now have no escape...HAHAHA!

Varmint, I have exactly the same issue as you, and I requested Twallan to remake his work/school pusher that was included in his variant awesomemod. He has done so, and it's now available in The Pudding Factory. Haven't tried it yet, so no feedback, but give it a go, it might just solve both of our issues.

I really appreciate this Twallan, thank you so much. I will give it a go on my broken hood, and see if it has the desired effect on my lazy slacker sims. Fingers crossed  Grin
5  Awesomeware / AwesomeMod! / Re: Long pauses on: 2009 August 10, 23:04:52
I have a slowdown every working week day between about 8am and 10am, it's not considerable but it is noticeable. I put it down to the sudden mass exodus because so many jobs start at 9am, I have the same slight slow down between 2pm and 3pm as they're all knocking off and then the Pro Sports and Culinary sims are all mass exodusing to their jobs between those hours. It's just another example of the stupidity of EA to have not staggered the work start times as I suppose they thought the average player would play for a few sim weeks then give up, start over, play something else. The more I play it the more I think this game was not designed to be played for any considerable length of time.

On the idea side what would be the likelihood of some majestic soul tweaking the work start times so they're staggered and there would be a constant flow rather than an 'all rush for the rabbit hole at the same freakin time'. If only I was an expert modder  Grin

Pulled out Indie mode once I learned it wasn't going to be supported.  I only have awesomemod and it's story progression now.

Open a cheat box and type "listhomeless". If you played this hood with indie for any length of time there are probably a shitload of homeless clones and recent versions of awesomemod is doing a much better job of putting them into houses.

l

Awesomemod does indeed do a fantastic job with homing the homeless, one thing you may want to bear in mind is that whenever the game generates a homeless family they have a default face for male and female. It took me a while to realise this as they all have different hair and skin tone, but if you select them and look at them in profile you will see that they are all clones. I was using Indie when I discovered this so I started using their 'Pull genetics from library' feature and made a shitload of my own sims to widen the genetic pool. Running your game for an extended period with the game generated families as your backdrop will eventually lead to clone town, this would only be a problem if you were intending on marrying any of them in I suppose. Me, I prefer variety, so sticking with Indie for the time being.

I have never used the run story action cheat and have still witnessed the red square in my game. In my instance I knew that the red square was a baby of a townie who merged along with his fiancee into the Crumplebottom house, as his baby had disappeared from the left thumbnails. I could play the household by using the select cheat but could not load the house from the hood, as long as I didn't click on the red square I could play the house fine, but I could not merge or split the household, I came to the conclusion that I could either leave all househeld members there and let them grow old and die there then bulldoze the house or start all over again. I believe the red square issue arose from files corrupting when the household merged. I am almost sure I did not have awesomemod installed when this family merged so I don't believe it is at fault, I think there will always be a chance of it happening whenever a households members alter in number.

This is a game breaker and I really don't know where to begin in finding the cause, I'm hoping someone comes up with an explanation/resolution or it will always eventually make the game unplayable.
8  TS2: Burnination / Oops! You Broke It! / Re: Threee Lakes Hotel ate my sims? on: 2008 September 12, 12:56:27
I had the same thing but luckily I had a toddler back at the house so it let me re-enter and my sims came home a few seconds later. If this happened to me in the scenario you've detailed, I know what I would try, it's up to you whether you would want to give it a go, it would mean losing the vacation lot that they were at and also losing their home, but I don't think there's a way around that. I use Insimenator, but you can use any summoning method, if you prefer to play without hacks you can use boolprop and spawn the Tombstone of L and D and it would work the same way, but just take longer.

If you don't have 'testing cheats' auto-on then before you enter a household at your neighboorhood screen open the cheat console and type 'boolprop testingcheatsenabled true' and enter. Enter another residential lot in the same hood (it needs to have at least one more slot for a new household member). Once in, shift and click on any household member and look for the pie menu entry 'spawn', click on that and then from the next menu choose 'Tombstone of L & D'. It will appear next to the sim and be in the guise of a gravestone. Click on the gravestone and choose 'Add neighbor to family...' this will then bring up a menu of ALL sims in the corresponding hood, NPC's, townies and playables. Click MORE and keep clicking MORE until you see the name of an adult member of the lost house. Beware, that it only lists by first name so hopefully the names of your sims are not a common name used by other NPC's and townies. When you see one of their names click on it and that member will be added to the household. Once you've done that you can just move them out, set them up on their own lot and then repeat the process for the rest of the lost household in the new lot.

I use the Insimenator, which would make it easier as the Summoner that is part of that hack splits the family into family name so you can go direct to the missing person/s without having to flick through 10 billion pages of pie menu, I'm not sure if Inge's telporter shrub would do the same as I've never used it, maybe someone else would know the answer to that.

This is only my take on this, if anyone else has a quicker, easier, better way of retriving lost sims I would love to know in case it ever happens to me again. Whatever you decide to do I hope you get your family back, it's most annoying when you lose sims through stupid glitches like this. Good luck !
9  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Maternity Pay on: 2006 October 26, 15:30:18
Something I noticed today. Sim gets pregnant, has 1st bump at midnight, due at work at 9am. Get the usual '3 days off' message, my sim owns a car so at 8am no 'Brittany needs to be at work' message. So far, all normal. Then at 2pm (maternity pay usually kicks in 1 hour before usual return time so I believe), no kaching !! Rest of the day, no kaching !! Where's my baby pay !!! So next day I send her to work at 8am (don't believe this was possible before Pets EP, please tell me if I'm wrong), when she goes to work she has a 'Stay home from work' want, at 2pm, while she's at work that want is satisfied !! Even though she's at work !!

I suppose I should be used to this twisted logic from EP's by now, but just a warning to you all, until there's a fix send your pregnant sims to work !! Surely this is illegal !!
10  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Object Error during movie on: 2006 January 15, 21:01:57
I did it !! Thanks so much all of you, I did what Theo said and moved my 'invisible cursor' to one corner then moved it gently back down over my screen diagonally and RESET lit up !!! Clicked and it's gone away. I know this isn't a real time environment Pescado but I was determined to get another simmer's point of view before giving in and quitting, which would have meant losing 4 hours of game, so I left it on my screen and went to bed. Thanks again everyone...I owe you all one !
11  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: OK, I'll try it here: TV Commercials on: 2006 January 15, 04:58:56
I noticed that my commercials disappeared when I instakked Uni, I copied the folder with the commercials in over to the Uni TV folder and I had them back, only problem was they all ran in a row, they weren't integrated with the programmes. Personally I think the reason they took them out is cos they added the cheering interaction with the sports channel in Uni, I s'pose they thought that watching Sims cheering and whooping at a pizza commercial seemed a bit sad, although it seems pretty normal to me ! Pizza's great !
12  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Object Error during movie on: 2006 January 15, 04:12:27
Hi Guys, Wondering if you can help...I got an object error during the wedding animation (one of the guests was refusing to come watch), so I now have this object error stuck in the middle of my screen, I have no mouse cos it was in the middle of the wedding movie. Does anyone know a keyboard shortcut to get an object error off my screen, I've tried everything I can think of, I don't want to lose this save game. Any help much appreciated. True-Lou x
