76  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Just wondering: First Born Effect & Refreshing on: 2007 June 30, 15:28:28
...I forgot to use the debugger once fairly recently and wound up with a Pisces.

did you have seasons for this birth?
77  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Just wondering: First Born Effect & Refreshing on: 2007 June 30, 07:12:40
No, the sequence starts over from the beginning every single time you load your game up.  So if you go to the neighborhood screen without saving twice for each child and always keep the third version, you will have a set of identical children who are all at the #3 spot in the sequence.  In that case, you would only get non-identical children if you had twins, in which case the second twin would be type #4 for your breeding couple.

Oh, alright, I see. I usually play rather large families during a single session of play, without ever exiting the game. If I'm playing through one session which produces, let's say, 5 babies,no twins, then what should I be expect? That's with saving during the birth and re-loading the lot once or twice. Would that type of play be responsble for the non-identical children that I've seen so far?

when you are starting each gameplay session the first baby will always be a virgo. the next one will always be an aries, next is cap., so on an so forth. if the first birth is twins you will have virgo/aries not a virgo/virgo. i only refrenced single births to point out that all the births i had were first born in each session, and therefore they should all be virgos. if you exit and save the same number of times for each birth then you will have the same problem as not "spinning" in the first place. in order to get a variety you would have to exit 1 to 12 times, but why would you want to exit 12 times seeing as the 12 exit would bring you full circle to virgo again.

at least i think thats what you asked, time and  blurry contacts work against me here. if its not, just ignore me, pretend i am talking to myself.

78  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Just wondering: First Born Effect & Refreshing on: 2007 June 30, 04:09:45
i think something changed in seasons. ima twit and always forget to "spin" and ended up having to alter their personalities, but i think when hair and eyebrows started coming up different so did personalities.
*will go check simpe

ok, i just looked at the last 19 births, first three are from pets the rest are from seasons.
pisces, virgo, virgo, virgo, libra, capricorn, gemini, sagittarius, gemini, libra, gemini, aries, aries, virgo, sagittarius, gemini, aries, gemini, scorpio.
it appearently doesnt vary much, but all of these are single births from different households. each birth was a new startup with out going to cas. plus i have 3 or 4 more babies in waiting in other houses.
79  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Sims Evolving Meal Habits on: 2007 June 19, 22:21:04
mine wait for food and stuff face, but not near as often as they start another meal. i will have to pay more attention to see if they actually pause to see who else will join them, usually i take my eyes off of them until they are finished. but they always sit at the table after they finish even if they are alone in the room. thats what i thought was odd.

Huh me? complain about the awsomeness that you bestow upon our lowly unworthy game? no, i was simply saying that i havent got irritated enough that it doesnt run as it should and when i do i will slink back here with my tail between my legs and beg mercy for not downloading it in the first place. which is exactly what i do everytime. it allows me to fully appreciate what is given.  Grin

i am looking for the hack to stop the hostess from being on the phone constantly instead of helping customers. i could have sworn i saw here, and i think ive opened every hack here trying to find it. i am pretty sure it was named nopodiumphone or podiumphone fix or something like that. i looked into business runs you but it has fixes for a lot of stuff that i dont find annoying yet. hopefully there is one, otherwise i've started seeing things and need to get back on my meds.

if you use content manager you get a file name and a picture to go with it.

yes i do have ofb. and the missing parent is only on this lot, this time. when i was testing it (curious, grunt, beaker, and a cas male) the pictures were correct. but now when i am playing on this lot, its not working. which is fine, i will fix it if i can find the darned pictures.
88  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / a real single parent *fixed* on: 2006 September 03, 06:04:37
my curious alien children dont have a father showing up in their family tree. i am using the multi pollination by fwiffo, tailored to exclude the original pt from being picked. it worked when i was testing it out, but i dont save my test lots. i was going to fix it in simpe but the new pt's dont show up in the family editor. am i looking in the right place? do i need to test again and save the test lots? am i doing something wrong?
i do have the patch for nl, i know that was causing problems with alien offspring.

90  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: Lot Debugger makes photobooth pics flash blue? on: 2006 August 24, 19:43:54
i had that same problem with the flahing pictures. i was told it was a major corruption in my game files and that i needed to uninstall everything. i just hid them behind the showers, i didnt know if deleting them would be harmful. my game was fine for months. and then i had to flash my hard drive for a completely unrelated problem.

93  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: colorbinning, simpe, skintone xml, and genetics on: 2006 June 24, 16:48:36
Someday when I'm 1) really bored and 2) have a lot of time on my hands, I'll get to that color binning. In the meantime, if hairstyles are genetic, I'll live.

i think they are genetic. i married off chloe singles to renee andrews and their little girl has renees hairstyle. and pascals youngest two sons both had his hairstyle when they hit the teens.
94  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / Re: colorbinning, simpe, skintone xml, and genetics on: 2006 June 23, 17:05:11
in a round about way(using my newly installed sims2pack clean installer, content manager, and simpe Shocked) and with the overwhelming help and support from elfpuddle, i have figured out my problem. i was just missing steps in the tutorials i was following, and i think i was using a different version of simpe. thank you to those who were able to see through my appearent hysteria and disorganization to the heart of the problem to offer what you could. Kiss

96  TS2: Burnination / The Podium / colorbinning, simpe, skintone xml, and genetics on: 2006 June 22, 20:51:24
im sorry, i cant find the answer to my question anywhere, and i wasnt sure where to ask this either. ive been looking for days. i have a bunch of downloaded skins and ive been fiddling with the dna of my townies. a few days ago i found out that custom skin is dominant over maxis skintones. which is fine. but when i have children i would like to be surprised. therein lies my dilemma. i guess its called color binning. i found a tutorial that Syera put on springhole, and its very easy to understand, but i cant find skintone xml. i need to find that before i do anything. i found another tutorial here with pictures, but i believe that my version and theirs is different. i checked the simpe web site and found something like it, but they gave another website that you have to download something off of to do this. i really dont want to download anything else unless its the last recourse. if ive made any sense and you can help me, i would greatly appreciate it. thank you.
